@misskay235 Rita I just posted the bath bomb bundle. I'll be shipping it and sending it out either tomorrow or Monday. It's A WINTER WONDERLAND in Chicago right now. With a mere twelve-twenty inches expected. Before the temps drop and the wind kicks in.
misskay235
@angelk1234 at oh. I thought they were 4.00.each. Yikes.
angelk1234
@misskay235 No, when you initially asked me I expressed they were $8.00. I have specialty soaps that start at $4.00. I'm throwing in two extra bath bombs because it's been over a week since we chatted. Again, I apologize about my tardiness:(.
angelk1234
@misskay235 I know we discussed each other's parents. With the aide being out I'm on call 24-7. Because my father is sight and hearing impaired he requires constant hands on care for every aspect of his daily living essentials. I know you understand taking care of your mom:). You are blessed you have your hubby and that he is supportive:).
misskay235
@angelk1234 we sure did. I will purchase these in a couple of days when my money comes thru on here. I'm using four of them
For Christmas gifts.
misskay235
@angelk1234 yes. Now I remember. I'm sorry dear. I'm a ding bat. Lol. I will purchase them.
angelk1234
@misskay235 Thank you SO much, Rita. Like I said I'm including (2) additional for your use or to give as gifts. Plus a sample of soap:). Is everything OK with you? Mom? Daughter? Granddaughter? Hubble?
angelk1234
@misskay235 Sounds good. I'll include a couple of flyers my youngest created until my daughter can get the website up and running then create her business cards, stationary, etc. Are you back at the farm? I know when we chatted last week, you were taking your mom to the podiatrist. Everything turn out OK?
misskay235
@angelk1234 Your so sweet. Yes. The podiatrist trimmed her nails.
misskay235
@angelk1234 I will help your business as much as I can. 😘
angelk1234
@misskay235 The reason I remembered was because I gave my dad a pedicure and thought about your mom. Thanks SO much for your encouragement. I truly appreciate any and all your assistance. I just looked outside and can't believe how much snow we're getting. YIKES!
misskay235
@angelk1234 bless your heart. The winter time is so depressing. She had some black spots around her nails. The one side he thinks because it was curved. The other side he said he wasn't sure it's near the base of the nail. Gonna watch it. If it grows gonna biopsy it. Could be cancer. I don't feel like it is tho.
angelk1234
@misskay235 Well, it could be just a fungus. Does your mom take multiple medications? I developed fungus in my right big toenail from what I thought was an unclean nail salon. Nope. It turned out to be a stagnant liver from all the Meds I was taking. Since I stopped taking them, my toenail has grown back. But it was messed up for awhile;(.
misskay235
@angelk1234 OMG. I have the same problem on my right big toe. I have crohns. I have taken biologics before, bit not now. I'm not on a whole lot of meds, but I wonder if that's my problem. Can you tell me what med caused it? You may have answered a prayer.
misskay235
@angelk1234 moms isn't a fungus. Hers is pooled up blood I think.
misskay235
@angelk1234 I stopped taking lamisil everyday because it can shut down your liver. I got scared.
angelk1234
@misskay235 Rita, my doctor said it was a combination of the Cymbalta, Nuerontin, Baclofen, Klonopin, Tramadol, Venlafaxine. All these Meds were for either my chronic back pain or the anxiety associated with such. I couldn't sleep. Thus, causing me to put on weight and just looking and feeling AWEFUL.
misskay235
@angelk1234 mom takes most of those. I only take klonopin.
misskay235
@angelk1234 I have the ugliest nail you've ever seen. Lol.
angelk1234
@misskay235 You might want to check on how the medication is metabolized. Most medications are either metabolized through the liver or kidneys. As you have probably heard or read. When a person drinks or takes TOO much ibuprofen it's taxing on the liver. Same with a multitude of prescription medications. Look into it via the internet.
angelk1234
@misskay235 Oh, it's probably not as ugly as you think. As women we're just overly sensitive when our bodies, hair, makeup doesn't look like what we THINK we should look like. But, for the most part foot issues are not something to ignore.
angelk1234
@misskay235 It wasn't until I started taking care of my parents that I had all these issues. When my mother was alive it was much more difficult. I only have either one aide for eight hours or two every four. Last I checked theirs still sixteen hours left in the day:).
angelk1234
@misskay235 So, I was wracking my brain out trying to get all these services for my parents and it caused more stress on me. I had to interview, train and oversee them on a daily bases. Now that my mom passed the city has cut services to our home until my dad can be reassessed. He requires 24-hour care per his PCP. I have alarms for his chair and bed in the event he tries to get up unattended;(.
angelk1234
@misskay235 It took SO long to establish having an aide. I found one that has been with our family for almost a year. Now, this happens we're the city/state have to come back out. It's just come at a REALLY bad time for her and me.
misskay235
@angelk1234 oh dear. I feel so sorry for you. Mom walks with a walker. I worry every second I'm away because she is a fall risk. Already broke her left hip. Had a stroke in September. Just hard as you know. I've had Crohns since 19, Almost died before they figured it out. Most of my friends are online. My other friends still like to get out and go. I clearly can't do that. Barry mainly just brings us meds and groceries. My brother , worthless.
angelk1234
@misskay235 Well, I guess with the varying forms of our parents illnesses/issues it adds up to when I first became a mom. Having my son at 20 yrs or caring for my parents at 54 yrs. which is harder? Having my parents. I'm no longer the daughter, I had to become the parent. And with my dad, he's much more work because he can't see nor hear. I feel SO bad for him. My dad was using a walker up until about a year ago. He's fallen four times since last December;(.
angelk1234
@misskay235 I have the same issues with family members. I tell everyone that my parents "groomed" me for this position from birth. There are six of us since my brother passed a week apart from my mom in August. Not ONCE have any of them come over since Labor Day weekend.
misskay235
@angelk1234 I hear ya. Same boat. I'm 51. It's difficult having so much responsibility Mom doesn't appreciate it. And the hardest part is mom doesn't want to stay at my house any. She wants to stay at her house. That creates hardship for me and my husband. Doesn't seem to bother her.
angelk1234
@misskay235 it's just SO sad when you know you have family that is OK to work, raise their children, GO out for socializing, etc., but when it comes down to helping out with our parents. Everyone disappears. It's just SO sad, not only for me, but for my dad. We're he REALLY needs the support, nobody but me. He thanks me every morning and night. Saying, "I don't know what I would do without you Anna." It just makes me SO sad:(.
misskay235
@angelk1234 Family is the Pitts when they turn their backs on their siblings and parents. My dad went to his grave wondering what he had done to cause my brother not to come around. Shame on him. I'm glad your dad appreciates you. He knows he is loved. That's what life is all about. Sad that they have just left it all on you. God will reward you dear.
