Anyone else disagree with this? My post office lady is always in awe that my buyers had to pay $4.99 for something that would of cost me $1.29 to ship. I think the $5.95 rate will definitely make me think twice of buying....really the $4:99 cost already held me back from purchasing cheaper items!!

I'm with you on that! $5 was already more than I wanted to pay!!
pastalana
AND it goes up again today! I think i'm done with Poshmark... :(
cglip99
@pastalana How much is shipping going up?
ssodano
😑😑😑
tam2tam
Same here, done if the fees are increasing. It's a lot already to have to cough up another $5.95 just to receive the item... =(
Just waiting on 2 more purchases then I'm out...
capcityhippie
They already take a 20% cut of every sale, which I think is a plenty fair compensation for using their platform. The shipping rates feel like just another way to take money away from our sales for themselves. They know the start and ending location of all shipments and that they are under 5 pounds. They are probably making as much off the insanely high shipping as some of the sales I've made. 😡 Anyone know of or use any similar apps?
regattamama
@kelly9090 you are spot on with your comment ... this increase will now just decrease sales for sellers ... tons of estores have servicea like shoprunner with free 2-day shipping ... to pay $6.49 for low cost items won't be worthwhile anymore
ghuggs
I completely agree. $6.49 shipping?! That's completely outrageous and blatantly greedy on their part. I'm out.

@kt086 thank you!

@kelly9090 I actually wasn't having any luck on Poshmark so I created UNItiques.com at my college which is basically like a younger, more campusy Poshmark. We take 15% and have lower shipping :) but anways the whole point of the website was to empower the women! thought it might be something you want to check out!
ashadrow
@kayray YES - I made www.UNItiques.com my senior year of college. We take 15% and even allow sellers to run promotions like promo codes & free shipping so that it doesn't come out of your sales. we also have a 33% seller success rate as compared to Poshmark's 7.5. That's because our website is tailored to a more niche, younger demographic. Typically we require a .edu email to join but I'm happy to give you an account. just email me alex @ unitiques.com (of course its free). xoxo.
capcityhippie
@ashadrow awesome! I actually have two .edu addresses so I should be good. I will check you guys out for sure. Sounds like a much more reasonable arrangement for buyers. I feel like posh usually makes more than I do on my sales. Thank you so much for the help!
ashadrow
I made www.UNItiques.com (as seen on Project Runway Startup on TV - we are partnered with Rebecca Minkoff) during college. We only take 15% and we also have a 33% seller success rate as compared to Poshmark's 7.5%. That's because our website is tailored to a more niche, younger demographic. Typically we require a .edu email to join but I'm happy to give you an account. just email me alex @ unitiques.com (its free) if this sounds like something you'd like!! xoxo.

jordanlynn96
I was amazed that I didn't receive a million notifications about the increase. At least with other sites I've had them send me multiple notifications advising of increased costs. This one completely shocked me! And I absolutely agree it makes me think twice about purchasing something. Typically I won't make a purchase unless I can bundle or get reduced shipping. But the shipping costs definitely deter me from one item purchases. And it's sad!
jordanlynn96
I agree also the post office always questions me about shipping. They have told me several times that they think the company isn't charging correctly for shipping. They are already making significant commissions on sales. Plus they get shipping fees from buyers. When is enough going to be enough?!? I already have to charge higher prices due to seller fees. Now my buyers get deterred even more because of shipping costs! Poshmark needs to restructure and make this right.
darkravin8
@mrscotter The shipping fee had stopped me from making multiple purchases. What would be a reasonable cost for an item suddenly sky rockets. Especially with me makeup and skincare. With shipping a lot of listings are higher then can be bought in store. 6.50 for am urban decay eyeshadow single that is 5oz? Ridiculous. I love poshmark but I think it may be time to breakup with it.
bb1974
This is so upsetting. I've been on Poshmark for a long time but I agree with everyone, time to look elsewhere. I was about to shop this eve after a long hiatus but stopped in my tracks when I noticed shipping is now $6.95!!!? Almost as much as the top I was going to purchase. Ridiculous. Shipping doesn't cost that much and they need to look at other options for buyers, especially those of us who used to make purchases and no longer do because of this issue 😪😒
hoetheplumber
I googled this to see if others were as over PM as I am. I had likes I was debating on, hesitant because the high cost of shipping per item adds up. I'm a very specific shopper, so bundling is impractical. I was ready to make purchases after doing the math, then noticed it went up AGAIN! $6.49 per piece of used clothing?! Greedy! It keeps going up, up! Time to walk away. It was a great concept, just poorly executed. I'd only use PM now for rare items you can't find anywhere else.
hoetheplumber
They should really offer standard shipping. I can wait 2 weeks.
ldloa
The new (outrageous) shipping rate is already in effect. I've loved using PM for a few years, but this defeats the purpose of purchasing or selling from this site. This is the line in the sand for me. 😔 I'm going to move to other sites. Hopefully some of my favorite sellers are already there.
einajr
I thought I was the only one with the concern! Good I'm not!
danibrielle
I was wondering why I haven't had any sales lately and then I realize the shipping price went up. This new shipping price is outrageous I'm going to have to lower my items or bundle items if I want to get any sales again shame on you Poshmark
melimelmel123
I agree, not gonna happen. It ends up being cheaper to sell on the Bay and you can charge actual shipping cost rather than this inflated flat shipping cost BS.
tuckslemonade
I'm just seeing this increase now. I am so done! M.e.r.c.a.r.i all the way! They even have the option to private chat now which in my opinion is great! They actually have reasonable shipping fees and only take 10%. I think PM just totally shot themselves in the foot!
yuliku
Wow!! The shipping is more than $6 now!! They already charge 20% fee and now ridiculous shipping. I have M account too, but for some reason I sell more here, even my price on M is lower. This shipping cost will make me think twice before I shop here. I'd rather go to outlet. Usually the outlet price for brand new cloth (Vince, G star, etc) is lower than here. They are pushing too much with their shipping fee. Is their any other platform for cloth resell, that anybody could recommend?
yomammawashere
So it's 6.49 now? Lost me as a customer. It's not even worth it now. The shipping is more than the clothes I'm buying.
angiieebaby
Just noticed it's 6.95! Are they crazy... I'm ordering like a tshirt why could that weigh
hellocrittyb
I shipped something the other day, she said why is there $6.95 on this when it cost $1.29 to ship??
fancyricenbeans
This shipping cost absolutely deters me from making a lot of purchases. Paying $10 for an item, then $6.50 to have it shipped is so annoying. I agree that it is just for the company to pocket additional funds.
hey2u2
Most of the sellers have accurate pricing on their items and it sucks that I have to offer lower just to make it balance out to what they are offering for. I don't get why Poshmark doesn't just offer two options: one for expedited shipping and one for ground. 90% of the time I don't need items that quickly and they would still be able to track whether an item was delivered with a tracking number. It really deters me from buying items when the shipping is half of what the actual item is.
