amberdavusI'm so sorry for your loss. I truly am. My dad passed away when I was 15 years old 6 days before my birthday and 16 days before Christmas. It'll be 6 years in December. He was only 48. You and your family will be in my prayers. Again I am so very sorry 💙

itsajonesthang@tezza630 THANK YOU SO MUCH! So many kind heated poshers! Probably the worst part of this story and THE MOST UNBELIEVABLE IS...... My fiancēs father passed that day as well! They both passed exactly 12 hours apart March 4th 2016! We have had each other to lean on but this has been the hardest year of my life! Thanx posh friend!❤️🙏🏻

tezza630😔🔲🔲🔲😔🔲🔲🔲😔🔲🔲🔲😔🔲🔲🔲😔 Brandy, my gosh, that's so sad and shocking. That will certainly be a difficult day for both of you, but also, in a way, a bond to share. Your dad looks like such a sweet, loving man. And he was a musician? 😽💚

Sep 15Reply

itsajonesthang@tezza630 Yes mam! He would take the shirt off his back for anyone! Or give his last dollar if he thought someone needed it😪 He was my hero! He was a very kind hearted Christian, giving, loving, never met a stranger type of man that worked so hard his entire life! I miss him so much! He had a stroke and it paralyzed his entire left side. He got too weak and couldn't eat until it got to a point where I think he was just ready to go home.

itsajonesthang@elleemann I'm not too certain about the great daughter I was but HE WAS THE BEST DAD!! After his stroke I did try taking care of him as best I could! That's all that matters! I love all of you for your sincerity! Thank you my posh friends! PFF!!❤️❤️

Sep 17Reply

heavensparadise@brandylu69 Aww Brandy I am so sorry you lost your dad in March. I do know how terribly your heart hurts. I lost my dad when I was 13 to cancer. I was a daddy's girl also. It still seems like to was yesterday. Time does help make it better.

Sep 17Reply

heavensparadise@brandylu69 My whole life changed that day. He had no life insurance and we were extremely poor but by the grace of God we made it thru. Thanks to the help of my older siblings. I just had to bury one of them in May. That was my sis Pat. Her daughter is the one in my profile picture.

Sep 17Reply

heavensparadise@brandylu69 Rachel lost her dad 5 years & 21 days before losing her mom. Both due to issues with there kidneys. How ironic that was!! They have a bench that Pat bought before she passed away. That we are having to finish paying for before they will allow Pats name to be added to it. I just thank god the bench is there. It drives Rachel crazy that her moms name is not on it.

Sep 20Reply

itsajonesthang@tezza630 absolutely! And not to get off subject here but I'm a little confused on this entire bundle thing? I have people that are adding to a bundle but not getting more than than that item or purchasing it? HELP?? Lol

Sep 20Reply

tezza630😂🔲🔲😂🔲🔲😂🔲🔲😂 Lol, Brandy, don't worry, this has confused everyone! I have discovered that sometimes when others intend to share your items, they mistakenly touch the "bundle" button instead. This happens to me all the time in the app! - my fat thumbs start buying items before I realize it! Lol! Heck, I've purchased "parties" before and had to cancel! If you don't see further activity by them, it's probably an error. You can always contact them & they can cancel it. 😽💚

cricket6187Your very welcome, your dad was such a cutie. I use to do hospice cares before i had my stroke at age 50. So i miss it very much, and pray i can get back to it. That was 4 years ago already. My job was my passion, in life.

Sep 25Reply

itsajonesthang@cricket6187 WOW! My dad would have loved you! He loved everyone and never met a stranger! He was so active until he had his stroke which left him paralyzed on his left side. I worked with him almost every day and had him walking some with a cane until I started having seizures myself and was hospitalized. After which he went downhill from there. He never complained no matter how much pain he was in! I'm so sorry for your stroke and will keep you in my prayers!

Sep 25Reply

cricket6187Your so sweet thanks. Im working hard to get better, but i really did love hospice cares. I made my clients comfortable, and took the best hands on care, to them. I treated them like a friend, and they could tell me anything, and i wouldnt tell anyone. It was rewarding...

twirlsncurlsHey girl! I'm sorry for your loss 😔 I'll share some items to help! My posh advice is that if you have the time, share share share! Active poshers will most likely share back. The posh parties are great for seeing who's currently poshing. You have great items. My posh pictures have evolved over the years. I realized that minimal backgrounds and natural light works best for me. Like find a unique hanger or knob and hang a dress against a white wall in natural light. It really helps!

