nami001 @geliah I love shih tzus as well! I've always had large fur babies and this is my first time having small puppies. My oldest is going to be 9 and the youngest will be 7. Both are girls and are so loving. Someone told me small fur babies don't have a long life span but seeing your 15 year old has made my night! Thank you for the sweet compliment. She's located in CO now, but works really closely with Eileen Gregory and her daughter (not sure how familiar you are with the breed - originally bred by Linda Spurlin; she retired all her dogs went to Eileen). Donell was great to work with, and since she works so closely with Eileen, Nyxie's pedigree is ALL ALASCO (the original linage from Linda Spurlin). I've heard tons of amazing things about Kika's Klee Kai and Wieblehusky's.

shoplemondrop @sweeetcaroline9 I feel you, we can never move because no one will allow more than two dogs. The wait time for a Klee Kai can run 1-2 years, especially if you're set on using your local breeder, so not a bad idea to get your application in way ahead of time =) our malshi is 15 so we're starting to think about whether or not we want another AKK or if we want to just stick with two for a bit.

shoplemondrop @luxlauren that what he is! I got him 'second hand' so I had to do a DNA test to figure it out, but now they're my favorite dog. Such sweet little moppy of fur and kisses! Oh my gosh I just found your photo and they do look so much alike! I'm in the pet industry so I actually have the least amount of pets out of everyone I know, but I'm always super impressed when I meet someone outside of the industry with a gaggle - it's so much work and money, but they're so worth it <3

luxlauren @geliah My Mal-Shih is by far my easiest pup. He has the sweetest temperament. My pups just went to the groomers yesterday and they shortened his ears, and he literally looks just like yours. Too cute! If my other pups were as easy as Aspen, I would consider a 4th, but they are high maintenance and I am seriously outnumbered, so I am done!😉 But I always recommend Shih Tzu'(or Shih mixes) to friends.

shoplemondrop @luxlauren I was just thinking about how much cleaner your gang is than mine on a regular basis lol. How old is your little guy? I used to hate the shorter ears but he has cushings so his hair growth is really erratic and patchy so as he's aged they keep getting taken up and I fell in love. One of my work friends just got her FIFTH last week. What are you other two? I'm thinking a yorkie mix and a mix similar to Aspen?

luxlauren @geliah He'll be 6 in January. The shorter ears is new for my pups, but I think it's adorable! They look younger(and of course they are super easy to brush). My girl Reina is a Yorkie and my other boy Raleigh is a Maltese-Yorkie(he's a nightmare 23 hours a day😂, which is why I recommend a Shih Tzu or a Shih mix instead of a Maltese).

kristigrr It is so neat! I have 2 dogs out of Ur three that are about the same! I have a dachshund/chuahua mix, a maltese-shitzu/lhaso apso mix! Then my 3rd one is a 30 lb Boston terrier/beagle mix and then a 4th is my black lab/great Dane mix!!! All inside dogs! I live them to pieces tho

If I wasn't severely allergic to cats I would probably have at least 5 - so much more socially acceptable to have a half dozen cats than it is dogs lol. Cesar is SO CUTE. I try not to have favorites but my long hair chihuahua is def the favorite of my bunch. You're right, SO loyal. She's about to turn 10 and I don't even know what I'll do with myself when she's gone. I've had her since I was 18 and she's been by my side through so much.

All my babies are from those fun “I just had *insert generic reason* happen and if someone doesn’t take my dog in the next 30 minutes I’m having them put down” ads. I just adopted a cute little 8 month old shih tzu something with early onset glaucoma last year. I would probably have a zillion cats myself if o wasn’t allergic 😪