christinemac
I totally agree... now shipping is over $6! Unless somehow the site changes to allow one shipping rate for purchases from multiple buyers, I don't see me making any more purchases at all
smilenini
It is ridiculous don't even think about trying to ship less expensive items you can't eat that huge cost. Now they are up to 6.49 which will eliminate most items maybe that is their plan? They don't want low cost items but people are looking for bargains.
shampton37
I hope in the near future they can do something to make shipping free or something within reason like 1.99-2.99 max. I mean they could pay the shipping difference or something! The cost to ship has stopped me from making many purchases - high or low pricing or not. It’s like if I order 5 items from 5 different sellars that’s a whopping 32 or 33 dollars I have to eat for shipping costs when they are making an overly fair amount off items being sold on their site.
everjane
Sales are too slow or nonexistent on this App. No wonder.. shipping is ridiculously expensive here. Almost $7 to ship something that is light as a feather. If Poshmark wants to stick around and have longevity, they need to lower the high shipping cost, because people are starting to stop using this app.
missbubbles12
I'm out too
qonradchen
It's ironic - what probably happened was already-stagnated sales from increasing the shipping cost the first time. Then, in order to combat their decreased revenue as people moved away from this app, PM raised the shipping cost again. Talk about short-sighted strategies...
jaymelyna
Wanted to make a purchase but this ship fee just priced the item out:( Shipping costs more than the item which is only 3 ounces. That's real sad
miandna
I remember when there were special weekends or events where there was a day of free shipping. Good times
laceymaupin
@capcityhippie have you tried Vinted? They do different shipping rates for different size packages, not to mention their rates just went down! AND they don’t take a penny of your sale. You keep all of it! Only downfall for me personally is, I get more sales on here 😡
capcityhippie
@laceymaupin oh really? Thanks for the heads up! I might check it out! I do eBay as well but posh definitely gets a higher volume of sales.
hopedaily1
I think they need to renegotiate and share these negotiations with Posh mark since we are the ones that pay these fees. Anyway I think this should be used to get items to the public but not the only marketing. Good ole garage sales are free. Sometimes I shake my head when after a sale I will have to be creative...commission and customers iffy about shipping fees I will loose more in the long run than I gain trying to discount what is already discounted.
hopedaily1
We should all send request that posh have a second option for light weight items non breakable items and shoes.
hopedaily1
@capcityhippie I wish I could see those so called negotiations they said they tried to have. If Ebay can give us a choice on shipping Posh can too. I think blaming it on "negotiations with USPS" is weak excuse unless we can see that they actually tried...I am from Missouri.
capcityhippie
@hopebailey111 I also don’t like the option to offer discounted or free shipping as they have it set up. If you take money off the item cost then that is split between you and posh but if you offer free shipping then they take the full amount directly out of your profit instead of splitting it 80/20. Shady.
saumya271
I am a buyer. $6.49 is extremely hard-hitting and deter me from buying. I had emailed Posh suggesting an option for slower and cheaper shipping. I think they did the opposite :/ I am going to go back to ebay and look for other platforms now.
_the_rack
@laceymaupin vinted does offer a $4 light shipping but it's only up to half a pound... the next up is $7 which is same as posh 😭
_the_rack
@laceymaupin I feel you on the annoying part of sales coming in here 😂 most of my sales are 50/50 between posh and merc literally nothing comes from vinted... does anyone literally get any sales from vinted lol? I feel like I have a gazillion likes but no sales there
akraft28
Shipping costs are WAY TOO HIGH!! Posh is greedy AF
tpryor86
I sell mostly on Mer. And they just raised their shipping rates.. AGAIN! No one wants to pay 8.00 for. 1-3 lb package ( which is a pair of jeans, etc.) and they raised there small package to 4.25 but that only covers up to 1 lb. This shipping nonsense needs to stop on all sites like this! It’s crap! I’ve lost a lot of sales on here and on mer. Bc of shipping, if I offer free shipping after their fees I make practically nothing.
tweetyjaylove
I have to agree, shipping is ridiculous!! Paying more in shipping than some items is ridiculous! Especially for used items that I can buy new at the same price (shipping cost included) I’m done.....
valdrigue
I've asked sellers if they were willing to sell on merc but they aren't. why is that so?
valdrigue
paying 6.49 shipping on a $8 item is beyond ridiculous.
valdrigue
I've seen a seller selling a Mac liner here for $17 and with the 6.49 shipping included, it costs more to buy from here than a brand new one at the Mac store or Macy's with free shipping lol
rjoaquin1
Yea no way I’m paying for the item plus $6.95 for shipping when it should be less than half of that
mypolarisstar
100% concur
coalily
I agree. I was just about to buy a shirt, but $6.49 is too much. It could be sent in a padded envelope for much less.
rojagzz
So I was just thinking this minutes ago, that I would definitely buy more stuff and probably sell more if shipping wasn’t this high, I think it doesn’t make sense and it’s something it needs to be addressed
juliasheehan960
Are there any other websites like poshmark? Well there is ebay but more like just fashion oriented?
juliasheehan960
Also what if we as sellers just DM eachother and send it ourselves use poshmark for the advertisement and take it upon our hands to ship?
hattack
@juliasheehan960 how do you DM on poshmark?
hattack
@regattamama agreed. Poshmark shipping cost is ridiculous, and there isn't enough wiggle room to give buyers discounts. After shipping cost and seller fees, profits are very small.
mjt_attire
Now its $3.79
lifeislovee3
They just increased it from 6.49 to 6.79 🙄🙄
lilyn1228
@lifeislovee3 this makes me not want to buy or sell on poshmark because i don’t want to lowball people but at the same time i don’t want to be spending $7 in shipping and i also don’t want to be jacking prices up just so i can make some money because of the 20% poshmark commission fee. this shipping rate has got me very angry with poshmark!!
starrn1007
Not mention people are so reluctant to give someone a good deal anymore because of how much the posh fee is. Shipping is insane. I love the concept of posh and buy and sell a lot here but it’s getting harder and harder
content777
Gees. So Marie Kondo has made me want to get rid of things and not wait for it to sell on Posh. My prices are too low(my choice) to even make money with new shipping rates. How crazy. Oh well, it was okay for a season I guess!
a_tatou
Aaaand now it's even more exorbitant at $6.79--just INSANE. How can this be good business?
nikkie206
I’d much rather pay a few bucks and wait a week then $6.75. They definitely have to be doing it for their own advantage.
hand1214
In the last three weeks I've purchased 10 different items. I have paid almost $70 in shipping. I think I'm done... :(
graywildflower
I wish there was a way to adjust the shipping besides the private offers. I add a free gift to try and help the sting of the shipping price. There are a lot of things I would love to buy but i can't justify the crazy shipping fee. I am also not going to low ball anyone because as a seller I know if they go any lower they won't be making squat. The bottom line is not only is Posh making the 20% they are making a lot off shipping.
