moonbornvintageAwe. ❤️ same here. Your high end vintage items are remarkable. I wish I could just lay in my bed surrounded by old Hollywood elegance but all I have are a few pennies. Lol. I adore your closet and the way you've marketed the vintage things on the portraits is brilliant. I enjoyed peeking through everything. ❤️🌷

thewispygypsyIs it you who collects silpada?

Dec 05Reply

katielady1982@dvacante must be someone else. Lol i had to look it up. I have collected a number of things over the years.

Dec 05Reply

thewispygypsySorry. I figured it out. Trying to share other's items with people I know are collecting!

Dec 05Reply

katielady1982@dvacante nah its okay :) thats really cool of you. do you collect anything? i can keep an eye out for you! :)

Dec 05Reply

katielady1982@dvacante there is one thing i have been looking for for ages. if you go in my closet and go to the sold section you will find a listing of a Stratton comact set. i am looking for the cigarette case. almost nabbed one on ebayUK last year, but i was outbid at the last minute. I will tag you in the listing :)

Dec 05Reply

thewispygypsySo there are a couple of things. I wear a 6 1/2 and am interested in any gently used loubitons at good prices and I need a 1 carat "ish" round or square cut real not treated ruby to put in an antique setting I have. If you happen across these tag me please. Thanks for offerring.

Dec 05Reply

katielady1982@dvacante were you looking for a raw ruby? i can check my stash of lose gem stones and see what i can come up with. here is a really off the wall idea, but its helped me in a similar situation recently. since gold has gone up and down etc, a lot of pawn shops and people that buy gold and silver have a stash of extra gemstones that they will be willing to get rid of for next to nothing. check them out. i got such a good deal on the raw emerald i needed. i bought a bunch of different stones. i think i got 30+ for 25 bucks. call around. its worth it.

Dec 05Reply

katielady1982damn i can not type today!!!!!

Dec 05Reply

katielady1982@dvacante what is your price range for Loubitons?

Dec 05Reply

thewispygypsyIt depends. But preferably below 450. I wish I could afford more for some of the really cool ones.

Dec 05Reply

thewispygypsyMy local pawnshops can't authenticate anything but diamonds and gold. I could ask if they have a stash of stones though. I have a beautiful 1930 platinum setting with small diamonds on the sides. It had a 1+ carat very nice diamond in it that my mother took out and put on a gold band. My sister has it but let me have the setting (I got a second 1930s diamond ring) and I would love a ruby in it. Please check your stash. The diamond was round cut but the setting could hold a square diamond. I priced it with my jeweler a while back and I can't remember what he quoted me but it was much more than I thought it would be. Thanks for all your help.

Dec 05Reply

katielady1982@dvacante i am due for a visit to mine, so absolutely yes i will take a look for you. i understand the need for one. more than likely i can find one that is period to your piece. my favourite pawn broker keeps a bucket for me to go through and i will go in from time to time and nab them up. ( you would not believe the gems and settings people give up for scrap)

Dec 05Reply

thewispygypsyOh. That would be amazing. I will take a pic of the setting and tag you. Are you by chance interested in a very similar pattern Stratton set in black instead of red. I saw the cigarette case, compact and lipstick case I think on ebay. The auction in over in 1 day!

Dec 05Reply

katielady1982@dvacante that's the thing, it's this set I want to complete. The red enamel is super hard to find. I have seen one come up on auction in the 10 years I have been searching for one. Only to be outbid at the last minute :( (I hate ebay)

Dec 06Reply

thewispygypsyI hear you. I had to find a game my daughter's asked for. Only reason I was on ebay at all. I will keep my eyes open.

satchel09Just a question as a shopper...why do sellers post items that say NFS? What's that all about? And why are the SOLD postings still up? It drives me a little batty at times! Just wondering What the scoop is on that!

Apr 27Reply

satchel09Plus...what does the word "Vintage" mean in terms of age or anything else it connotes? Is there any way of proving truthfulness or how does one go about finding out the truth! I purchased an item that clearly showed it as having a verdigris finish, she provided info regarding the artist which was great in response to a couple of normal questions about it. When I received it, I was disappointed to find it didn't come close to the finish in the pic, but liked the item enough to keep it. But I

satchel09gave her 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 5 stars because of the pictures being a little misleading though I was happy about the rest of the aspects of her service and said so nicely and clearly. So, she blocked me from purchasing from her again! Sorry, but I've been in retail and sales materials for at least 30 years and know a well

satchel09lighted picture that shows the item in proportion and natural light and modeled on an average sized person will sell itself easily! Without 50 million questions! Just say'in'....

Apr 27Reply

katielady1982@satchel09 some of my NFS items I have changed my mind about, but may sell again in the future, others I have gifted. I believe the sold items remain as to let people know that you are a reputable seller.

Apr 27Reply

katielady1982@satchel09 as for the vintage items in my closet, I consider vintage to be 25 years or older. Most of the pieces I have that are vintage I have verified with research or have had for 25 years or more.
