Do you have closet pet peeves when looking through other poshers closets? I DO! Here are some of mine I just have to get off my chest.... 1) closets that have crazy unnecessary items that AREN'T allowed; like Crockpots (yes, I've seen it!), cell phones, etc. 2) pictures that are so dark you can't see details 3) pictures that have SO MUCH stuff in the background you can't tell the leopard shirt from the fireplace, the vase & picture frame! 4) items in front of loose, sloppy hanging white sheet.

List some of your pet peeves. If you see any in my closet, please share so I can clean up and freshen my closet! 👍🏼 We could all use a little help sometimes. 🙌🏼 Thanks poshers! Happy poshing! 😍

Buying things to sell at a gazillion dollar markup. Like $25 leggings for $150 or more. Idc how rare they are. What in the actual freak!?
Oct 12Reply

jujus_fashion
@blairbcutie oh gosh! No, thank you. Lol.
Oct 12Reply

blairbcutie
@wildroses1 so dumb. I never say anything either but last week, this girl broke me. she's selling LLR "unicorns" for 150. Some more, some a little less, but this pair 150...and in her post she said no low balling..I couldn't handle it. I was like "no low balling...? On $25 leggings that you want $150 for?" Haha She said she reported me and some other girl already got kicked off...I was like, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get kicked off for that. It wasn't that bad..but seriously!

Definitely when someone posts their picture headliner as "shoes" "shirt" "a different shirt" and, as I have already exposed my pet peeves as well, I am a stickler for grammar. Spell check should only let you write sequence once and not for every sequin piece you own. I'm not saying that their are not learning disabilities, as I have many issues myself, but half of Poshers should not be doing this. But yes I definitely make word errors myself.
Oct 15Reply

kisskissesstyle
I think it is really when someone is selling a couture sequence dress for 1k or more. Nope. Wait, one more, when people ask me about my Betsey collection and every Betsey item they have in their collection is labeled, "Betsy." Yes I also believe my PMS is getting the best of me. ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Oct 15Reply

jujus_fashion
Hahaha @kisskisses it's okay. That's why I had to make a pet peeve listing for people to get things off their chest. 😤
Oct 15Reply

lmshaker
Oh these are soooo good. Wait. Can I ask a question??? If I share an item from a posh party, do I share it back to the posh party of my followers? I'm afraid I'm doing it wrong and I'm getting silently judged. I looked if I could find answers on google but I couldn't!!!!! Help me out lol
Oct 21Reply

jujus_fashion
@lmshaker LOL. No girl you can whatever you want and share it wherever! But if your sharing from the party, I'd share it with followers to get more visibility. Sharing it back in the party is fine too but those people will see it already and you may not have followers in the party so they will see it in their feed! Either way your sharing and people appreciate that. 👍🏼 Have fun.
Oct 21Reply

lmshaker
Hahaha!!! That's sort of what I figured but I really wanted to make sure. Thank you so much for taking the time to ease my woes lolol you're the best xoxox

My Pet Peeve is Rude people!!! Like seriously..the offer button is a form of negotiating. Its not to "lowball" anyone or anything like that. I just think if I want to buy an item that I Clearly know shouldn't be priced so high..I try to negotiate. I've gotten remarks like "you are so rude" 😒😒 like no dear, I know your item is used and should not be priced at retail price😱😱 lol. I try to stick to positive closets lol 😜
Dec 13Reply

annabels_rose
Coming to my closet to complain and police my prices. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand how some sellers will inflate their prices to a CRAZY amount. I am very thoughtful with my pricing and take so many things into consideration when I price them (as sellers, we all know there are other considerations than just the price we paid for an item). We are here to make money, not lose it.
Thank you, doll! You will actually never know what a blessing it was to find this outlet tonight!😘💓🌸

@julhamil some of my pet peeves; pics upside down or sideways! Bad grammar! Misleading descriptions, especially wrong sizes, like a 22/24 is not a 22 or when it should be a 24W. I just got stuck with a hoodie that doesn't fit because it's too small & not in the condition as described!!! 😩
Dec 19Reply

seldenallie
The following misspelled/just plain wrong descriptions hurt my head when I see them...
"Sequinced"
"Bondage dress"
"Razorback tank"
"Cow neck sweater"
"High heals"
Dec 30Reply

britbabe648
@seldenallie YES!!!! For the love of God they are SEQUINS! If something has more than one sequin on it then it is a SEQUINED garment! Trying not to be judgemental but I swear, it seems most millenials and younger are simply lazy and ignorant when it comes to spelling, grammar, and writing a coherent sentence.