armkandybags
20% commission + $7 shipping + sales taxes now !!! 🙄😖 ... I’m moving on to Vinted and Depop now . Posh is ridiculous
treitz7080
@capcityhippie Merc is way cheaper, as is eBay. They also have support that you can actually CALL! An they don't ask you to do their job in reviewing listings that may be selling fakes. The shipping prices vary on those sites since the seller gets to decide how much to charge. Charging priority prices for things that may weigh much less, AND allowing a week for sellers to chip makes no sense. Why force priority shipping if you still may not get your item for almost 10 days?
treitz7080
I was gonna buy a used bra for $20 today which is already ridiculous. Add on $7 for shipping, and now $2 for tax, $30. Sorry, I can buy brand new on sale WAY cheaper and have the options to return! Ebay is wayyyyyyy better.
ohainina
Sad to say their platform has superior performance, but the shipping cost is a deterrent unless buying heavy items like shoes. I haven't had many sales after shipping hit over 5 dollars, now it's almost 7. Nor have I bought lightweight items since. Looking for an alternative. :(
kel0315
We should all just boycott. Posh should offer different shipping options like m e r c. Half of my items weigh less than a pound and buyers don’t wanna spend $7 shipping when it would only cost $2 to ship. It causes so many people to low ball, so you basically hardly earn any money considering the ridiculous amount posh takes for commission also. I wish more people would shop on merc because posh is BS.
kel0315
Posh is definitely not losing money over shipping costs. Let’s be real, there’s only one possible reason why they’re charging so much. The word is called GREED.
hdakers
@ashadrow is an .edu address a necessity? Thank you very much in advance. Heather
hdakers
Hi there. I am brand new and already a little addicted b the shipping fee is excessive. Is anyone familiar with other apps or websites like PM that have more reasonable shipping fees besides EBay? Thank you. -heather
atalie_nay
@hdakers I also would like to know. I spent $70 in shipping fees alone these last two days....
hdakers
@atalie_nay it’s just ridiculous!
xris10
I haven't bought anything in MONTHS b/c of the ridiculous shipping cost. It's robbery! It's complete bull$h*+ that they charge that amount but don't offer standard shipping. I don't have a problem with waiting. I wish all the sellers would go to EBay or some other site. Poshmark is just gonna keep going up as long as people buy from here.
radiantlyregal
So my SO is a post master. For business purchases.... I sell jewelry.... it costs me about 2.99 to ship once piece of jewelry on average. So I’m a little outraged and would love it if they allowed us to ship ourselves with the promise of a tracking number like other sites.
belart777
@miandna lol
belart777
@radiantlyregal totally..does not make sense to sell costume jewelry here
radiantlyregal
@belart777 Why is that?? I don’t sell just costume jewelry. I also sell fine jewelry. Also I’ve already sold some....
belart777
@radiantlyregal fine jewelry yes ..shipping charges are just so crazy high ...not worth to sell cheaper items
kellyavic
shipping and taxes are ruining poshmark for buyers and sellers!!! Totally ridiculous!!!!! by the time it all adds up you could buy it new with free shipping!
kirstdp
I’m just seeing this post but I do agree. I don’t even buy on here anymore because I see a cute item and think I’m getting such a great deal until I get almost all the added fees.... what a weird way to try to get people to want to use this app
murphyclark
I am so happy to finally find something like this! I truly don’t understand how they can charge so much for shipping. They need to get on Mercaris level bc there you pick weight & chose who pays for shipping. See Next Comment for continuation of comment.
murphyclark
I haven’t sold much on here in a while and it’s bc of fees on the sellers end, it makes you list things for way more than you want bc you don’t get much out of it, and the shipping cost makes me as a consumer not want to buy . Poshmark is making out like bandits and it’s crazy. They are raking in the dough on both ends w every single sale. I don’t see how it’s not a form of price gouging.
murphyclark
I have a ton more listed on M.e.r.c.a.r.i msnyder7
r_achellle
@murphyclark is mercury better?
r_achellle
I agreee
murphyclark
@r_achellle I feel like I sell more on there, lower fees and seller can pick shipping weight and can offer free shipping.
amadela86
@ldloa any good sites u know off?
kamchotka
It will be $7.11 tomorrow! 🤢
lassigirl6
@kamchotka why can’t they make a shipping for items under one lb. They make it very hard for people to sell jewelry on this site. 7.11 plus tax on a little ring? I don’t understand why they don’t have this like every other platform does.
gaskjp
@kamchotka, @lassigirl6 ~ What a joke!! Another shipping increase to $7.11? And the seller still gets 7+ days to ship? No way. My item I just purchased weighs about 2 ounces and still has not shipped. 6 days I have waited. Sellers should get 2-3 MAX to ship. Especially at this exorbitant rate. On the M_ r _ a _ i site sellers can even offer FREE shipping. Poshmark is literally sending customers elsewhere. Sad :(
kamchotka
@lassigirl6 Agreed!!! 😫
kamchotka
@gaskjp It's very sad!
kimleebdap
$7.11 starting tomorrow smh.
lassigirl6
@gaskjp I believe they are going to lose a lot of sellers due to this. I started selling non eBay and I’m going to be putting more effort into that. They are great with shipping and give discounts. I have loads of jewelry and I fell like I need to sell it without much of a profit with these shipping prices now. I don’t really understand why they just can’t have another shipping for up to a pound. Doesn’t really make much sense to me
bingeshop_net
@julie5566 its 7.11 now
bingeshop_net
Looks like it got raised again to 7.11
bingeshop_net
@alexisburket looks like it got raised now to 7.11
queenof_glam
I'll be listing elsewhere, not only are they getting 20%, that should quality for free shipping over a certain amount.... I'll be listing elsewhere, ridiculous
reyna_poshmark
@bingeshop_net I just saw this! I end up offering free or discounted shipping already bc the shipping cost seems to be the reason buyers don’t purchase right away... now it’s higher. 🙄
kacassad
@julie5566 amen all that. I have been discounting shipping as it is and now more out of my pocket. Isn’t there another site that starts with a M
kendalrose22
@kacassad M e r c a r i. They only take 10% and you can chose your shipping fee.
itzjenn8
@kendaljesse13 do they send the mailing label to your email or do you have to go to the post office?
kendalrose22
@itzjenn8 You’re sent a printing label just like on Poshmark through email.
itzjenn8
@kendaljesse13 thanks. I guess I will move over there to sell after this last price increase
drretro
@gaskjp Agreed. I hope Poshmark reads these comments. Shipping costs were already ridiculously high, especially that most items weigh less than a pound, and defeat the purpose of great deals. I will be forced to find other avenues for selling as high shipping costs deter my sales further. $7.11 is unnecessary!
drretro
I also find it unsavory business practice to have a sly change overnight without notice to your users. Time to look for other venues...
ladyxui
I was so disappointed to see this this morning. There should be cheaper shipping for smaller items like jewelry and socks. ☹
gaskjp
@julie5566 You are spot on. I have not purchased many items due to shipping costs. And the buyer feels bad giving such a low offer but they always have to add the overpriced shipping to their equation.
gaskjp
@itzjenn8 @kendaljesse13 M E R C A R I also allows free shipping. It makes complete sense, especially for items that weigh next to nothing.
gaskjp
Everyone should go here: https://support.poshmark.com/s/contactsupport?language=en_US and express their frustrations.
kacassad
@julie5566 true. What a pain but I started an account in M but haven’t done anything. Looks very odd to me guess I will have to navigate and figure it out
kacassad
@julie5566 I love how nice everyone is on posh.