Jan 01Reply

dotseyqueenThe ornament is such a wonderful tribute of your daddy. My prayers are with you. This was the second Christmas without my dad and it was hard, but the weirdest thing happened. Just outside my front door 2 red roses are trying to bloom on a bush that had been dormant. My Moms name was rose and my dad grew red roses for her. I believe God has given me a sign by showing me those two flower buds in this cold rainy Seattle weather.

I hope you know that your dad is still with you... he always will be. ❤️Amanda

Feb 17Reply

itsajonesthang@belovedsparrow thank you so much for stopping by just to give me another reason to keep doing what I'm doing here💓💓.

Feb 17Reply

itsajonesthang@rmccouture Amanda, I am so sorry to hear of your loss💓. The day my dad passed, my father in law passed as well and it too was from dementia. I know that disease all too well and it's a very painful thing to watch feeling helpless. I'm so sorry again and my closet is always open if you need a friend. Thank you so much for sharing your story with me💓💓

Feb 17Reply

shopofthemomentSending big love! Can't imagine... My dad is still with us but he has Alzheimer's. What a horrible disease. It robs you of everything you ever were or did or loved. It's been so painful watching him go through it and dealing with all the craziness. Smooches 💋

Feb 19Reply

itsajonesthang@shopofthemoment First, thank you for taking the time to stop by and share your story with me💕. I'm very familiar with Alzheimer's because my husbands dad had Dementia and passed away exactly 12 hours before my dad March 4th 2016! It was a horrific time in our lives and very troubling to watch. I'm so very sorry for the pain you are having to endure but please know that even though you may not know me personally, I'm a very good listener and am only a comment away😊❤️

Mar 09Reply

shopofthemoment@spoiledpff thank you. I know you get it 😘💋

Mar 25Reply

gollysue@spoiledpff hi I was fighting the Monday blues and just sharing randomly tonight. Ran across your post about your daddy that you lost a year ago. For that I am so sorry. I do know how you feel. I lost my daddy too, however I was only 20 and now I am 63. He died way too young at 67. It is so true that you never stop missing them, loving them cherishing them nor forgetting them.

Mar 28Reply

gollysueMy mom is gone now too. She died in 2011 and I miss her so. But I know they are both waiting for me and someday God will have us all together again. May he richly bless you and your family with the fire of his love.👵🏻❤❤

Mar 28Reply

itsajonesthang@shopofthemoment 🙏😘

Mar 28Reply

itsajonesthang@saltydarling Thank you so much😘

Mar 28Reply

itsajonesthang@gollysue Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and read my story but also for sharing yours💕🙏. I'm so very sorry for the loss of both of your parents😔 It is very hard but I too know that God has a plan for us all to be together again one day🙏❤️. I feel so grateful for all of my posh friends like you😘🙏

Mar 28Reply

gollysue@spoiledpff I agree… When I read negative comments about Poshmark it makes me want to cry because there is so much good here but I know that trying to fight those negative comments would just bring more. So those of us who know how great it is will just have to keep going. I know that Poshmark feels the love.

Mar 28Reply

itsajonesthang@gollysue ABSOLUTELY! I know exactly what you mean. If people only knew how much energy it takes out of someone to be so cruel they would realize how positive they could do with that energy to put toward the good😊

Mar 28Reply

gollysue@spoiledpff that is so true… It is such a waste of time… A waste of love. There really is only time to love… Everything else just eats into "Love's Time" doesn't it? 🌹❤🕊

itsajonesthang@czarley This is so hard to read knowing about the first grandchild especially is so sad and heartbreaking. Feb was my dads birth month so that too ironic. Apr 13Reply

itsajonesthang@chirpya I'm sorry about the grandchild part! I was reading a couple of comments below after I read yours and put the 2 together in my mind I think but I realized it and wanted to explain. So sorry about that.❤️