non compliant items 4 sure. Ive seen freaking video games 4 sale on here lmao. skincare items bug me the most even though those r probably the least offensive overall b/c I have a ton of unused korean sheetmasks that i know i could move easily here but i emailed support 2 make sure it would b kosher (because i want 2 be sure im being absolutely compliant)...and they said it wouldnt. so now im on record being told not 2 sell skincare stuff while having 2 watch others make a killing on theirs :[

Silly personal pet peeve of mine- it's not sequence, it is sequin or sequined dress. It blows my mind how many people do not know that it is NOT sequence!
Jan 19Reply

gemfox
I have so many lol, to name a few: 1. "Quarter" sleeve instead of 3/4. 2. "Laced" instead of lace; also, not all lace is "crochet". 3. People rudely demanding others to be nice. 4. "Not [brand], tagged for exposure". 5. "Aztec" misnomer. 6. Horribly blurry photo. 7. Liquified/misleading photos. 8. Photos stolen from web (just because they're on the internet doesn't mean you have permission to use them for financial gain). Thanks for letting us vent. Hopefully this is educational for some! ^_^
Jan 23Reply

When someone gives you a REALLY low offer then you counter back and they just let your offer sit there for 24 hours. Its like just decline it if youre not going to buy it bc youre getting my hopes up lmao. Also ive only been on here for a few months, but is perfume allowed? I read somewhere that it is prohibited because usps cant ship hazardous items. But, i see almost everyone is selling it! Are they just shipping it anyway and not saying what it is?
Feb 22Reply

jujus_fashion
@melonposhmark yes perfume isn't allowed through priority mail but they are probably just putting it in there and packaging it like its an allowed item. The PO can't know once it's inside so I guess people don't care and do it anyway. I'm not sure how that can be patrolled except those poshmark users respecting the rules and reporting items they see that's aren't allowed. There's too many listings for Poshmark to catch them all. Happy poshing!!! 🤗

I know this post is old but it was still hilarious to read through all these :D
Mar 10Reply

jujus_fashion
@qutecloset isn't it! 😂 Some poshers completely disregard the rules and act as if it's a garage sale. 😆 Also low ballers are often lurking on here!! 👀
Mar 10Reply

qutecloset
@julhamil I admit, if I see something listed as the wrong brand for "exposure", I'll report it. I know some brands get more views obv, but it's not fair to everyone else who correctly label their items! 😡 And I've been on here a few months now and gotten my share of lowballers. I'm all for dropping the price sometimes $10-$15 dollars, but when people ask for like a 70% discount?? Rude!
Mar 10Reply

Diapers-cloth, which might be used? Items I cannot identify because there is too much in the photo. Used bathing suits, it may be ok, but really, it is the same as used underwear. Weird, random things, like pet medication and other extraordinary things. Prices for Express clothes that are higher than Express charges! Whew! That felt good. Thanks for posting this😘😘😘😘 Also, I'm new, so let me know if you see anything awry in my closet!! @shoppala

@blairbcutie I saw this on my news feed and saw your comment. And yeesss!! I sold a pair of lulu leggings for $40 and then the same person that bought the pair is selling it in her closet for $100! And using all of my pictures that I took. Slightly irritated.
Apr 17Reply

This is great. It's nice to know I'm not alone. It drives me absolutely bananas when people don't respond to questions. I want what you are selling but don't want to 7 days just to find out you won't be shipping bc you ignore your closet! Second, is overpricing. It's become a serious problem with lululemon. Numberous people selling USED leggings for well over the retail price. Everything lulu is rare, duh... Thanks for the outlet hun :)
Apr 19Reply

swing585
1 more... buyers that don't accept the order or rate you. They just let it sit for the 3 days and as a seller you have no idea if they liked the item. Okay I'm done complaining
Apr 19Reply

jujus_fashion
@swing585 that totally drives me crazy too! They wanted the item quickly, we want the rate and funds released timely too! They would want that on their end as a seller as well!
Apr 19Reply

Really, you guys need to lighten up! Everyone on here is entited to set whatever price they want - as a seller, when I list I do my homework - check ebay, amazon & Posh for what items acrually sell for.
No one is twisting your arm ro buy - just keep scrolling & be classy, not childish.
My items are mostly NWT, NWOT or Excellent ..I'm here to make $$$ not make someone I don't know a deal.