_lm
UGHHHH JUST NOTICED THE $7.11 SHIPPING!! This is ridiculous and unfair.
heather11white
@lydiana same! and no prior notification???
_lm
@heather11white EXACTLY!! Bad business practice. As if we wouldn’t notice the change. 😤
bethuhhknee
Crazy that shipping has gone up so much, I’ve only been selling on here for maybe 2 years and shipping has gone up from $6.49 to $7.11. It seems like it has gone up at least 30 cents every year or so that I’ve been on here. And it definitely does not cost that much to ship certain items. I wish they had a way to classify items by weight like other selling platforms. It only makes sense...
lavender_thrift
HA today it’s now $7.11. Screw Poshmark.
lavender_thrift
@bethuhhknee in 2015 they did 99 cent shipping on lowered prices EVERY Friday and holiday. It was amazing. They’re frauds.
bethuhhknee
@allisonx49 it really is ridiculous! I submitted a complaint because it’s not fair for buyers or sellers because everyone is getting ripped off except for Poshmark whose profiting on the 20% they take from sales AND the shipping which absolutely DOES NOT cost $7.11 to ship most items!
lavender_thrift
@bethuhhknee lol I know I have shipped items myself on other apps and stuff and it’s like $2-$3 to ship shirts and pants etc. they’re a joke.
k9moose
@kamchotka As a seller, I don’t recall being notified of the shipping rate increase, ugh Poshmark! $6.79 was already too high and too few buyers bundle. Too much of a time sucker constantly sharing; no one wants to pay $7.11 to ship clothing items, Poshmark should have LOWERED shipping rates, not sneakily RAISE them on us.
kamchotka
@bethuhhknee True story! 👍
kamchotka
@bethuhhknee It was $4.99 in 2015 shen I joined and just escalated from there. The shipping is now more expensive than Anthropologie's standard shipping. 🙄
laila1498
And now it’s $7.11 😣
masternaut
@laila1498 Yeah absolutely bullshit Time to go to another platform.
gaskjp
@bethuhhknee I submitted a complaint as well. The reply I got (which, by the way does not address my original request to have a nominal shipping rate for items that weigh mere ounces) blamed it on USPS rate increases. And Poshmark says they already pay a portion of the shipping cost. REALLY?? So they are saying an item that weighs 3 ounces costs MORE than $7.11 to ship? Fraudulent for sure. Highway robbery.
princessgang
ok well now i will be negotiating outside this app, since i can pay less and the seller can make more if we discuss our own deal 🤷🏼♀️
bethuhhknee
@gaskjp I’ve shipped things on other platforms and the most it costs to ship lower weight items is $2.99 and only $4.99 for packages that weigh 1 pound definitely not $7.11. The only way I can even imagine it costing that much is if they’re are doing it by the 5 pound weight limit but most items sold don’t even come close to weighing that much so it’s just a way for them to profit.
hellooandee
I don’t buy on this app solely because of the shipping cost. It’s kind of insane when I can get free shipping or $2-4 shipping on other platforms
javish7
@hellooandee true a $5 used tshirt goes up to 12 with the shipping
katherine_b
I feel the same way I always think twice about buying anything because the shipping cost. They should let us chose to pay for our own shipping.
bettiedodson65
@kt086 I think they are high as well
yellowbirdsings
@ashadrow I understand your conversation. but I think it's really wrong to use the app you're bashing to promote your own business. take it off line for those of us who like it here.
alittlefolly
@drretro agree
cwet
its 7.11 now lol im done
adriennemeyers
@k9moose I agree. I noticed today that the shipping costs went up and it’s ridiculous. If you go to the post office I’m pretty sure their fees did not go up, so why is Poshmark increasing their’s this is just going to impact the sellers bottom line and buyers may be hesitant to purchase Items, especially the inexpensive ones
emilymerrick1
Outrageous! They not only make the buyer pay a shipping fee but they also take a % from sellers and I don’t think that is fair. I sell on another app called Vinted, which is not too popular but they have always made sure there is no profit taken from sellers, you get to keep your whole sale and shipping is reasonable for buyers too! If anyone is interested in looking up my store on that app my user is: emilymerrickk 🤗
desi_posher
Did they increase the shipping cost to $7.11?? I did not see any announcement. This is OUTRAGEOUS!!! I am done buying.
sunnyparadise
Shipping is now $ 7.11 on Poshmark ! So high ! I haven’t sold anything since they raised it to that 😔 And I have over 2,000 items for sale .
sunnyparadise
@adriennemeyers They did go up at the post office .
sunnyparadise
I also give free gifts with every order .
chess408
SO aggravating! Posh takes 20% + $7.11 shipping then have the SLICK means of charging sales tax ON THE TOTAL INCLUDING SHIPPING CHARGE. Is that even legal? 🤔🙄 I have never seen anything like it... so for a $10 top: seller gets $8 while buyer has to pay $20. My sales have drastically fallen over the past year... now I’m lucky to sell anything. If this is going to be standard practice PM will end up failing. AT LEAST offer free shipping days periodically. 😡🤬
sunnyparadise
@2fullcloset Huh ? Also why does it matter if I started 6 months ago ? I’ve sold $1,500 since then . Just now this week I haven’t sold anything since the shipping went up . What’s this other platform you are talking about ?
sunnyparadise
To be honest though I sell on EBay , and Bonanza and sales are slow everywhere .
enic8180
Well this just stinks.. I've loves getting things for myself and my girls from this site but man shipping costs are too much. so sad.. for buyers and sellers that they would do this.. greed is a horrible thing.
bbmartini
@allisonx49 I just noticed the shipping increase! also, the seller discount is like $2 now!! I know for a fact that it doesn’t cost $7.11 to ship a package that probably weighs less than .5oz. They’re totally pocketing the change.
sammiestylez
This is awfulll :(((
hbrew10
Omg I just noticed the shipping increase to 7.11!! I wish they atleast did a special discount shipping day or something! I’d legit buy so many more items from different sellers. This changes everything and now it’s gonna make it harder to want to buy things.
emilyoleary616
now it's $7.11, duck this im out
danzer400
When did this increase happen and why was no notice send out to poshers?
