I have recently been slammed with ridiculous lowball offers. These are extremely insulting and from this point when received the low baller will be blocked from my closet. Low balling will not get you a "good deal" and will most likely get you blocked from many closets. Think about what you are about to offer and be realistic otherwise don't bother...you are wasting my time and yours! Lowballers, do you realize that Posh takes 20%? Adding lowballers names and offers so all Posher can know.

@nutri $30.00 NWT TOP AND HER OFFER WAS $10.00.

I just had someone offer $30 on a $250 watch I had listed for $99. So annoying!

tutuohtoo
@moonybell ...feel free to copy what I did above. I am so sick of these lowballers😡😡. I am tired of this happening and until we start calling them out on it we may never get it to stop. I normally don't believe in humiliation but when people offer insultingly low prices I feel like this is the only way to send a message. Sorry that has happened to you...I wish Posh would set a limit on the offers such as no less than 35% of the asking price.💕

@reyes221 offered $8.00 for a Men's Panhandle Slim Western Shirt priced at $22.00...LOWBALLER. Needless to say offer was declined.

Just had someone offer a way lowball offer on a bundle I have posted of several Brand New items that I have listed for $15 and they offered $7. BLOCKED immediately.

@thisnthat316 it’s ridiculous! I would love to blame the virus but people were rude long before this pandemic! I’m so sorry😢

I keep getting offers of HALF of what I am asking. I have been selling for a long time on other platforms too. I research pricing and availability along with what other items (if available) are selling for. Poshmark must know this is a problem and the EASY fix would be to either to give the option not to accept offers or automatic decline below a certain amount. Other platforms use this and it works and it puts the lowballers to rest to a point.

@nu2ushuguru I agree. I have almost stopped using Posh for this reason. It’s becoming more like an upscale Goodwill. When it first started and there weren’t so many people on it, it was much better. Now it seems people just want to shop and lowball for anything they can get. I so wish we had other choices😢

@lemonwacki There are options but they all have pros and cons. It used to bother me so much when I got a negative review AND the issue that it's MY fault something doesn't fit! I would like to know who the person is that has that "true to size" foot!😂 They are similar but PM does seem neutral when it comes to issues and love the 3 days and its yours! Hopefully PM will do something to combat the problem. Reality is, we don't make money, neither do they. Maybe a petition?🤔

@meimei26 offered $26 and free shipping on a competitively priced $45 listing that already has discounted shipping. I took a look at her closet and sure enough, she is a reseller. We know what our items go for... 🙄
I had another person give me a 1 star review after he bought an item full price months after he got tired of me declining and ignoring $35 offers on a $160 NWT listing.

pretty_vacant
I say “offer”… More like “demanded”.
Aug 13Reply

tutuohtoo
@pretty_vacant unfortunately Poshmark has become filled with people who want to troll closets, have no listings themselves or want to sell trashed out items that look like they have been stuffed in trash bags. The sale of reproductions and fakes on here has also gotten out of hand. It’s disappointing to say the least😢

Anytime someone lowballs me, I counter offer at the lowest price I'd do and if they still want it lower I just ignore. At least I respond to their request 🤷♀️

@breezelane hey there, just give me a shout here my friend. I would be happy to answer any questions you might have if I can or refer you to other Poshers who are awesome and helpful. Thank you for your sweet compliment and I hope to hear from you soon😊🌷

@lemonwacki Tell me what you think: I got an offer that I’m willing to accept, however, another party showed a LOT of interest on the same item almost immediately after I posted it. They weren’t able to offer what I wanted, but CLOSE. Im CONSIDERING replying to this buyer in the listing comments & let them know that I received an offer, what the offer is, let them know that I plan on accepting it, but wanted to give them a chance to beat it….
Sep 02Reply

breezelane
@lemonwacki They messaged me MANY times, making it obvious they really want it, so I want them to have the opportunity, but I don’t know if that’s “tacky”, as the buyer who HAS made offer could possibly see the comment, nor do I want to violate rules (IF there is a policy against this). The offer is only good for so long, so i need to act fast! Thoughts?
Sep 02Reply

tutuohtoo
@breezelane you could counter both offers with your lowest and whoever meets your price is the one you could take. The counter starts the clock over. I wouldn’t tell another buyer that I had offers, just let the process of natural selection take it’s course and it keeps you out of any trouble with Posh.