L.O.V.E this all!!!! 😂 LADIES, if you don't mind can you PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! Since you are only allowed 500 characters per comment I might have to leave a few. Sorry 😬 I've been a Posher for awhile now but not long enough to really understand all this. I've read EVERYTHING that Posh supplies us with but....
1. I didn't know that there are stipulations as to what you can sell on here.... Like @___adelia was talking about. Are you not supposed to sell makeup on here?
May 12Reply

bohobabe6479
Cont'd...
2. I'm still so confused as to how Sharing works. I have a lot of great Poshers and items in their closets that I would like to share with the whole world! When I click Share who sees it? My followers? Sorry, I know I sound like an idiot but Poshmark is not the best at explaining things clearly 😳
3. Last one....
May 12Reply

bohobabe6479
I read @brendachibi comment about stealing pics from other Poshers and that I totally get but are we not allowed to use original pics, like having your first photo as it appears on Free People but then also ALWAYS add pics of the actual item?
Sorry guys for all the questions but thank you in advance for the help! It is much appreciated! Have a great day guys 🤗😘😊
May 12Reply

bohobabe6479
Oh..... and my ABSOLUTE WORST pet peeve is when people list the brand for exposure or even worse when you receive your crappy item that is a cheap knockoff from places like Zaful or SheIn that imitate clothing from Free People and there are NO RETURNS!!!! No, not acceptable!!!!
May 12Reply

jujus_fashion
@bohobabe6479 yes sharing other people's items will expose it to your followers. Make up I think is okay as long as it's new unopened. Yes you can use stock from photos from retailers but not okay to steal 'item photos' another posher took themselves. That make since? Hope that helps.
May 12Reply

brendachibi
@bohobabe6479 I started using original pics online when other posters would ask me to find the skirt, or top on the website so they can see how it looks on the model before they bought it. However I did find on Poshmark'S blog that you can use the original picture as long as you 1. get permission from the individual 2. Or the company. 3. Mention the owner ....,
May 12Reply

brendachibi
3. Mention the owner 4. Tag the owner or provide a link. So for ex. If you used a picture from j crew website, just mention the website or link you found it. Which reminds me, I need to do that with my pictures ☺️.
May 12Reply

Jun 09Reply

@alih16 but you never know if they're just "fibbing" and they actually used it. I wouldn't trust it. I don't buy make up on here period. Lol. 💁🏼
Jun 09Reply

laceys89
So I definitely have a few of these "peeves" in my closet, and will re-examine them, but honestly if the buyer has questions about an item they are purchasing they should ask (that's why there is a comment section) PoshMark is not my life/job. I do this to get rid of/give back to others who are in need. Not sure how I feel about this post or "Posh-bashing" others. 👎
Jun 14Reply

jujus_fashion
@laceys89 well that's fine too. The system is never perfect like any other app or software. It's not "bashing" others as no one is calling people out or tagging closets. It's just in good fun bc some closets don't follow guidelines and neither do people. Happy poshing! 🎉😁
Jun 14Reply

kmlynski
@kisskisses you made when writing this paragraph! Lol!
Jun 28Reply

kmlynski
@lynneconger this was started as a way of venting their pet peeves on other closets. We aren't giving any posh members identifying information and it's not like anyone really needs to lighten up it's just a good way to say what we are feeling but don't want to be confrontational on someone's site.
Jun 28Reply

kmlynski
My other pet peeve are Poshers that sell items they received as free gifts around the holidays. One posher was selling a tote for $80 which was obtained by buying something from the store and getting the tote for free.
Jun 28Reply

kmlynski
Another posher was selling a canvas bag for $75 again a free gift for buying from the store, it just so happened that I also got the free tote from that year and added to the other gift I had purchased from them. I did leave not so nice messages but they shouldn't lie either it's not right!
Jun 28Reply

kranberii1
1. When people buy limited edition collections from the store *think lilly at target* and mark it up 1000%
2. When people offer me 70% off of my asking price (I am flexible and fair but 70% is too much)
3. When I tell someone in the comments I don't trade and then 3 more people comment asking if I would trade with them