sunnyparadise
@emilyoleary616 Actually at the post office now , to send a package priority flat rate it is more . Like $8.99 so Poshmark is actually cheaper shipping.
sunnyparadise
@danzer400 They did a email.
emilyoleary616
@bathbeautystore ok but if i want to buy a $4 t-shirt it's actually going to cost nearly $12 if you add shipping and tax, im just saying that the shipping cost is ridiculous compared to what is was in the past
fashion_scrilla
The shipping fees now are intense and absurd
sunnyparadise
@emilyoleary616 I feel that way about the post office too . To send a lipstick at the post office the cheapest shipping is now almost $5.00 . Shipping went up and it sucks . I didn’t say it didn’t suck . And I also sell a lot of low priced items .
handyhollie
This is wrong! This means that if something is like $20, the final total is going to be close to $30 after tax and shipping. After that you might as well buy it new in a store.
danzer400
@bathbeautystore touché
gaskjp
@bathbeautystore The problem with Priority Flat Rate is the seller has SEVEN days to ship. As a buyer I do not want to pay top dollar to ship if the seller can take that long. It does not make sense. At least for low weight items. A happy medium would be nice :)
savon
Are you shitting me? It’s $7.11 now?!?
sunnyparadise
@gaskjp 7 days to ship ? Online sites I sell on I ship the same day or the next day . Priority flat rate .
sunnyparadise
@savon Yes $7.11
sherlandea
Agree shipping in now at $7.11, ridiculous..Flat fee should never be more than $4.99
gaskjp
@bathbeautystore That is wonderful that you ship within two days. Poshmark gives the seller 7 days to ship. Then you have to add the 2-3 days of priority mail. In the case of my last purchase, the seller never shipped. Nor responded to any comments. The high cost of shipping and the lousy sellers make me re-think trying Poshmark again.
sunnyparadise
@gaskjp I usually ship the same day 😊 I also send free gifts with every purchase 😊🌈♥️
queensransom1
It’s terrible for the seller also... I know what my buyer is paying for shipping and so I try to adjust cost of item to compensate or offer them reduced shipping. So between a couple bucks on shipping discount (seller pays discount) and the fees to Poshmark, let’s not include the purchase price of item and shipping supplies and gas it’s definitely not been paying to sell lately 🤨
queensransom1
@gaskjp I always ship within a day but I’ve bought from sellers that never ship so I hear you. On a 15$ item if I offer a discount of $3 and reduced shipping (I pay for that) and Poshmark fee plus the initial cost of item I’m literally paying to sell my items lol
queensransom1
@julie5566 definitely!
queensransom1
@kendaljesse13 I’m trying M
jessicacope86
Nonsense!!!! Gone from $4.99 to $7.11... come on. Most of these items could ship for $3-4 if we shipped ourselves. We need the option to ship on our own, like other sites offers.
shaysc3
$7.11 to ship a pair of earrings. That is ridiculous!!! No wonder no one is buying them.
shaysc3
@jessicacope86 I agree with you. It would cheaper if we shipped ourselves.
nikki1992
@jessicacope86 agreed this is getting ridiculous, if they want to up the shipping coast they should at least decrease the percentage they make off our sales! Poshmark is definitely pocketing from some of these Shipping fees. There is no reason why if i buy a pair of earrings that weight and ounce or two should cost 7 bucks CRAZY. Thats why (m e r c a r i) is gaining so much popular rather sell and buy there !
artemis1234
This is nuts! Will no longer buy nor sell here. Your hunger to rake people over the coals will be the end of you. Greedy PM.
artemis1234
BTW, I was hoping you would come to your senses and LOWER shipping. Goodbye!
dollyvomit
Yeah I'm done with Poshmark. I'm not paying $7 shipping for one item. Totally ridiculous. Bad enough It used to be 5. Bye! Off to a different app.
renatabrooks
SHIPPING AT $7,11 Seriously ????? Its way too high !
renatabrooks
@artemis1234 AGREED!!!!!!!!!
renatabrooks
@jessicacope86 7,11 is absolutely ridiculous
freanatri
@capcityhippie m e r c a r i
sunnyparadise
@freanatri Nothings selling on there either .
ccar414
@renatabrooks exactly it’s getting outrageous- I love Poshmark but when the costs are exceeding what you can buy new they are pricing themselves out of business
renatabrooks
@ccar414 you are so right !!! I rather buy at OfferUp, fb market, eBay, because the shipping cost makes the price of the product goes closer to the new one
m_ivy
I have two complaints about the Poshmark shipping price: 1. If I want to buy an item that is $6-$10, I really can't justify it any longer because it would cost about as much OR MORE to ship it. 2. I finally started selling right before this recent increase and wanted to keep my prices low to encourage sales and bundles but am now concerned that I won't have any sales because, well, see point number one...
laurynmystery
@m_ivy totally agree! Shipping is now 7$ like WHAT THE HELL????
laurynmystery
If anyone finds an alternative app let me know! I do t have a FB so the market is out:( ...
tulathrift
@laurynmystery m e r c a r i is a great app! Shipping is 2.99-4.99 for most clothing!
tulathrift
Poshmark fees are pure greed! I’m really starting to hate selling on this app
tulathrift
@milkyghost m e r c a r i
tulathrift
@artemis1234 or at least lower the poshmark fees!! Pure greed!
laurynmystery
@tulathrift i had that app but the customer service is terrible and I found not many people use that app:( I was barely selling on it
brelena_rose
The new shipping is ridiculously high!! $7.11? That’s not worth it unless I bundle like 4 items together. Also as a seller the amount you guys take out for “seller” fees in massive and pure greedy
filmgoddess
I totally agree this new shipping increase is crazy, I was already having trouble selling from the other increase. Other platforms offer far more reasonable shipping so it’s clear PM is getting a cut. Plus the fact that they increased it in such a sneaky way without notifying anyone is incredibly deceptive. I just lowered stuff in my closet but I’m going to be looking for alternative selling platforms myself.
content777
I am out. I had to close shop for a few days and came back to this nonsense. 🥴My prices cannot be lowered any lower to offer a discount with shipping. Smh🤦♀️. Suggestions?
mytoothfairy
I agree that the shipping cost is too high. Poshmark should have more options for shipping especially with small items that don’t weight too much like a pair of small earrings
lcross316
Did we get an email or any kind of notification that shipping was going up to over $7?? I’m reading all of these comments from when shipping increased last time & I didn’t even notice it went up again until I was offering someone a discount last week! Makes me so sad b/c I have really enjoyed poshmark & now feel like I’m going to have to try something else!
kristeng910
Absolutely outrageous shipping costs, plus the substantial Poshmark fee totally not right. Lucky to make even a few dollars on some of my lower listings.
jackson0910
@ghuggs now it's over 7.00
diegon01
i just realized the fees increased. This is no longer affordable unless you are buying and selling high end items. Sadly I will have to find another platform to sell my items. 🙁 @poshmark
rdemarco21
$7.11 shipping is RIDICULOUS. Anyone think contacting Poshmark to complain is worth a shot??
cinthiabltrn
I thought I was the only one with this concern!, I’m already looking for other options too. Shipping costs are too high!
senoracimino
I have barely been using poshmark since this increase. the cost is just not unreasonable. I'm planning to buy and sell elsewhere.
aehallum
@filmgoddess if you have any children’s clothing I have had some luck with k i d i z e n. They do adult clothes too but I don’t think they sell well on there. You get to pick your shipping price and they still send a label.
