Hoping to help some of you before you get scammed into buying a fake MAC Lipstick. Ask for photo proof if you aren't sure! Sellers should be more than willing to prove authenticity! If you think you've been scammed you can take it to a MAC counter & ask! Lipsticks in the photos on the left are REAL, right are FAKE. Also, the FAKES don't have as smooth of a twist tube. MAC retails at $17 or more. Prices too good to be true usually are, beware of closets full of extremely low priced lipsticks.

mischiefmaker @hbs2244 I don't ever like giving names on Posh (drama) which is why I try to provide photo info. I will probably be adding more photos so the listing will change and I hope to get my hands on a fake to do a comparison myself and share it. But just always ask if the item is authentic. If they don't answer or block you, you know it's fake. Ask to see the tubes, box, and the name label on the box. The name label is a sticker on the real ones, not a printed name.

prettyizz Yes have been blocked by several ppl just for asking for more pictures, some are so blatantly fake,names of colors even wrong such as goldmire instead of goldmine,there is no shade called goldmire,just use the report feature and poshmark should contact and insist items be removed or they risk being kicked off

boots512 @mischiefmaker FYI- If you take any MAC item you bought anywhere other than MAC to the counter they're going to tell you it's fake. I sold an authentic Heroine lipstick (luckily I had the receipt) & the gal told me she took it to MAC & they told her it was fake.

boots512 @mischiefmaker And the girl she showed it to wasn't very smart because she told her it was obviously fake because of the broken M on the logo. But MAC's logo does have a broken M. They were surrounded by them. Crazy! So luckily I'm my own expert now and I don't need to take anything to them. 😚

mischiefmaker @welcome14 Sure, but first the fastest way to check would be if you already have any MAC lipsticks. Take your authentic MAC lipstick cap, and try to put it on the Cinderella lipsticks. If it doesn't fit (too small) then the Cinderellas are fake. To ME they do not look authentic but I want to get a second opinion. Let me know if you do the cap test. While doing the cap test you can also physically see if the Cinderella lipsticks are larger in size than real MAC you own.

I'm normally good at spotting fakes but totally got duped by someone on here who says their 'provider' is a MAC employee n I'm wrong. Everything about the packaging is off compared to real ones Ive purchased directly from MAC. Such a shame at the dishonesty on here
