aelalea I am new to posh and just learning about what "lowball" offers are. Question: if your item is listed at $100, and someone offers $65 or $75, is that a "lowball" offer? And does it offend you? If a person offers an unreasonably low price, it seems like what they are expecting is for you to counteroffer... Who would really expect the seller to accept such a low offer? Keep in mind I am not disagreeing with the premise presented here. I'm just trying to understand how to avoid alienating sellers during a negotiation. Any information and comments are appreciated! Thank you.

shugahs @aelalea Hi and welcome to Posh😉 Don't feel bad about not knowing what lowballing is..I just found out myself! Lol To answer your question: I feel that if you have a price on an item and a customer tries to offer you a "garage sale" amt, then that is TOO low. Your question in regards to the example of the price marked at $100 and the offer is $65 or $75, it truly depends on how much you feel the item is worth and if after Posh takes their cut, would it be fair to you?!?! For example: I had an item marked at $70 and this lady offered $25 so I counteroffered for $65 (letting her know I was NOT giving it away)So she counteroffered for $60 and I took it. I think alot of times people expect you to just accept their first offer but if you don't care about not making anything after fees, then you can accept a low offer or if you are really strapped for cash, you may or may not accept. Because what they fail to realize is just like they offered there are 5-10 other offers that have come in for the same item and the seller can take their pick. I hope that helps… Hopefully some of the more seasoned Posher's will give you some feedback. I love Posh and sometimes I enjoy the challenge with the offers but I despise being taken for granted! If I paid good money for it then I'm certainly not going to give it away for free… Good luck to you shugah😄

All of my items are in great and sometimes unused condition. I would never make an offer of 50% or more off. It's really rude.

helloposhme I LOVE THIS! I'd like to add that to me it's incredibly rude when someone posts things like; "trade" "lowest", "Pay.... .. " etc. I mran please.... ask a real question. Use your words!!! Maybe it's a social media etiquette thing that I don't get, maybe others find that totally acceptable, but I CAN'T STAND IT!!! It's especially annoying if it's also clear the person intends to lowball, like when you've seen them posting such things all over posh!!! Grrr!

shugahs @lovestoryshop Yesss, I totally agree with you! It's really sad that we don't make as much as we really should. If Posh didn't take 20%, then we could work with them a little more. Maybe if they had days that they didn't take the full 20% or none at all on certain days, then we'd be able to offer more discounts. There are so many things I wish they'd consider. 1. We need a personal chat(instant messaging) with customers sometimes because they really shouldn't have to pour their hearts out on the comment section to get us to work out a deal with them. 2. 20% or even cut down to 5% on certain days. They make enough to do that. (I would've said 10% but only the Lord gets 10%!) 3. If an item is $50 and all the customer has is $50 and they can't afford shipping but we can't afford to decrease due to the 20%, then we should be able to have like 3 overrides per month to work with and zero out their shipping fees. Just a thought. Only because some apps don't take any fees out but I love Poshmark💖👍

lovestoryshop Yes I could NOT agree with you on this anymore. I mean how amazing would it be if they actually had days of reduced rates or even FREE shipping a couple times a month??! I mean the specials they run for $2.99 shipping helps but it's only a $2 less 😒😒 This would eliminate people trying to sell through 🅿️🅿️ and gain the appeal to new users! Also personal messenger would be SO amazing!!! 👍 I feel like Big Brother at times like that we're on surveillance 😂😂 Maybe some of these matters could be brought up at a Posh Meet. To list I might open another closet but sure enough were it Says all prices lowed read that one everything I sold this weekend was more offers I need the $ better than nothing but I'm being Robbed. It says not taking offers at the moment everything was marked fine so why do they make offers ??? Most are fellow poshers u go in there closets all high end I don't see them taking offers . Ugh.. I told my sis @stepfresh that I was gonna go to their highest priced item and offer $2 for a $200 bag! I dare them not to accept....lol I'm getting heated just typing this. I wish Posh had a buzzer like they do on Family Feud where it puts a big fat red X on their screen because they lowballed us!!!!! And then it wouldn't allow them to bid on another Poshers closet for 24/48 hours😀😀😀😀😀😀 be even better if it sent an alert to us so we'd know they have a history of lowballing!!! Lol

It's so annoying to list a NWT item and to get an offer 50% off & receive a counter $1 more than the first crazy offer😔😩 If there was some way to implement a system wide "shake" with their ID that would flash across all of our screens so they could see just how dumb they look, that would be awesome!!!
