@kevachauntay what was the clarity in the specifications when you purchased them?
Jan 19Reply

kevachauntay
@tv1812 Unfortunately, I don't know this information. I haven't had them appraised.

I honestly highly recommend going to a jeweler and asking that question. Color and clarity make a huge impact on price. So would if they turn out to be filled diamonds. You may be selling them at a very low price or over charging for earrings that if the next person has them appraised could end up terribly upset.

@kevachauntay thanks! Could you post a picture of the receipt?

Jared sells certified earrings that come with a cert stating color, cut, clarity and carat. Uncertfied earrings do not.( Just the sales receipt and usually a document explaining the warranty). Certified diamonds cost more because you are guaranteed a specific color and clarity. The uncertified diamonds are sold with a 'minimum clarity' (usually I2) and minimum color of usually I.

The earrings listed here currently sell for $7,000 and the certified ones sell for $9,700. If you get uncertified diamonds the only way to know exactly what you have is to get an appraisal. But, if you love the way the look and sparkle and look in your ears, an appraisal doesn't matter. Hope this helps!

I agree that it would be much easier for you to sell if someone knew the clarity & color. I love them, but would need to know.

Hi. Have you had these appraised yet as to cut, color and clarity?
Jul 09Reply

@abudgetbabe Hi. Do or did you work at Jared that you know about certified and uncertified diamonds? Are you sure about Jared’s uncertified minimum clarity l2 and color I? But they could also be better quality. How about the uncertified minimum cut? Thanks for the info.
Jul 09Reply

abudgetbabe
@mysusieque Hi. 😊 This info is on the Jared website. I bought my first set of diamond studs there a while back. I have also worked in the jewelry industry, specifically dealing with diamonds. I have learned so much about how diamonds are rated, and who is actually rating them....making some ratings better than others. If you have any other questions, just ask. 😊

@mysusieque Hi again. Also, Certified diamonds can generate a higher price because someone has a praise them versus an uncertified set. These are generally sold by the minimum color and quality. Most people don’t care as long as they look good to the naked eye especially when they’re up in your ears and not on your finger. It’s just important to consider who has certified these diamonds And what is important to you as a buyer. Hope this helps. 😊