Here are some of mine...what is your lowest? Selling toys, hi chairs, clocks, sheet sets, knives, dishes, figurines, records, books, pool floats, beach towels. Poshmark is not stopping this/getting worse! Reported over and over and the stuff remains. They should get rid of the women other category that this clutter is getting listed under. Finally, the private bundle offer feature. People make play bundles to get lowball prices and waste your time. Dressing room feature is stupid too!😣🤐😥😭😲😨😬😖😤😢
Aug 04Reply

jujus_fashion
@vikimouse lololol I know I hate when I see people using Poshmark like its a garage sale. 🙄
Aug 04Reply

vikimouse
@julhamil I can't understand why Posh is letting this junk go through, doing nothing about it. There has to be a flagging of listing/policing of "other category" protocol. Posh is responsible if this stuff is damaged in shipping, problem with order, etc. Waiting for the day I see a cow for sale!😲😨😬😖
Aug 04Reply

lilyspring
@aggg Speaking in full sentences is not the norm on Poshmark and other selling apps. You get more responses to concise inquiries. One word questions like "Length?" is normal. The less words the better.

I have a few peeves I would just like to add......
1. Sequence - is an order in which things follow each other.
Sequins - are the shiny discs used to decorate shoes and clothes!
2. It is called a Racer Back top, bra or dress......
a Razorback is a wild hog.
3. When someone lists their 'fake' item under a brand name "for exposure"!?
Thank you for letting me vent!!!

@brendachibi Hi there! You can still report her to Posh. Just go to your sales page, find the sale w/the transaction number & buyers name. Then just message support under "just need help" or something like that & tell support the story you told here, that this user has not only used your pics but she blocked you when you tried to contact her to tell her she cannot use your personal photos! They'll handle her! Geeze some people are crazy!
Feb 02Reply

thefunkyroyals
Ooo this is so funny, unfortunately it's so true too! Everyone has made legitimate pet peeves & I think they bug the majority of good Poshers! I sell almost all BNWT items, I think I have just a few NWOT items & 1-2 EUC items. Anyhow I list my items at 25%-75% off the retail price already, I just love it when I get an LB offer for an additional 50% off! Or a $3 offer on a NWT $10 item. Ya sure, I'd love to get ZERO $ for all the time, effort, $$ I put into this NWT item
Feb 02Reply

thefunkyroyals
Oh, 2 more... I get tired of having to politely tell LB'rs that in asdirtion to
Feb 02Reply

thefunkyroyals
Crud! I did not mean to hit send yet!! What I meant to say is I hate having to continually remind LB'rs that in addition to the fact that I've already listed the NWT item at 50%-75% off Retail, that buy the time Posh takes their 20% it doesn't leave much left, especially when I also factor in gift wrapping & thank you cards. Last, is seeing used items being sold for full retail value or more than what I have my BNWT item listed for, craziness I say!
Feb 02Reply

thefunkyroyals
Ok, 1 more then I'm done ranting. I get irritated when I like an item/items from closets then get tons of messages saying "make me an offer, taking all offers, I will make you a bundle deal on all your likes & many more pushy tactics" I don't harass people ever when they like items from my closet. People like items for many different reasons. I like items I think are cute, maybe as a recommendation to someone for a HP, etc. Oh, advertising your closet in someone else's closet -HUGE no no!

