sgphipps
sgphipps @puppymomma I unfortunately got stuck with a fake from a Posh seller...
Dec 23Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @sgphipps you should tell poshmark! I bet I could guess which seller 😒
Dec 23Reply
sgphipps
sgphipps @puppymomma it was too late as I was out of the country when it arrived....broke the first time I put it on😬 is the seller you are referring to have a lot of sleazy stuff in her closet?
Dec 23Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @sgphipps oh no I was thinking of a seller who has like hundreds of sold listings of fake dogeared
Dec 23Reply
sgphipps
sgphipps @puppymomma this one has a lot.....
Dec 23Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @sgphipps even if you can't get your money back it's still worth contacting posh to make them aware of the sellers actions
Dec 23Reply
sgphipps
sgphipps @puppymomma 'snow' is part of her username
Dec 23Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @sgphipps yep a lot of her items are from the same website as the knock off dogeared. She buys everything for $1 or so and then sells to make a profit. Which is fine with me but don't sell fake as real that's messed up.

sgphipps
sgphipps @puppymomma yep....just wrote Posh....

presleysmom530
presleysmom530 This just happened to me. She gave me "bundled" deals. All 9 necklaces were fake. Over $200 lost. And then she closed that shop and reopened under another name. I contacted posh last week when I realized it, the 3 days had already passed, but it's a principle factor to me.
Dec 23Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @presleysmom530 yep it sucks. I'm aware of the fake sites so that's why I know better. It's not fair they take advantage of people who don't know about all the fakes

msleochic
msleochic What about this "signedbrooklyn" person, she seems to have a lot for cheap.
Dec 25Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @msleochic all fake think about it, it's not possible to have that many for cheap. And her pictures are plain no real life pics. She hates questions. Blocks people for asking anything suspicious of her. She is def selling fakes
Dec 25Reply
msleochic
msleochic @puppymomma ugh.. That makes a lot of sense, I asked something on an older pic and never got a reply.. Everything is priced exactly the same etc. That's awful 👎
Dec 25Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @msleochic yep it's just messed up. It would be dif if she admitted to the knock off but she claims they are authentic bc she knows you have no way of telling till you get it and realize it's shitty
Dec 25Reply
shainaelaine2
shainaelaine2 Yea I got one from "signedBrooklyn" and I'll be honest it doesn't look fake but as soon as I shared this post she blocked me
Dec 26Reply
jenmar105
jenmar105 @shainaelaine2 I got some from her too. How do we know if they're fake
Dec 26Reply
jenmar105
jenmar105 I think I just got 3 fakes. But not sure. How can you tell
Dec 26Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @jenmar105 I haven't studied the dogeared fakes well but if you tag me in a couple good pics of them I can tell you. You just have to be realistic there fakes of EVERYTHING on the Internet and it's impossible she got a bunch of real dogeared and is selling them for so cheap. They could be stolen too but it's just odd that she doesn't put up good pictures.
Dec 26Reply
shainaelaine2
shainaelaine2 It's really hard to tell at a glance bc typically the difference is that they're base metals and not real gold or silver. They may turn your skin green or tarnish easily.

elle27
elle27 I bought a few necklaces from signedbrooklyn and they seem the same quality as the dogeared necklaces I have. The ones I've bought from nordstroms tarnishes fairly easily as well so I'm not sure if that's a great indicator. That would be a shame if they are fakes but now her closet if closed I'm doubting the necklaces I bought 😩
Dec 26Reply
jersey323
jersey323 I've bought a lot of items from @signedbrooklynn and all her items are very authentic. After seeing this post I took the items I bought from her closet to lord and Taylor's and they also verified the items are real. I think you guys should definitely do your own research before believing someone feelings on items. Lots of people sell fake items on posh but she's definitely not one of them.
Dec 29Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @jersey323 I know lord and Taylor does not authenticate anything but as long as you believe you paid for something real that's all that matters.
Dec 29Reply
jersey323
jersey323 @puppymomma actually they do and I've taking items to Nordstrom as well and got the same answer. Doesn't seem as if you've actually purchased a Dogeared item from poshmark.
Dec 29Reply
jersey323
jersey323 @puppymomma you've said in a previous comment to someone that you haven't really studied Dogeared fakes.... So how can you tell her items are fake ? Do you work for Dogeared ?
Dec 29Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @jersey323 it's just very clear to me that many people are oblivious to these websites that sell fakes for very cheap, therefore sellers make about $20 on a fake piece of jewelry on posh. Now, do I know they are fake for 100%? No. But the fact is if you think realistically no one can make a profit selling new dogeared for as cheap as these sellers unless they are fake. I don't think it's fair to leave people out of the loop without knowing there are fakes and it is highly possible they are fake.
Dec 29Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @jersey323 I just want people to be in the know. I personally would not want to purchase from the sellers like Brooklyn but that's why I didn't name any names bc it's not my place to call out specific people. I'm glad you feel you made an authentic purchase but if you were my friend or someone else I would have advised you against it.
Dec 29Reply
jersey323
jersey323 @puppymomma you didn't mention her name but your telling other poshmark users that her items are fake! you've probably never purchase one item from her And that's where I think your wrong. I don't think it's fair that your trying to talk Ill about her and your trying mislead people. Who are you to say her items are too cheap ? I do stand behind the items I purchased from her and it's horrible that you have people now doubting their items when they should be enjoying what they received.
Dec 29Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @jersey323 I want people to be aware and I think they are fake. I appreciate your taking the time to add to the discussion that's what it's for.

feral I'm new to Posh. Is there a way to search user names? I did make a purchase and the necklace tarnished after a few days and I can't seem to figure out how to go to the sellers closet.