Apr 13Reply

itsajonesthang@chirpya I guess for me it has been the best thing I have done in his memory! Every time I get sad I go this and I see so many beautiful people reaching out and sharing their stories with me, someone they have never met but can relate too. My dad was, in my eyes, the best man in the world! He was my hero! POSHMARK and all of its community helped me to pay for his beautiful headstone and for that I am forever grateful! Thank you for reading my story🙏

itsajonesthang@heavensparadise Thank you so much🙏! He will always be dearly missed but I know he is with Jesus and has a mansion in the sky🙏💖

May 15Reply

heavensparadise@spoiledpff Aww Brandy. I am so happy to hear that he is in heaven. After all we both know heaven is paradise that's why I changed my closet name. I don't know if you remember that I took care of my sister Pat who lost her battle to liver cancer May 19th of last year. She told me and my nephew that heaven was beautiful 4 days before she went to heaven.

May 15Reply

heavensparadise@spoiledpff She was very alert and not on any type of morphine or narcotics yet. She had such a huge smile and was reaching toward heaven. So I asked her if she saw Ed her deceased husband. She said no. I said what do you see sis? She said heaven and its so beautiful. I cried tears of joy to know that she was on her way there.

May 15Reply

heavensparadise@spoiledpff I wanted you to hear this because if you ever have any doubt. I want to tell you about being blessed to be able to hear her. It was her way to assure me that heaven is real. I had a dream the week I changed my closet name and in my dream. Pat told me that god wanted me to change my closet name to heaven is paradise. So I sent the request to change it in.

May 15Reply

heavensparadise@spoiledpff I now have Pat's handicap daughter Rachel and it's such a pleasure being able to love and care for her until they are one day reunited in heaven. They talked a lot about dancing in heaven before she passed. Rachel told me before I left on vacation that her mom and her danced in her dream. That was the next night after I had my dream. God is good. Sending you a virtual hug my dear. 💋💋

May 15Reply

itsajonesthang@heavensparadise WOW! I'm in ahh right now at your story!😪I do remember you taking care of Pat and I recall the story touching my heart because of what my husband and I were going through. His dad passed away the same day as my dad only 12 hrs apart from each other and I think it was the hardest week of our lives to go through both in one day but had each other! Thank you for sharing with me! It has touched my heart

May 15Reply

heavensparadise@spoiledpff Wow both 12 hours apart that is unheard of. Keeping y'all in my prayers. God bless you my friend!! Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you!!

He died in my mother's arms in his home. Your story is touching .. i will continue to do all I can to help . Prayers to you always .. 🙏🏻

allaribaltaI feel your pain!! My Dad - also my HERO - died in May & I'm devastated! I'm new to Poshmark and really enjoying it. Was just checking things out, sharing...& happened upon your post. Immediately, tears are streaming down my cheeks! My father was my world too! What a lovely thing for you to do - to honor your Dad with your post. Just wanted to send you a virtual hug...as I share your pain!!😘

Sep 06Reply

drownprettyI too lost my dad in 2002 when I was 17. I miss him every day. You'll get a great "dad hug" when you see each other again!! ❤️ God bless ❤️

Sep 06Reply

poshlashMy dad just retired and since I'm still at home due to a brain tumor issue, I've been working on making the relationship with him that I haven't had in the past. I have been terrified by just the thought of either of my parents dying. So I'm trying to make the best of the short time we have left! 💖God is so good to turn a bad situation into an amazing experience!

redheadesign@spoiledpff hi there I’m Terry it does my heart good to read all the beautiful comments and caring. I too lost my father it’ll be 7 yrs ago this Jan. My husband lost his father 3 weeks before I lost mine so I can relate the double pain. A father’s love is always missed. The pain gets easier but it’s still so hard. ESP around the holidays. I’m an only child so we really watch over my mother and mk sure she’s ok and never alone around the holidays. Hugs and I’m so sorry for your loss.

barbieclosetI shared a little extra for you, no one as young as you should lose their daddy, this made me sad especially since my dad is in the hospital today getting a hip replacement, he did well and will be fine but reading your story made me realize how very blessed I am to be on the verge of 60 years old and still have both parents. I’m very sorry, I know it’s been a bit but it never gets easy. 🤗💝💝💝💝💝😘😘😘😘😘

itsajonesthang@crunyon037 Just wanted to check and see how you were doing? I look at this and the comments from time to time when I’m feeling down and missing my dad and thought of you