Love this! I consider myself a good buyer, but exaggerated prices are rampant on Posh! I always leave a good review even when delivered crap! Q-NWT, but apparently worn! My fault...I guess! I’ve learned to ask specific questions. One particular said “It’s listed NWT, nothing changed.” Yet, when I received there are tags yet sequins missing and apparently worn! Well, did you wear it with the tags or just reattach after you wore it. Come on! We’re not stupid.
Mar 22Reply

lfoster23434
2- The “No-low balling offer” crap! How about don’t inflate your prices 1000%! If you don’t want a offer say “Price is Firm.” I get it that it should be a good deal for both buyer and seller. Some on here are really just trying to cheat the buyer. Maybe instead of sellers fussing about “ low ball offer” they should keep other sellers accountable for bad business practices that reflect on them all.
Mar 22Reply

3- Waiting on Shipping! Can you not send it a day or two after you accept the offer a hour ago! The tissue paper, not free gift, yet, you sent it in a crap envelope- Unnecessary, just send what I bought in quality shipping. 4- Your pictures with original website pictures! I want to see what I am buying not the website. Go ahead and provide dimensions and detailed info, quality, how you laundered, wear and any damage! I will be asking if not already listed.

5- The pictures in your dirty room where you dishes are by the bed,you took the pics in the storage unit and your floor is covered in junk! I have intentionally not bought things because of bad backgrounds! I buy more from people with clean/ junk free backgrounds! I second the comment about the sexy pics. This is not a sexy picture contest. Your selling the product not what you look like!

@jujus_fashion Drives me crazy! The NWOT and your charging full retail. The fact is this is a second hand site and prices should be maintained that way. If I wanted to go buy at retail price. I will go to the store...rare pieces that I can’t buy in store are different.

@jujus_fashion this has been an interesting post and illuminating (and entertaining) early morning read. I’ve read the do’s and don’ts on PM and thought I had a good handle on what to do. Apparently in the few months I’ve broken a few unwritten rules. Jsik, it’s not okay to sell something for the price you bought it for even if you never wore it?
May 16Reply

melaniebee74
@alih16 Thank you 👏🏻 I don’t understand why some sellers don’t understand that concept.
Jul 11Reply

@lfoster23434 @jujus_fashion I know this is an old thread but I just came across it. I don't know if you were aware but some retailers with websites like Free People and American Apparel ship items without tags. I have bought items online from both stores and when I received the items there were no tags. So some Poshers may legitimately be selling items from those retailers that are NWOT.

They need to give new poshers a list of things, such as accepting orders when they arrive! I hate it when they don't. Also, please answer questions. If i can't get a question answered I will not order from that person. I will see that they post updates so maybe thy don't know how to answer? Things to be explained when signing up?

@melonposhmark One thing about offers that I've recently found out: if someone declines an offer, the seller can't make another offer to them for the same item(s)! That's why many people let it time out rather than declining. ♥

Sellers th hatsay 'open yo offers!' 'Make me an offer!', you make an offer and they counter with $1-2 dollars off thier original all ready too high asking price of $40+. Ive seen an active seller trying to hustle the same item, for the same price for the last 3 years because they wont budge even $1 off the $15 listing price. (I made the offer 3 years ago. Declined, listing still gets refreshed every few days at same price)
Sep 12Reply

Sellers that do that do the back and forth offering finally conr to agreement and purchase and then ghost despite continuing to log in and sell, but wont answer your when will this ship questions, until you wait out the time limit to cancel it yourself.

Items claimed to be made by local artist that ive seen in adverts from wish. Sellers that go on a vendetta attack on your closet if you file a 'problem with purchase'. Had one seller tagging people on my closet saying i broke an item and claimed itold posh i got it that way. When in reality, she sold a fake dollar store item as genuine preious metal/stone bracelet and posh granted the return. Zero breakage, just garbage! Learned to block before i complain courtesy of her.

I have a couple pet peeves with Poshmark, but with my closet this specific nuisance...
I’ve had a few people who have purchased, waited out full 3 days until payment was forced through and then gave me bad reviews with either false or no information. (I photograph all sales to protect myself from scams but you can’t argue a untrue review) There’s a few of them now that I simply block & deny them another purchase (they actually try to buy again). 😓

Not be forthright. For instance, showing a photo of a jewelry and when you receive it, this is a minor flaw like a crystal or a piece missing. It’s fixable but I’d like to know that upfront. I do not want to have to scrutinize the photo. We deserve honesty.
Feb 04Reply

jujus_fashion
@sbi3 I believe I’ve actually done this before but was completely unintentional. Sometimes sellers do make mistakes and just miss stuff. So in that case you can open a case with poshmark and they will likely refund your money. I’m sure it was an oversight if it happened to you.

