randikandi @julieg1 sorry, got cut off. I was gonna ask if he has CP? Because my son also has it. Just not as severe. But his challenges make him the most amazing kid & the most determined person I ever met. My thoughts r with u babe. It's not an easy road...for u or him. I babbled enough. Going to share now. 😘😘😘

julieg1 @randikandi I don't mind you asking at all. Yes Brayden has cerebral palsy. He's my grandson and s perfect little guy. He is 100% disabled, but that doesn't keep him from smiling. He loves music, best of all he loves my singing :-) which is a miracle itself. I literally am the world's worse singer, but it cracks him up. That's all that matters. It can be challenging for my daughter, but that smile makes it all better. Thank you to all so much for the outpouring of love.

randikandi @julieg1 omg Julie...it's my pleasure. Like I said...my son also has CP. But it's only on his right side. Still, he's had 8 surgeries & has been thru the ringer. I do however have a few friends who have children in the same situation as Brayden. Have u tried reaching out to United Cerebral Palsey? They really should b funded to b able to get u that wheelchair. It's worth a try. I have to say tho, u r sooo right. When they smile & laugh, it makes everything worth it. 😘😘😘

julieg1 @randikandi I wish it were just the wheelchair, she needs a wheelchair accessible van. He's too big for the car seat, it's unsafe and her car has about 169,00 miles on it. Really difficult to get him in and out. My heart goes out to you and your son. Brayden hasn't had the surgeries he probably should have. It would be to late now. I haven't checked with the foundation in a long time, when I did, they had an allotment of 500$ a year that could help you purchase something you need. I haven't checked in a while. Thank you so much for the shares. My love and prayers to you and your family.

bellasbeauties
bellasbeauties May i ask what his disability is? I know how hard life can be when you have obstacles in your way. I became disabled when i was 15, due to being run over and dragged by an eighteen wheeler truck. The worst day of my life. But I'm very lucky and blessed to still be alive and doing as well as i am. Very fortunate i was only run over from my hips down. I was crushed under the wheels. I cant imagine how difficult your family has had it. But I'm sure they're still happy to have him at all. Having a great family means more than most know. I have the best, 4 brothers that have and will always do whatever they can . For I'm their only sister.. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your whole family. Stay strong and keep your chin up. Im 46 now. I wouldn't change my life for anything.. Much love, my name is Bella🙋

julieg1 @uzanne Bella let me tell you, you are the amazing one here. OMG the trauma you live through that day and everything that had to endure since. Oh my dear how strong you are, Wow. Being only 15 and having tragedy hit like that, that is life changing for sure. To have the support of your brothers and their help along the way, kudos to them. Brayden has Cerebral Palsy, he was diagnosed at 8months, so we have had 12 years to prepare for his disability. Our biggest challenge is being able to pick him up for the different things, we can work with that. As he grows I'm sure that will always be the biggest issue. He hasn't had any seizures for several years now so that is good. He's eating, thriving and healthy, that's most important. Of course I'd give anything if he could talk and tell us what he wants or what is wrong, mostly I think he would be the funniest kid around. We know he's smart in there, it's just locked up. as long as he smiles it's all good. Please give yourself a pat on the back for the courage you had to go and accomplish what you have. Hats off to you. May you continue to thrive and have an amazing life.

bellasbeauties
bellasbeauties I thank you for your kind words. My life is a breeze compared to so many others. I only wish there weren't so many , worse off than me! Most people don't look at life that way. I hate people who complain about the little things. People need to learn to be grateful for their lives and what they have. Not for what they don't have. Ive had 100 surgeries to put me back together. I'd have mire if there was something else they could do. But ill take what i've got as thats all one can do. We have to play the cards we are dealt in life and live it to the fullest. I wish only good for your family. Keep his smiles coming!!! 👼 Bella

writetanyaj Sorry to pry but my lil brother n law has hydrocephalus his dad get ss and lots of other help paying for everything even Childcare have you tried that? Or dept of developmental disabilities?
Jun 22Reply
writetanyaj
writetanyaj Also the local elks club raised 13,000 for a wheelchair for him as well. My father in law knew the head of the elks club and since my MIL died suddenly I suspect that's why he got so much $ but look into that I believe the elks clubs do a lot for disabled children

writetanyaj
writetanyaj One last thing is if he's in school I would think the school has access to information for any financial help for wheelchairs etc. Also older kids who've grown out of their wheelchairs would their parents be getting rid of them? At least those are things I've seen done for my FIL. I know there has GOT to be help for your daughter I have seen firsthand the financial burden that parents of disabled children face I pray your able to find help for your daughter so she doesn't bare that burden alone!

julieg1
julieg1 @writetanyaj oh I'm sorry about your brother in law. She does get some benefits, not lots. I'm not sure if the dept of disabilities, well have to check that out. They won't help get a vehicle, they help with paying for the lift. They give 10,00 towards the 25,000 one cost. It's insane. The vehicle has to be New and pre approved or they won't help, they have other requirements as well, it's ridiculous. She had tried to work off and on over the years, so difficult. Beaten has a lot of apts, gets sick, school calls and wants her to come get him for this and that. It's tough. His dad left when he was a year old and has never seen him since. I'm hoping this works, he needs it so bad. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

julieg1 @writetanyaj Zoe, I'm sorry, it's a wheelchair accessible van they need. Yes you are correct they will pay for a new wheelchair every five years.
