NWT Elegant J. Crew Wedding Gown or Formal Silk Satin Gown (Off-White) The style is called "Madelyn". This elegant gown is fully lined with an inset waistband, cross back straps and a slight train. Very reminiscent of a dress that Jean Harlow would have worn in the 1930's PLEASE NOTE: Its NEVER been worn, It is a size 16 but fits more like a 12! It has spaghetti straps with a crisscross back design and a short train. Very elegant for a spring or summer wedding!

redmiata35 @jhennie, no it doesn't. The top is a lined piece of fabric with very little construction so it flows across the bustline.

gailemcg How wide are the hips? What is the waist measurement? Does it have any give or stretch? Thank you!!

redmiata35 @gailemcgi Hi, this dress is cut on the bias which gives it some give but not much. This is a satin fabric which drapes beautifully. The measurement across the hips is about 26" flat. If you have more of an hourglass or pear shape figure, this will work for you unless you are very busty. While it is lined, there is no padding or additional structure to the top of the dress.

redmiata35 Go look at the evening dresses that Hollywood Movie Stars wore in the 30's. Jean Harlow especially wore satin bias cut dresses all of hte time. This is very much like a dress that she would have worn.