I have a question. Why do people comment “I’d like to buy this” instead of buying the item? I’ve gotten that message a few times. Most of the time I don’t know if it’s bc they actually don’t know how to buy something, have changed their mind, or it means some other unspoken rule I’m unaware of. Not really annoying to me but more confusing. Does this happen to anyone else?

@jujus_fashion .......I'd say... not having customer support via Posh. That is huge. Commissions grant having phone support when you are at a crossroads with a purchase or a sale, and time is against you. I wholeheartedly agree with you all in this whole section. Yes I do!

I love this thread. I was surprised to go through this whole list and not find my biggest pet peeve. It drives me NUTS. When sellers create a bundle for me when I’ve only liked a single item from their closet. Then they use that to continually advertise to me and badger me for a sale. It’s so pushy! I’ll immediately unlike the item, remove it from my bundle, and unfollow them. If I wanted a bundle I’d make a bundle. If I’ve liked a ton of shit from your closet, then sure, make a bundle!
Jan 27Reply

poshpnw
@keikobee I often bundle/offer to a person w/ only one like. This may be because: 1) Won't bother previous likers by sending offers for every new one. 2) Sets up opportunity to converse in private. 3) More flexibility in bundles, such as reduced price but not shipping.
I feel very uncomfortable pressuring others so I normally create bundle/send offer/move on. After that I don't offer again because I can't see offer history. Does anyone know of a way sellers can view offer history?
Jan 27Reply

poshpnw
Now (some of) my pet peeves...
-All close-up pics w/out including one zoomed out for perspective.
-Belligerent that item is 100% authentic but won't post more pics.
-Offers for 50%+ off asking price.
-Referring to strangers with terms of endearment - babe, doll, sweetie, etc. Intentions are mostly friendly and there are exceptions but so often it oozes fake.
Thank you for the opportunity to post my petty grievances - feels good to commiserate and also learn different perspectives! 🙃
Jan 27Reply

My top pet peeve is “lowest”. Doesn’t send me an offer. Doesn’t ask if the price is the lowest I go. Just “give me your lowest offer”.
Like.....no. I don’t care if you want 1 item or 20. You’re not gonna demand I give you the lowest price.
I just had someone do that on a $30 bundle valued at $80 retail price and I’m like nope. Cleared out their whole bundle.

I totally agree with you. The worst are dirty dishes/clothes in pics. I never buy from sellers with that in the pic.
The worst are “antique”. Ok is the jewelry piece is not antique (must be 100 years or longer AND “vintage”, must be at least 50 years or longer. I buy mostly jewelry and shoes. Would love to help poshers with those postings……..I have an extensive costume jewelry collection and 105 reference books.

1. Misspellings 😑😑😑
2. Bots? that jump into new listings asking you to contact them offline
3. ISO listings
4. People who give you 3 stars for slow shipping when you have literally snuck out of work to ship the same day 😡
5. The perpetuation of the myth that US shoe sizes are the same as European sizes without the 3 (8.5 is NOT the same as a 38.5 and I have the too small designer shoes that I can’t recoup my money on to prove it)
Sep 07Reply

joyfilledlife
@jujus_fashion I wish sellers would keep in mind if an item is used, has been worn, etc. Then price accordingly. I understand wanting to make a little money, but some of the items I see need to go to the thrift store, or worse, in the trash!
Also, check the price of an item online before you ask buyers to pay more than new.

@jujus_fashion giggle - love the rants. I’m coming from the perspective of someone who does a LOT more buying than selling here - I need descriptions!! As a tall girl (5’9”), my biggest pet peeve is “floor length” for dresses and skirts. Floor length for WHO? If you’re 5’5” it definitely won’t be floor length for me. If there is no inseam on the pants, I have to assume it won’t fit me.
Sep 18Reply

bati_mamselle
@jujus_fashion And yes, tagging with a designer name for “exposure” is one step away from scamming IMO. Photos that are too dark, overexposed, don’t show the entire item or cover it up with stuff for decoration is bothersome, but even more annoying is when you ask for clarification and the seller either doesn’t respond even though they have been active in the last hour or (my favorite) responds by saying “my pictures speak for themselves “ 😂
