linnix2001 What is THIS!!! omg, I love these!!! You are not going to believe this Anna, but I actually own the last hat in black!! It's amazing - a Möbius style, so the brim rolls under in back. Its for my Victorian steam punk days! Lol. I really like the first hat - which would of course be for when I'm gettin' my Downton Abbey on! :)

anna_redbridge @linnix2001 LOL!! these are samples that I found while searching on the web for a Russian style...tall...hat for @lynwags ! I'm going to try and make some similar ones (not exact because I create my own patterns, and it's unethical to copy unless you purchase the pattern!) I have some chunky yarn that I'm going to try. 😊 email me some pix (if you can) of the back of the hat, so I don't struggle too much to figure out the folds!! 😊

lynwags I am loving the 4th hat and after seeing what latinmischief had to say I think I would really need something like the kind of yarn used there. Big, fat, round face not good. And I'm thinking all one color. The first hat really has the height but I was wanting more like hanging folds, not so uniform or so structured with some height if that makes sense

lynwags I know the 4 pic doesn't have hanging folds. It looks like the folds are just scrunched together which I love as long as it wouldn't make it too flat. I'm sorry to be so psychotic. I just know you can make exactly what I want if I could just describe accurately

anna_redbridge @lynwags LOL!! You have a lot of confidence in me!! @latinmischief is right, but I can tell you that to get some height, the yarn needs to be a little stiff..chunkier does a better job,but I will try my best to design something like in Pix 4. Can you draw what you're looking for?

linnix2001 @anna_redbridge - i think you can achieve the height by making the top rings smaller. The version I have gets wider as you go down - like a wedding cake, if that makes any sense? So the top of the hat kind of sits on the crown of my ponderous melon head! LOL

anna_redbridge @linnix2001 LOL!! You are too funny!! I made the gray hat exactly as you explained...the top is much more narrower than the bottom... Tonight I tried with a soft velvet like yarn, but I didn't achieve what I wanted, so I took it all apart and restarted! My husband thinks I'm crazy, but if I don't LOVE it, I won't sell it!! LOL!!
