54 Krobo Tribal Bead Necklace - West Africa

A beautiful strand of powder glass African beads, made by the people of Krobo Mountain (Ghana, West Africa ). The necklace measures 34” in diameter. Made from bottles and other glass items that are turned into powder, then into molds in order to create this nice looking beads. Decorations on the beads are made with a paste of coloured glass powder and water, which is applied using a thin wooden stalk. They are cooked a second time to fix the decor. Each bead is unique.