907jen
I'm curious to know what the NSA is between the USPS and Poshmark. In Posh's defense, 3-day priority starts at $7.50, so $7.11 is a reduced rate. That being said, it is possible Posh negotiated an even lower rate, but simply isn't passing that to its users. We get cheaper shipping based, but I'd prefer if Posh had more shipping options than 3-day priority. I'd be happy with ground if cheaper.
sweettables
@pastalana same
sunnyparadise
@907jen priority flat rate is now $8.50 at the post office . Postage had gone up again .
morgyncronan
It’s insane to upgrade an extra couple pounds is $8-$10! I’m pissed right now
907jen
@bathbeautystore If that is true, it merely reinforces my point that Posh has an NSA that does, despite user griping, benefit us. $7.11 isn't cheap, but it's cheaper than $8.50. I am likely a minority opinion.
sunnyparadise
@907jen Yes it’s true ! $8.50
sharkgirl23
I can’t believe the shipping price is now at $7.11 Soon before you know it it’s gonna be at $10 haha this app is a joke. Whether your buying or selling you’re losing money. Better off taking your business to M er ca ri or D e p o p
gaskjp
@bathbeautystore Back to my original gripe. Ok, so priority shipping is $8.50 at the post office. As a buyer who has waited up to 7 days for a seller to ship because of the silly Poshmark policy, why would I need to pay for priority shipping? By this time I have already waited way too long for the seller to ship. Just offer ground rates. Minimal ground rates for items under 1 lb. And thank you again for not being that "slow shipper" :)
veronikaxu
And now is $7.11 for something that cost only $2 on other platforms?
Why can’t they offer shipping based on weight ?
sunnyparadise
@gaskjp I ship the same day 😊 And always send free gifts too 😊 Shame on the sellers that’s take forever to ship or respond to questions .
veronikaxu
@capcityhippie merc and eb are better
sharkgirl23
@veronikaxu I too don’t understand why they don’t give us different options for shipping
txsbrat93
Shipping is $7.11?! What the hell??!!!? Okay then. I’m not even shopping on here anymore, I hope Poshmark crashes and burns for being greedy af
txsbrat93
I’m amazed I sold a $6 item a few days ago, now knowing what the shipping price is.....
lisaballz
The shipping price on Poshmark is too much. $7.11 now? I pay for priority but the seller has 7 days to ship? No thanks. I’ve spent A LOT OF MONEY on this platform but Merc and DPop is where I’ll do most of my online thriving now. Hey Poshmark..... you’re crushing the profits of your sellers and screwing your buyers, like me.
luvjillian
I’ve also stopped trying. This site is making itself irrelevant with fees + overpriced shipping.
I’ve already shifted focus to another platform.
pinupchickvs
@luvjillian what site is it that you are using PLEASE HELP!!!!
My sales have plummeted since this shipping increase. I use Mer
Cari but it doesn’t seem to move fast enough. Any suggestions ?! 😫
leacalifornia
I’d been making an average of a sale per week but haven’t made any this month 😔 maybe it’s coincidence? I think the types of shopping people will do on posh will change, with less low price purchases and more selective high end items... 🤷🏻♀️ I love this community and hope Poshmark listens to its feedback
zymiller7
@lisaballz same here because $7.11 is wayyyyyy too expensive and essentially eliminates the discount of the item
fancylover314
@darkravin8 Same. Just sold a prom dress for $115 and postmark fee took $23 off my earning. I'm left with $92. In addition, you can't get in contact with them over the phone. Only though emails. This will probably be my last selling experience in Poshmark.
fancylover314
I'm pissed because the dress is brand new and I bought it pricey. I could have put the dress for a higher price so I can get near the amount I spent on it but the fact that I have to increase the price for costumers because of the fee is disappointing.
fancylover314
$23 poshmark fee is a lot
hellsbellsak
Now it’s over $7!!!!! My sales have pretty much dried up since they did this & I have over 1000 available listings. It’s a real bummer, I wish they would reconsider this horrible decision.
hellsbellsak
@kelly9090 I fully agree here! My sales have totally dried up since the increase. & I have over 1000 items for sale. I’m so bummed because I’ve built my closet up over the last couple of years & have spent a ton of time using Poshmark. I’m listing on other selling sites & not doing any new listings on Poshmark. I’d rather they took 22% of the sale & make the shipping more affordable for buyers. They are just scaring buyers away with over $7 shipping.
hellsbellsak
@capcityhippie They won’t let anyone list the names of other sites but you can surely google it. I’m having to diversify now since I’m not making any sales on Poshmark since the shipping hike😭
christinalove
@jkzimm04 ~hello!...does the other site you are speaking of do well?...i heard of it, but i am curious about actual sales there!
tamfitz
I Hardly ever buy anything on poshmark because the shipping is ridiculous!!!
I don't sell; signed up to buy... but i can't justify spending over $7 for shipping most of the time! Vintedapp has MUCH better shipping prices! Maybe if tons of people leave poshmark, they will bring the shipping cost back down!
meghancons
“as low as possible” my ASS. $7.11?!?!?! and then to not notify your app users about it???? i didn’t know it increased until it caught my eye on the app!
celiachavez_
the reason I don't come often, I don't want to ruffle feathers, but, when people price used items at almost what you'll pay at specials in TJMax Macy's andand most don't seem to considerate that rightnow Mar 13, 2020 the shipping and handling is at 8.00 besides I think PM gets a big part of that 🤬
lollieann
BYE POSHMARK!!
cherrymonsoon
Now it’s $7.11 this is crazy
turnerhop
@cherrymonsoon should shipping go back down?
cherrymonsoon
@turnerhop it used to be $5.12 or 5. Something and buyers will be reluctant to purchase
turnerhop
@cherrymonsoon yes Ik I’m not wanting to purchase stuff Bc it’s so High rn
valllag
$7.11 now?!?!? We all need to move to Ⓜ️ercari and e🅱️🅰️y until Poshmark stops being so dang greedy! This is ridiculous.
chigirlnohio
The increase in shipping on Posh is totally outrageous. I understand offering your users a flat shipping rate however, it should definitely be geared towards the weight. Shipping a child’s plastic bracelet & ring set vs a bundle of denim jeans & shoes should not cost the same.
chigirlnohio
This definitely slows down sells for the Seller and deters the Buyer. Also Posh taking a 20% of the earnings (in addition to the cost of shipping) is already too much and leaves very little room for Seller to 1)make profit or in some cases 2)break even.