@lemonwacki SECOND Question:I need some clarification on shipping costs. If buyer pays full price for shipping, but you ship a feather that would only cost the price of a postage stamp, there is no reimbursement to the seller OR poshmark, yes? Conversely, if you ship a pair of shoes that cost more than the $7.45 the buyer pays, Poshmark doesn’t charge the seller for the difference, right? How does discount shipping affect this? I saw some comments recently that made me want to be certain.
Sep 02Reply

breezelane
@lemonwacki How do you send an offer to ONE buyer? I’m sorry for asking questions that seem to have such a simple answer, but totally elude me…🥴
Sep 02Reply

tutuohtoo
@breezelane when you send an offer you have the option of offering discounted shipping. I don’t ever offer free shipping because I don’t like to incur the shipping costs when I’m already taking a 20% hit. I usually just do reduced shipping where we are both bearing some of the costs.
Sep 02Reply

breezelane
@lemonwacki can’t counter the “thirsty” buyer…she was messy with the offers…maybe too much wine with dinner…no judgement, BUT she made offers she cancelled, so I can’t counter.
Sep 02Reply

tutuohtoo
@breezelane click on the bag with the plus sign between the like button and the share button. This will put it into a bundle for them and I believe from that point you can make an offer to any person who liked your item because their name will come up when you hit the bag with the plus sign and you can choose the buyer then👍🏻

breezelane
@lemonwacki You are a saint and a genius rolled into one amazing human!!!
Sep 02Reply

tutuohtoo
@breezelane you are funny and I thank you for the compliment but I don’t believe I am worthy of such high praise. I hope you get some good offers tho and your closet is beautiful. I have to take some pics and add to mine but my Momma passed away two months ago and I’ve sort of been in a funk😢

@nu2ushuguru I like that idea…

@pretty_vacant I had the same situation on a posh seller… Major prices on the items they sell. Then they lowball you… I have been blocking anyone who goes under 50% on anything…
Oct 08Reply

nu2ushuguru
@catheyging It is a good idea, just will PM do it? I am seeing the new trend of offering HALF of what I am asking. It's just a waste of time, period. Sometimes I block them because let's be honest, are they ever going to come close to what am I asking? No. They just don't get PM takes 20%, and then they want FREE shipping. I can't help that I have what they want but they don't have the bank! Trying to buy a $50 pair of shoes for $20 because that's all they have in their account. Priorities!
Oct 08Reply

tutuohtoo
@nu2ushuguru @catheyging ladies, I don’t think this would even be an issue PM would get involved with, sadly. They are just too large now. I’m incredibly opposed to the shipping rates for a simple necklace or earrings especially after sending a package to a friend that was 2 day priority, 11 pounds weight and measurements of 11x11x9. There should be a sliding postage rate for different weights. I usually use other sites now.
Oct 08Reply

alehbaba
@nu2ushuguru you should just raise your prices x 2x
Nov 22Reply

alehbaba
@tutuohtoo when you send an offer you have to offer some discounted shipping… that’s what I don’t like. You can’t just offer with no discount shipping
Nov 22Reply

tutuohtoo
@alehbaba that’s why I rarely send offers anymore. The mandatory discounted shipping is ridiculous and if PM wants us to do that maybe they should only take 10% instead of 20%. I use marketplace more than any resale sites now except for e$*Bay I consider them to still be fair.

Many of my low ballers have been sellers like myself. I look through their closets, block them, and many of them have higher prices than I do. 🚫 🤣
