Fighting Crohn's Disease like a BAD ASS for 27 years ;) This is me. Sometimes I dream of a different life- a healthier one. But then I wouldn't be me! Who wants that? I am stronger than my disease. It does not define who I am. It has helped me become a better person, helped shape my character and I am okay with that at 42 years young. I am an ECE Teacher ( currently unemployed 😢). @pinpoint Thank you Renee, I have been out of the loop for a few days, slowly feeling a bit better, Posh has really become an addiction, and I do have a lot of time on my hands, so it helps with that also. @erika75 this is a downer....all the food i love....gone! the pain in my tummy always wondering if i am going to be sick or not....i guess i just come to know you have to play the cards your delt, and do everything in your power to kick it's ass everyday, instead of it kicking mine...i do know my eye sight is changing which sucks

I can't eat I'm just really sick my sisters feeling much better so she's going to come & help me out !! Plus my niece is coming with her to clean my house! @erika75 Im not surprised about the food allergy, I have a huge problem with carbs. My poor body flares up so bad that I feel 20 years older some days. I wonder how I managed to work because there are days when I have to take a long siesta or I can't function and Im not sure which part of my body hurts more. Ive not been diagnosed but years ago they said I had fibrositis which now comes under the umbrella of fibromyalgia.I have noted that a lot of those days are after eating junk carbs. Growing up it was meat and veggies and hardly any breads etc. Of course they didn't put all the bad stuff into our food like they do today. I do hope you will start to have more energy which will make life much easier and more enjoyable for you. oxoxoxo

I send out prayers to you. I know what it's like to have an invisible illness. I have fibromyalgia , RA, Hoshimotos, and a host of other autoimmune diseases. My 7 yr old was just dx with severe Chrons last yr, I am sitting while she is getting her IV now in Manhattan . Posh has been a fun escape , feel good, happy poshing!!!!

When you get one autoimmune disease- it seems you get like 5 more added on.. it's a daily struggle, but we are fighters. We fight- that is what we do. I've lost a lot. But I've also gained a deeper compassion for others and a strength that surprises me as each year passes

I have a small bowel obstruction- they foresee another surgery in my near future. I need a few more days at home of rest and only liquids. See how it goes! Erika I know more about SBOs & LBOs than I'd like to admit lol. Seriously though, during my internal med rotation elective I had 2 cases and was so determined to understand how that happens, how to prevent it, n treat it. I ended up doing an hour presentation to the entire department on bowel obstructions! Hopefully it resolves soon & you don't need surgery. I'm actually very surprised they d/c you... Hmmm even if you fought for it. It can be very dangerous. Doesn't make sense.

I'm happy you are home. I am learning about this C- thing, The other nite i was in pain. Thought I had SBO! It passed-ate apples that day so that was really weird. The pain was worst, at 2am😢
It felt like labor pains only 10x. Do you have to have special diet? Thanks for sharing, we learn from you and others who suffer fr C.

@pearlyshells2 hi- I I have never had labor pains- but it feels like my intestines were set on fire and continuously stabbed over and over and over again. it fools you- disappears for about 5 minutes, then it strikes again. like maybe trying to pass a coconut through a very thin straw... Such an ugly, evil disease. I am sorry you had that kind of episode.

Excruciating pain. hope you are better? If I am having an obstruction, no food or liquid for awhile. Slowly add in clear liquid..then full liquids, then a low residue diet. Apples would be a definite no-no. If you have any questions please feel free to tag me my pff. Hugs to you!!

This crazy Winter is (hopefully) breathing it's last here in MI, so there's that. But, not sure you're aware, but my daughter's a working actor who moved home from NYC a number of years ago. @erika75 Amen my friend! I know what it is to be a warrior...I travel my journey with A.S. which causes other diseases, as well as Crohns...it is one of the new "sub diseases" I've just been diagnosed with! I have 2 pages thus far of diagnoses.
My heart goes out to you! You are in my prayers. @thehuntress792 you are in my prayers as well...its very difficult to have a chronic untreatable illness, but when 98% of the population, including doctors, hardly know anything about your disease...

Hi! My daughter was diagnosed when she was in 8th grade. She was in and out of the hospital until she graduated college. She is 28, nursing supervisor (RN) at a major Atlanta hosp., & she is about 8 wk from giving us our 1st grand baby!

@erika75 You are so sweet. We worked with CCFA for so many years. We hosted a local walk 2 yr in a row. She went to their camp when she was younger. After she turned 28, she worked as a councilor. She was always open with people as to the symptoms and such. Education!!!

I am so sorry you have been battling this disease for so long. I know how much you desire to have your life back! I struggle every day with chronic pain from severe osteoarthritis and back and knee problems. I am nearly bed ridden and it's a progressive disease for me. Just read ur post, I have the same and just want you to know mine got alot better when they removed about 16 inches of intestines that were scarred etc from adhesions and ever since it's 80% better. Ask Dr if it's an option in ur case. I'll pray for you and it gets better once ur diet and meds are working. Posh is great for us, no one knows we're in restroom half of the time.

I had no idea, Erika! I struggle with the same disease! It has certainly given me a struggle, made me skinny, then SUPER PUFFY, thus the need for SO MANY sizes in my personal closet!!! Hate you are going through it too but I guarantee it's made us both some pretty darn strong chicks!!!

Not nosy at all...I had so many questions when I was diagnosed nearly 7 years ago now. I LATHE the steroids but they are the only thing that really "fixes" sometimes...pain med just dull the problem. Mine started in my colon...going for another upper and lower GI in Sept to see what other fun I have in store...

@erika75 @erika75 Isn't that the truth?! One of my favorite quotes is "If you're hearing 'There's No Hope,' then you're just not talking to the right person." No truer words. I was down to 93 lbs on my 5'6 frame and on an NG feeding tube by the time I found the right team and they kicked into high gear and had me walking and on the mend within weeks, I'm now strong and healthy and up to a weight I won't mention lol which feels very good! So awesome to hear your story, fight on Warrior!

@erika75 I'm writing to give you encouragement!!! I too suffered from small bowel blockage at an early age - 27 - almost died back in 1980. Diagnosed w/C. disease from then on with 3 children to raise by myself. Had it not been for a homeopathic Dr., I would've thrown in the towel. He told & taught me how to meditate & move pain from one place to another in your body so you can tolerate it better . You can do that with running & it literally saved my life!

Hang in there luv! I don't have Crohn's disease but have other chronic neurolohical issues & have had many issues that mimic Crohn's to an extent in my stomach. I'm in awe of you & thanks for reminding all of us to keep that positive attitude. Don't give up on teaching, maybe even remotely you'll have an opportunity to do it again in the future. I️ work at an elementary school too! I️ just learned about the seriousness of Crohn’s disease recently because our PTA president has it and was explaining to me some of her challenges... she’s lost a lot of weight recently because anything she eats kills her stomach so she can’t eat.
