amberdavus I'm so sorry for your loss. I truly am. My dad passed away when I was 15 years old 6 days before my birthday and 16 days before Christmas. It'll be 6 years in December. He was only 48. You and your family will be in my prayers. Again I am so very sorry 💙

They both passed exactly 12 hours apart March 4th 2016! We have had each other to lean on but this has been the hardest year of my life! Thanx posh friend!❤️🙏🏻

itsajonesthang @tezza630 Yes mam! He would take the shirt off his back for anyone! Or give his last dollar if he thought someone needed it😪 He was my hero! He was a very kind hearted Christian, giving, loving, never met a stranger type of man that worked so hard his entire life! I miss him so much! He had a stroke and it paralyzed his entire left side. He got too weak and couldn't eat until it got to a point where I think he was just ready to go home.

itsajonesthang @elleemann I'm not too certain about the great daughter I was but HE WAS THE BEST DAD!! After his stroke I did try taking care of him as best I could! I missed so much of my kids athletics so that I could be with him but I do have regrets! As I'm sure we all do! But God knows all about my struggles and regrets and he knows my heart! heavensparadise @brandylu69 My whole life changed that day. He had no life insurance and we were extremely poor but by the grace of God we made it thru. Thanks to the help of my older siblings. I just had to bury one of them in May. That was my sis Pat. Her daughter is the one in my profile picture.

heavensparadise @brandylu69 Rachel lost her dad 5 years & 21 days before losing her mom. Both due to issues with there kidneys. How ironic that was!! They have a bench that Pat bought before she passed away. That we are having to finish paying for before they will allow Pats name to be added to it. I just thank god the bench is there. It drives Rachel crazy that her moms name is not on it.

cricket6187 Your very welcome, your dad was such a cutie. I use to do hospice cares before i had my stroke at age 50. So i miss it very much, and pray i can get back to it. That was 4 years ago already. My job was my passion, in life.

itsajonesthang @cricket6187 WOW! My dad would have loved you! He loved everyone and never met a stranger! He was so active until he had his stroke which left him paralyzed on his left side. I worked with him almost every day and had him walking some with a cane until I started having seizures myself and was hospitalized. After which he went downhill from there. He never complained no matter how much pain he was in! I'm so sorry for your stroke and will keep you in my prayers!

twirlsncurls Hey girl! I'm sorry for your loss 😔 I'll share some items to help! My posh advice is that if you have the time, share share share! Active poshers will most likely share back. The posh parties are great for seeing who's currently poshing. You have great items. My posh pictures have evolved over the years. I realized that minimal backgrounds and natural light works best for me. Like find a unique hanger or knob and hang a dress against a white wall in natural light. It really helps!

Almost like Alzheimer's. It is very hard to watch. To answer your question about my Dad yes he loved to play the gospel and some country as well. He had a beautiful voice and taught himself and was teaching my son to play guitar as well! I miss him dearly😔

merwaa It must be so hard what your going through :( My grandma is pretty sick, she's been to the hospital twice, and to be honest I don't know what I would do without her... it's really hard to think of anything dying, two of my pets have died already, my dog and my bird, and I always end up feeling like I could've helped them lived their lives to the fullest, but there's only so much you can do... I know what it's like to have a good father now that I have 3 children 17-15-11 yrs.. he's dying at 45 stage 4 esophageal cancer. All he's ever wanted in life is to protect and provide for us. My kids are in denial, it's almost a yr since diagnosed. Watching him suffer is the worst thing that ever happened. I I hope you find peace knowing he is no longer suffering. I'm so afraid 💙

dotseyqueen The ornament is such a wonderful tribute of your daddy. My prayers are with you. This was the second Christmas without my dad and it was hard, but the weirdest thing happened. Just outside my front door 2 red roses are trying to bloom on a bush that had been dormant. My Moms name was rose and my dad grew red roses for her. I believe God has given me a sign by showing me those two flower buds in this cold rainy Seattle weather.

rmccouture Today is my dad's birthday. He passed right after Thanksgiving after deteriorating into a shell due to dementia. I miss him every day, but today, I miss him more. He was my "person". I'm so glad that you were able to get this with the support of the Poshmark community. It's the most amazing group of women I've ever met. I'm very familiar with Alzheimer's because my husbands dad had Dementia and passed away exactly 12 hours before my dad March 4th 2016! It was a horrific time in our lives and very troubling to watch. gollysue @spoiledpff hi I was fighting the Monday blues and just sharing randomly tonight. Ran across your post about your daddy that you lost a year ago. For that I am so sorry. I do know how you feel. I lost my daddy too, however I was only 20 and now I am 63. He died way too young at 67. It is so true that you never stop missing them, loving them cherishing them nor forgetting them.