chigirlnohio
Therefore, i’ve found that Posh is typically good for items that have minimal value to the Seller (meaning...you’d donate the item to goodwill but if you’re happy if a few buck can be made). There are so many other Platforms that only take 10%, help the Seller move their items via promotions & engage their Buyers through rewards. In my humble opinion, Posh will become a selling platform of the past if they don’t figure out how to revamp their site & increase their usability.
emilythacker107
over $7 now!
yours_truly_21
This is crazy whos gonna pay 7.11 for a used item that cost $7 dollars they end up paying $14 might as well get it new in the store
ccinslc
Could not agree more... There are 4 shirts I'm interested in (all from different sellers of course) and at $10 per shirt, I end up paying $40 for the clothing items and almost $30 for total shipping... There's just no way I can justify that for shipping (especially when there is no way it would cost more than ~$3 or $4 to ship a shirt... it hardly weighs anything and can be smooshed into a small package!)... I feel bad for the sellers losing out on all of these sales
jamunz
Um excuse me? $7.11 to ship a top I’m listing for $5? I’m making less than $1-2 bucks on it and you’re getting 20% plus $6 of the $7.11 shipping to line your greedy pockets? Done w desi guys. This is what happens when the wrong kind of person is the ceo 👎
sarahinfante83
if I buy a ring I refuse to pay 7.11 for shipping. huge reason why I don't buy on poshmark
dhary23
@sarahinfante83 im going to delete my account just for that reason!!!
wpeach
This is why I don't buy and am moving elsewhere...
blue_flower3
@ashadrow I’m going to try it... I’ll need an .edu. Thx
blue_flower3
@ashadrow I can’t find the site??
shopcacti
@ashadrow Can I please join too?? Sounds like a place closer to what I’m looking for!
mxiong1994
Does anyone know why the shipping rate has increased so much? It used to be so much less. It used to be only about $4.99 but now it’s all the way up to around $7?
vivian265
Those commercials where the women say they made enough to buy a new car or pay for their family's vacation by selling on poshmark...I can't imagine that to be true.
gretchenalbe725
I really don’t understand why my nice new mascara would cost over $7 to ship. I can’t sell it on here
thehandbagdiva
@bb1974 thank god you’re not Canadian, shipping for posh in Canada is $12.99 & that’s only within Canada so it’s absurd. I wanted a $13 baseball hat but I’m not paying double for it, even if I buy two, a third of my total is going towards shipping.
thehandbagdiva
@chigirlnohio I’ve closed my closet & am thinking of a new direction. I’m in Canada where shipping is $12.99🤬 & I sell luxury items. It really hurts when you lose hundreds of dollars
chigirlnohio
@pinkysposhpad sorry to hear u’v had to close ur shop, unfortunately a lot of individuals have or are doing the same. The good thing is that people are still buying therefore, I would strongly encourage you to look into other platforms that are available. Good luck to you🙏🏽
markith
I am a buyer and there's A LOT of cool stuff on poshmark but $7+ to ship something that should cost $2.80 is a deal breaker...just a very stupid move by them.
kimberlyhung
@laurynmystery iuse the new app called C U R T S Y it's still 20% but you can adjust your own shipping rates and there's a reward system for buying stuff and selling. you can use my code for $10 off your first purchase
kimberlyhung
@valllag i use the new app called C U R T S Y it's still 20% but you can adjust your own shipping rates and there's a reward system for buying stuff and selling. you can use my code for $10 off your first purchase it'sOAZDF
kimberlyhung
the code is OAZDF @laurynmystery
nlkm9
@ladyxui yep buyer here who is done . 7.11 is crazy and i feel like i cannot buy here anymore . Rip off
mcdonovan457
@ashadrow is your website still up and running?
lisa_carols_7
Postal service has got to get their dig!
garza90
Omg yes it’s ridiculous,, I will no longer be making offers to my likers. I will literally be making pennies,, the 20 percent is already enough now just to make offers an extra 4.99! Im so done with posh if people want to buy my items I’m just going to have to wait for them to make an offer. Poshmark is going to lose a lot of business,,,
I won’t be putting all the effort like I have done for years anymore.
Yes I’m angry 😤 lol
caseykelly88
I AM SOOOO OVER THE RIDICULOUS SHIPPING RATES ON POSHMARK!! IT makes me reconsider selling as sometimes it almost as expensive for the shipping and the cut they take! It’s RIDICULOUS!!
coralfangs
I wish they offered retail rates like other platforms do.
jessymelo
Yep, I’m also very angry about the shipping, waaay too expensive, it makes no sense!!! Bye bye Poshmark
mizzmimi3
The shipping has increased drastically... awww that is terrible. Guess we will be parting ways
millon
Shipping rates are so high and items don’t deliver on time. Disappointed in the high fees and feeling sorry for sellers/buyers.
nik2881
Chaps my a$$ that I’m paying over $7 for priority when the shipper takes a week to even ship the item🙄$7.11 for basically 10 day shipping? Hard pass. I have many items in my wishlist that’ll never get purchased because I can’t justify paying that much in shipping on an $8 makeup brush. Thanks for stiffing us PM😡
rightseat
Me too. I’ve stopped using posh bc of shopping. Might as well pay retail.
rightseat
Edit: “shipping” not shipping.
vanillaflower4
It's 7.11 now... so terrible
vtjg2018
That’s why I only shop on the days they offer free shipping and only those days. Like yesterday they offered free shipping all day but other than that I will not buy anything from Poshmark because the shipping rate is outrageous and ridiculous. (robbers)
lupeivan
@vtjg2018 I passed up on some pants that are $20 + 7.11 + 1.80 tax = 28.91?? Greedy apps like this are ruining the game for people man
thesarahpelts
Your shipping rates are higher than the prices themselves sometimes. Absolutely disgusting
amylee163
The shipping and cut that postmark takes out is absolutely absurd. who will pay 4.99 shipping or 7.99 shipping on a 10 dollar item!! I've deleted this app so many times because its frustrating! its not even worth it half the time.
elf2306
I haven't used posh since this increase its just ridiculous I can afford a 5$ shirt but then add 8$ to ship it nahhhhh
jayes27
I was pretty certain I was going to start selling on poshmark but after seeing how shipping is orchestrated, I'm out. The whole premise is a complete scam. Poshmark will continue to raise shipping costs so long as ppl keep supporting the platform. Take a stand and move on.
aylaaktan
It is because of the $7.11 shipping that I have not bought a few items off of here that I would otherwise have loved to own because they were a good deal, outside of the exorbitant shipping.
Unfortunately, paying almost half the cost of the item itself to shipping is both absurd and not worth it at all. I will just go to a place that is either offers free shipping or cheaper shipping.
