shericulver @shannondgray - took pix outside but they looked the same. The color is depicted accurately and will, of course, be darker and lighter according to lighting and shadows. It is the color of a cranberry. Hope this helps. Gorgeous piece.

nouvelle_mode Thank you. I'm on a weight loss journey and building up my smaller size wardrobe in anticipation of impending weight loss. I've lost 40 lbs already and going through sizes about once a month - 6 weeks. Last month, I purchased a few pieces in sizes 6 & 4 and I really love Theory dresses. However, I've spent my budget already and now I'll be waiting until I am actually wearing a size 4 to purchase anything additional. I'm keeping this item in my "likes" and will revisit when the time comes.

nouvelle_mode My question about the color is - cranberries can be more on the red-orange or red-violet side of the color wheel, and they also vary in terms of shade (how light or dark the color is). My interest level on this dress was high, so I even scoured the internet for various pictures of cranberries, but just saw so much variation. I totally get what you're saying about the shade looking different in different lighting.

nouvelle_mode A white background, or a "familiar item" background such as trees, grass, sky, can help the viewer see a more true representation. I really like a true red garment - like fire-engine red or cherry red, or even brick red (a darker shade of the same hue in my mind). The more burgundy or wine-colored shades of red do not appeal to me for whatever reason. And cranberry (in my mind) can read right on the border between the red I like and the red I would never wear.
