This is a heavy coat, not light (I was getting hot taking the photos 😅) , comparable to a wool coat without it being itchy. It is also lined. I'm from NY and this is a coat I will wear in our cold winter ❄️

When I was looking at your measurements in one of the comments the large should be 15 and a half so I'm wondering if this was Miss marked somehow in size. Okay the one I have measures 14 and 1/2 inches across matter fact there's nowhere on there that it measures 15 and a half. I double checked all the labels and they all said large but I'm still thinking that it was mismarked if your getting 15 and a half on your larges or on the rest of your larges.

This is a fitted coat and the M I would be able to wear sweaters, etc under more comfortably. I honestly don't think you would be disappointed in the M. It is not an oversized fit or anything 💗❄️

My S customers have bought the M and loved the fit - it is not a loose or oversized fit. I am an XS wearing the S.