itsajonesthang @chirpya I guess for me it has been the best thing I have done in his memory! Every time I get sad I go this and I see so many beautiful people reaching out and sharing their stories with me, someone they have never met but can relate too. My dad was, in my eyes, the best man in the world! He was my hero! POSHMARK and all of its community helped me to pay for his beautiful headstone and for that I am forever grateful! Thank you for reading my story🙏

deedee_barr You are NOT alone! Your Dad will always be with you! I'm sure that you've had many great moments together. I am VERY glad that I remember all of the good things about my Mom. She didn't want a tradition funeral. All family and friends came together and told special stories about my Mom. There was a lot of laughter at the funny stories. There were a lot of tears too. My Mom wanted it that way! It was AWESOME!!

heavensparadise @spoiledpff Aww Brandy. I am so happy to hear that he is in heaven. After all we both know heaven is paradise that's why I changed my closet name. I don't know if you remember that I took care of my sister Pat who lost her battle to liver cancer May 19th of last year. She told me and my nephew that heaven was beautiful 4 days before she went to heaven.

heavensparadise @spoiledpff She was very alert and not on any type of morphine or narcotics yet. She had such a huge smile and was reaching toward heaven. So I asked her if she saw Ed her deceased husband. She said no. I said what do you see sis? She said heaven and its so beautiful. I cried tears of joy to know that she was on her way there.

It was her way to assure me that heaven is real. I had a dream the week I changed my closet name and in my dream. Pat told me that god wanted me to change my closet name to heaven is paradise. So I sent the request to change it in.

heavensparadise @spoiledpff I now have Pat's handicap daughter Rachel and it's such a pleasure being able to love and care for her until they are one day reunited in heaven. They talked a lot about dancing in heaven before she passed. Rachel told me before I left on vacation that her mom and her danced in her dream. That was the next night after I had my dream. God is good. Sending you a virtual hug my dear. 💋💋

lesleymmc I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Father many years ago and the pain is still raw especially on Birthday, Fathers Day, Memorial Day...well most days. I feel your pain and he looks like he was a special and dear man. If you ever need someone to talk to my ears are always open. I have a remembrance photo of my dad in my closet as well. I'm adopted also so it makes it that much more special. 8 days old they took me home. Still live in the same house. They have those chair lifts now. I have been terrified by just the thought of either of my parents dying. It’s not the same of course it’s my dog. But it was one of those relationships that was as close to human as it possibly could be. I was beyond traumatized. itsajonesthang @crunyon037 it was definitely a lot to try and take in at once but as the old saying goes... God will never put more on you than you can handle! I almost questioned that one then but had to stay strong for my mom, kids, and of course my husband! I also know the feeling of an animal being like family as well! I’ve had the same little shitzu for going on 16 years and she’s like a child to me! She’s battled cancer twice and made it through and is now in the clear, PTL! Ty for the chats!

aliciainbagland Hi Brandy... Just wanted to say My Condolences re your father’s loss. It is a special bond the same happened to your fiancé just a few hours apart. My father’s bday is on April 5, (2 more hours) and read all your postings, tears down my face. Thank you for sharing. Mine passed away when I was 12yo, but he lives in my heart forever! ❤️

aliciainbagland @spoiledpff Thank you! You’re very sweet. It’s hard to believe I only had him for a short time, but I was “Daddy’s Little Girl!” and I was always w him only. We communicate through #37. He sold a ticket that won a Raffle (a brand new 5 bdrm mansion in Mexico) and he had psychic gifts. Ticket #37. Some of my prices are #37! I inherited those gifts, too! Hard to believe, but I was a witness of how he proved his gifts! 😊

aliciainbagland @spoiledpff Yes! Cars cut me off and their plates end in 37, etc. The MOST AMAZING to me was the day I got my SAG card (Union for actors), they called out #37 and NO ONE was there! They called it several times and I thought: Who would missed this appt!??? I then realized my father was saying “I’m proud of you, my Little One for becoming SAG!”😊🙏 Happy Birthday to my Daddy, today April 5!☺️

myzturee Sounds like your Dad and my Dad were “brothers from other mothers;” definitely cut from the same cloth. I empathize with you and your fiancé/husband (I assume by now you might have married). suzabelles Wow! You got so much love on this feed! I bet your dad is a cool dude and so proud of you!! I clicked to read about him because when I needed a name for my closet (so in honor of him) the first thing that popped in my mind was what my dad called me as a little girl and it always made me feel beautiful 💕 My dad passed suddenly 3 yrs ago and is also missed dearly. Hugs and prayers for continued peace.

mountainmomsoap I feel your pain ! 🙏 for you! My Dad was my best friend too , the kindest man like your dad!would give money to people that needed it without any hesitation , also anyone in the family that needed anything he was always the one to give . Never Cussed or talked bad about anyone ! He was always there for me and my children ! He passed away in 2019 and it was very hard to see him sick ! I miss him everyday! Crying as I write this😿