Jan 09Reply

itsajonesthang@crunyon037 Oh my goodness that would be amazing! Just the thought of of him looking down with a smile on his face is enough to make me want to cry! I miss him so much and like you said it’s hard but I just take it day by day! See, my husbands father passed away the same day my my dad did exactly 12 hrs apart! It was the most horrifying week of my life to lose both my dad and my father in law in the same day! Going to 2 funerals and 2 wakes

Jan 09Reply

itsajonesthang@crunyon037 it was definitely a lot to try and take in at once but as the old saying goes... God will never put more on you than you can handle! I almost questioned that one then but had to stay strong for my mom, kids, and of course my husband! I also know the feeling of an animal being like family as well! I’ve had the same little shitzu for going on 16 years and she’s like a child to me! She’s battled cancer twice and made it through and is now in the clear, PTL! Ty for the chats!

aliciainbaglandHi Brandy... Just wanted to say My Condolences re your father’s loss. It is a special bond the same happened to your fiancé just a few hours apart. My father’s bday is on April 5, (2 more hours) and read all your postings, tears down my face. Thank you for sharing. Mine passed away when I was 12yo, but he lives in my heart forever! ❤️

Apr 05Reply

itsajonesthang@aliciainbagland First let me say how truly sorry I am for your horrible loss at such a young time in your life! I was fortunate enough to have many years with my hero! Thank you so much for your kind words and I pray that my posts somehow brings you some peace at this time in your life! If Heaven had a phone I would call your DAD and tell him Happy Birthday! I’m positive that he is proud of you and watches over you! Thank you again!

Apr 05Reply

aliciainbagland@spoiledpff Thank you! You’re very sweet. It’s hard to believe I only had him for a short time, but I was “Daddy’s Little Girl!” and I was always w him only. We communicate through #37. He sold a ticket that won a Raffle (a brand new 5 bdrm mansion in Mexico) and he had psychic gifts. Ticket #37. Some of my prices are #37! I inherited those gifts, too! Hard to believe, but I was a witness of how he proved his gifts! 😊

Apr 05Reply

lvdoxies@cutenthrifty I apologize. I was responding to your Sept. post on this Poshers site (“spoiledpff”) - just reading her posts about losing her Dad and thinking of my young daughter who lost her Dad , my dear ex-, last Christmas . Which in turn made me think of my parents... ahhh the thought process ! Again , please pardon me if I caused you any discomfort! And you do have a lovely closet! 🤗🙏🏻

Apr 05Reply

itsajonesthang@aliciainbagland Sorry I’m just seeing your last comment! THIS IS AMAZING! I LOVE IT! I can only imagine how it must feel to have that number pop up in places and times out of no where! Thank you so much for sharing your story with me!❤️

Apr 05Reply

itsajonesthang@lvdoxies I’m so sorry for your loss and your daughters loss! It’s so hard! Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read my post!

Apr 05Reply

aliciainbagland@spoiledpff Yes! Cars cut me off and their plates end in 37, etc. The MOST AMAZING to me was the day I got my SAG card (Union for actors), they called out #37 and NO ONE was there! They called it several times and I thought: Who would missed this appt!??? I then realized my father was saying “I’m proud of you, my Little One for becoming SAG!”😊🙏 Happy Birthday to my Daddy, today April 5!☺️

Apr 05Reply

myztureeSounds like your Dad and my Dad were “brothers from other mothers;” definitely cut from the same cloth. I empathize with you and your fiancé/husband (I assume by now you might have married). I send prayers for comfort, healing, fond memories to help you smile in those toughest times of sorrow, and the will to keep moving forward

Apr 16Reply

myztureein the moments where grief feels like it is almost more than you can bear, to you, your loved ones, those affected by your respective losses, and to those who have also chimed in to let you know you aren’t alone on this thread. One day at a time, everyone. #TenYearsThisJuly 09.06.35-07.09.09. #Daddy’sGirls 😭😇🙇🏽‍♀️🙏🏽💙💔💗 Agreed, no greater suffering in this world than the loss of a child or parent.