Although I am a buyer, I also think a 20% cut is incredibly, especially with such ridiculous shipping costs.
rockhartt
Same page. F*** this.
skittlesluv4201
I just downloaded this app and I'm deleting. 7 bucks per an item? hard pass. byeee.
tati_lk
@aylaaktan and shipping increased AGAIN! $7.45 now((( can’t believe it...
aylaaktan
@taxti yeah.... screw that bs, either sellers are gonna be dropping their prices for shipping more now or I don’t know. Also, I don’t know why more sellers don’t use a place like Facebook.... it’s way better.
aylaaktan
@skittlesluv4201 I only buy if I’m not paying the full shipping cost to be honest, unless the item is some crazy steal where even with shipping it’s an amazing find.
aylaaktan
@jayes27 what I don’t get is why do so many people (sellers) still sell on here. If sellers boycott this site, then Poshmark may wake up. As long as people continue to sell, they don’t care, why would they?
tati_lk
@ffliberty $7.45 now ☹️
tati_lk
@fancyricenbeans $7.45 now!!!
😖I sell stuff $10 and lower - and who wants to pay shipping equal items price?
...most retailers offer free shipping for buyers, and lower commercial rates for sellers - and PM makes us to walk away(((
aylaaktan
@taxti I definitely know as a buyer I do not buy stuff that is has a shipping more than the product’s price itself unless the deal is so amazing, even with shipping the cost is still reasonable. Unfortunately with this site that is rarely the case.
I have found way better luck on Facebook Marketplace honestly.
triadpc7605
As a seller (and Posh Ambassador) who sells mostly lower priced and lightweight items, I just sent this email to Poshmark support.
With USPS increasing rates, we as sellers need more affordable shipping options for items under 1lb, which would qualify for USPS 1st Class Mail rates.
As sellers we are losing out on many sales as the default $7.45 shipping fee is killing us on small and lower priced items (i.e. items under $10). No buyer is going to pay almost the same amount in shipping costs t
triadpc7605
that the item is selling for.
Please work out a deal with the USPS that will allow your sellers to ship smaller and cheaper items at USPS 1st Class Mail rates. A prime example is your competitor (eBay) is now allowing you to ship sports cards items under 3oz at $.91 and that price includes tracking. If this continues, I may have to close my closet and go back to eBay, even though I just earned Posh Ambassador status. With the already 20% Posh fees, there should be better built-in discounted
faith1074
$7.45 this is crazy! Every year they keep upping it even more! I don’t get why this is so expensive and don’t give buyer options on shipping? You mail out a pair of shirts that don’t even weigh a pound and that’s $7.45? Or a tiny eye shadow? Makes no sense!
shoppinglexi
@faith1074 Right? Makes me not even want to use Poshmark anymore honestly. I’ve been using M#rcari more and more!
faith1074
@shoppinglexi Yep me to! This has become ridiculous!
papirbyrd
wow. i just noticed the now 7.45 shipping rate and found this thread while searching for answers to what i was seeing. ive only been selling on posh for a short while, but to see that regular shipping rate used to only be 4.99?? just wow... with so many people being dissatisfied with all the burden that falls on the sellers (including the fact that poshmarks customer service seems to only respond to buyer issues) what can we do?? just leave?
aylaaktan
@faith1074 Lol... it makes complete sense, Poshmark is getting greedy and are wanting to make more money than they already make off of sellers. It's that simple, unfortunate, but as long as sellers continue to sell on here, they won't care or listen to what sellers want. Companies like this will only start to listen if their wallet starts to hurt. 🤷🏻♀️
aylaaktan
@papirbyrd I would say yes, Poshmark doesn't care at all about the sellers and until they start to feel the impact (financially) of sellers leaving because they are being taken advantage of, they won't change a single thing.
papirbyrd
does anyone have any experience to compare the different resale platforms vs "eyeGee/pay-friend" ??
papirbyrd
also, does Mer🚙ee charge their fees and taxes AFTER adding on shipping the way posh does? i dont have any experience with other platforms, just trying to weigh my options for whats best
aylaaktan
@papirbyrd as a buyer and seller, I love Facebook Marketplace and it seems like not many people talk about that site. 🤷🏻♀️
papirbyrd
when you sell on there, is it like an extension of your personal account? or are you able to set up a separate "store"
aylaaktan
@papirbyrd i mean you could create a whole separate Facebook account dedicated to your "store"; however, most people will probably think you're a scammer since just about everyone uses their personal account to sell.
I know when I shop on there, if I am wondering if something or someone is legitimate, I will see their seller rating and then maybe look at the account to see if it looks fake (if they don't have any reviews for some reason).
lizziede
SO greedy it’s almost $8 now

Oh it's unbelievable. And they still take their 20% and we have to eat shipping costs to even sell anything. I use FB marketplace and like it better! Cash no questions asked. This site is so greedy and I hate how sellers have to GIVE crap away just to sell anything. I didn't like Me🚙ri and E bay sucks, so where can we go to reach a life audience like Poshmark? I didnt mind $5 shipping but now its out of control.

@vtjg2018 how do you get those alerts?
love_lemon
@lizziede right! This is getting Insane for both the seller and buyer. Looking elsewhere
lizziede
@love_lemon exactly - I asked someone about it and they said “oh all rates are up a lot right now because of COVID!” but everywhere else I shop has like $4-6 fees

Many items on poshmark are on FB too. Poshmark has better search/browse, but once you know the item, can find it on FB. Please list items on FB too. Perhaps use a unique code to find on FB? Then the seller/buyer can determine shipping instead of imposed top-down by Poshmark. I just paid $7.95 to ship a $9 pair of shoes. That is very high per item. It would help if we could sort liked items by seller, or if Poshmark platform found a bundle from liked items.

In Canada the flat rate shipping is $13.49!!!! It stops me from buying and selling.

@kt086 for some reason it won't let me make a $25 offer on a $35 item though.

7.45 to ship is crazy

This is going to be a Poshmark crisis! What are they thinking ?!! This bad for buyers and sellers… how can sellers make their profit with a small side business, not even business- a side hustle and how can buyers not have to pay freaking almost $8 shipping for a $18 lipstick. They already take 20% from the sellers purchase plus tax plus the price we lower from retail already… and now the shipping is higher???
bellabossbeauty
It’s not even worth it to sell lower than retail value but no one’s is coming in your closet to buy something they can buy at the store for the same price . Poshmark says it’s best to lower your items retail price by 30%-50% to get a sale. Wtf? So let me already give 30% off retail , give 20% to Poshmark and give discounted shipping . Literally not even a reasonable profit.

This is bad for sellers and buyers . Who wants to buy a $15 lipstick with $8 shipping . It’s frustrating for both . I had a bundle of 4 items all below retail price and gave $5.95 discount and at the end of it all, it’s like I gave two of those items for free. This is a cluster F**k and idk 🤷🏻♀️ what else to say about it

Lord this is a listing from last year . It’s February 23 and they increased their shipping to almost $8