Jan 08Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @nicinsacto it's really simple. Dogeared makes expensive delicate jewelry. Their prices range from $62-$120 usually depending on the item. A few of the girls have mentioned discoloration or tarnish almost immediately but most importantly you have to use your head. I've seen some of the fakes up close they are so obviously not real just by the look of them.
Jan 10Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @nicinsacto But some you just have to use your head... How can this person sell expensive jewelry in bulk that is "brand new" for so cheap and make a profit ? It's that simple.
Jan 10Reply
sfhs1966
sfhs1966 I purchased from the posher mentioned earlier in the comments. She blocked me and hasn't sent out my purchase. Why would you block someone who purchased from you?

beaureve
beaureve So I found this post after some googling and it got me anxious. I had just bought an item from a posher that was mentioned earlier so I did my research. I bought an elephant necklace straight from Dogeared a year ago, so I studied that one and noticed that they brand their small dandelion logo on the back of the items (on mine, it's right behind the elephant's head).
Jan 22Reply
beaureve
beaureve I just received the necklace I bought from poshmark and I notice a small dandelion branding on the bottom of the pendant. I even inquired with Dogeared and showed it to them. They told me it was authentic. PHEW! Pleasantly surprised. Just a little tip for everyone. Look for the dandelion!

rhs1024
rhs1024 @beaureve hey do you by any chance know if charms that aren't flat will still be marked?
Jan 27Reply
beaureve
beaureve @rhs1024 That I'm not totally sure if. I did ask Dogeared, but they never gave me a specific answer. The necklace I bought off Poshmark was a small 3D object and I really had to look closely for it. Mine was at the bottom, sort of hidden in the design, but it's there. I doubted it, but Dogeared authenticated it 💁🏻
Jan 27Reply
rhs1024
rhs1024 @beaureve thanks so much!
Jan 27Reply
rhs1024
rhs1024 @beaureve hey I just contacted dogeared and apparently some are not specifically the karma ones. I guess it really depends if there's a good place to stamp it. Thought you might want to know for future purchases!

beaureve
beaureve @rhs1024 Ah, useful! I guess there's no one concrete way of validating all of it.

raleighuga
raleighuga @puppymomma Hey girl, came across this trying to determine how to spot fakes bcuz there's a seller on ♏️erc with 100s of fakes ($8 free ship) & it REALLY pisses me off! I love their jewelry, have lots of it. I have a few for sale on here (6-7 necklaces). I sell them for $25-30 each, & they're 100% authentic. I bought them on sale at a large discounted retail store (i.e...Nordstrom Rack, TJMaxx, Marshall's) & make very little profit
Jan 22Reply
raleighuga
raleighuga @puppymomma (a couple I bought 1 I already had). Anyway 2 things...1 - the seller referenced above has 0 sold listings, fishy needless to say, I'm wondering what price she WAS selling them for; of course I noticed some of her buyers are reselling here, which is their prerogative/none of my business, IF they're authentic. 2 - just an fyi to everyone...it IS possible to buy a few Dogeared necklaces (VERY limited selection) for around $20-25 occasionally,
Jan 22Reply
raleighuga
raleighuga (I'm so sorry, just realized I didn't need to reply to u, just hit comment, my bad 🙄) however when I see anyone with more than 5-10 for sale &/or less than $25 each, I absolutely question the authenticity. Frankly, I've debated raising the prices on mine so no1 would question the authenticity but decided that was unnecessary as I've NEVER owned nor sold anything fake.
Jan 22Reply
raleighuga
raleighuga Because I buy a lot of things with the intention of reselling, I spend too much time (& I LOVE doing it) at certain stores & therefore am sometimes privy to some deals that others aren't as they have better things to do with their time 😊 My best advice is if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. And it's your responsibility as a buyer (& mine also) to ALWAYS do your due diligence!

judiah01
judiah01 Thanks for posting this! I didn’t want to pay retail price for it so I shopped around for deals and found some on other sites that were going for $10-30. While I know there are definitely fakes floating around out there, I also know that there are independent sellers/ retail stores who buy directly from Dogeared at cost (before marking it up and selling at the retail prices we’re used to seeing and paying).
Feb 13Reply
judiah01
judiah01 I haven’t purchased anything from this Brooklynnn posher but it’s possible that she could be buying authentic necklaces from Dogeared at wholesale prices (hence the steep discount / cheap prices). Or she could be selling knockoffs. Like I said, I haven’t purchased anything from Brooklynnn so I can’t say she’s selling fakes. Thanks for the post though, a must read for all buyers!

nkertesz
nkertesz I know some are even selling for high prices like 40, there are a lot of ways you can spot a fake such as the perforations on the plastic bag or larger clasps or the cardboard backing is not opalized. PM doesnt do anything about it, they took off genuine Gucci boots that I was selling because they said that they had a report that it was fake which was not true but they still have people selling the dog eared the same people who have even had multiple returns on fakes!!! I don’t get it!
Jun 07Reply
puppymomma
puppymomma @nkertesz yea I would email them about that it’s redic that they remove things like that but plenty of people sell fake items without consequences on here

kyraapaigee
kyraapaigee I bought a few items from kelsey488 and got them and I believe them to be fake. 3 necklaces for $17 (should have known better), and now in the process of submitting a case to PM. Pics from the Dogeared website, none of the actual product, multiple available, when I compare what I got to pictures, clasps different, tail on the unicorn different, necklace holder was printed on cardstock, etc.
