How are you going about doing this?
May 12Reply

raelynn20
@missid74 Hi, I record my clothing to include packaging to have proof of the condition of my Items. If for some reason a customer opens a case against you. Then, you will have proof to give to Poshmark to prove your side of the case. Please let me know if you have further questions. Thanks and take care.

How sad is this? I think I just ran in to a dishonest buyer. She's claiming my item is not as described- I can't imagine how? Its still in review. Is the best option to have buyer send it back? What do you recommend?
Jun 09Reply

raelynn20
@drhstephens Hi, I would recommend you contact Poshmark Support, and let Poshmark tell you what you should do next in this situation. If you have any pictures or video of your item, then make sure you provide it Poshmark. It can really strengthen your side of the case and prove your item is exactly as described. Please let me know if you have further questions. I hope everything works out to your favor in this case. Have a wonderful day.

I'm new to Posh, and I just had one person open a case and another tell me in a comment that their package never arrived (although the tracking number says the package was delivered). What are some ways people try to scam others on Posh? What's the best way to protect myself? Is there a maybe a blog that would be good to read with good info on how to protect yourself as a seller?
Jul 05Reply

raelynn20
@rpfletch Hi, I don't know of blog you can go to find further information. It's through my experience I realized recording your sales transactions can help prove your side of the case. Also, check out @salleylin closet and she too have a post like this. Fellow Poshers left comments in her post describing what happened to them. I'm new here and I've been getting so many spam comments from fake buyers. I'm also worried about selling here because I do have higher priced items. I heard some bad stories from Poshmark but since I buy from here a bit I haven't had a problem- I'm more worried about selling and someone scamming me. Please let me know if the video helps when someone claims it's damaged or wrong.
Jul 24Reply

@jacelinescloset Hi, I understand your concern about being scammed here. If a customer decides to open a case against you, then Poshmark will ask you to submit evidence to prove your side of the case. I'm a buyer and seller on Posh. One of the rules that I go by when purchasing items on Posh is to only buy things that I know will fit me. Unfortunately you are not able to return just becuase an item doesnt fit (even though i read a comment above that a buyer did that! im sorry!) I try to stick with brands that i know my exact size in. I avoid jeans because they are an item that needs a specific fit.
Nov 10Reply

I only buy items that have stretch, or wiggle room or that will still look flattering even if its a little big or a little small.

Wow! That seems like a ton of extra work. But, I can see where you do what you gotta do. I've been selling on Ebay 15 yrs and never once had problems. I switched to PM after many requests from friends. So far, I have not seen the success with PM like I did with Ebay. After reading your experiences and others with these issues with scams it makes me want to go back to Ebay. I give myself another 6 months w PM before I make a decision final. Good luck selling. Peace & Blessings

@raelynn20 i love this graphic so much! I'm definitely making one. I had someone say they got an oil spill stain on the front of a brand new dress i just sold them. I didn't see any stain and if i did i would of disclosed that in my listing. Just feeling like crap because I know what I saw. I swear on my life i would never ever sell anything in that condition. What's funny is she gave a 5 star rating after receiving it and then just gave me a 2 star rating a couple days later.

Thanks so much for this posting and for the great idea! It just happened to me. A young lady is trying to send me back an item I know I did not sell her. In other words, she’s trying to switch items with me. So sad! I sent in pics and proof, etc...but we shall see what happens. Still in review. But I have to say. All in all, in 230 sales, it’s the first time it happens so, the odds are pretty good.

@raelynn20 I video all transactions from start to finish. I’ve been scammed before, not on Poshmark. I’ve learned to protect myself as much as possible. It’s disheartening when someone takes advantage of others. I pray for guidance every day, and it helps. It centers and calms me, which is what I need in any situation.
Sometimes I state in my description: “I have a photo of every single inch of this dress if you need more info.” As a deterrent. And I really DO have the photos!

@gmabarb Hi hon ; just touching base back and to try to help. I would go ahead and do it from your site so not to confuse Posh what we were referring too. @raelynn20 Ladies; I have been recording from beginning to end for my records as to the condition, authenticity etc etc. Use your iPhone if you have to and. Also include showing the item going into the priority box and sealed. I feel this covers me when I seen one seller their customer stated they received an empty box, another case continuesd
May 22Reply

@raelynn20 Cont.... The other case being the individual must have replaced the authentic with a fake then told posh they were mailed the fake. These are a few examples. This literally just saved me. I became paranoid and started taking pictures of everything I pack in the process of packing. Someone just tried to tell me that the necklace I sold to them was not in the box, yet somehow the dust bag was. I asked if the box was tampered with and they said it was completely unsealed on one side. Again, impossible. This is the small dvd box from USPS that only opens on one side.
Sep 09Reply

jamieahood
I use packing tape to adhere the label to the one side that opens. In order to open the box at all, the label would have been ripped in half. Plus if the box was completely open on one side, how is the dust bag still in there but the necklace is not??? Wouldn’t they both fall out together? And USPS made no note of a destroyed empty box??
Sep 09Reply

jamieahood
Makes no sense, right? Besides this, I’ve been selling for over a year and using those boxes in the exact same way and have never once had a similar complaint. Long story short, I informed them that I had photos as proof that it was in the box when I sealed it and I haven’t heard back from them. Sorry for the rant, but feels good to vent 😤

Hi! I just sold an expensive Cashmere and leather sweater for a very low price even tho the sweater has never been worn. The buyer says she really appreciates it but that it smells musty and of strong perfume and wants me to pay to have it dry cleaned. I cannot believe this as I inspect all of my items thoroughly before shipping and I take very good care of my items. I’m not sure if she is going to open a case but what do you feel I should do please?

Very smart. I need to start doing this! Just found your post via google! Just recently encountered a customer who is claiming to not receive 5 items from an 8 item bundle. She “didn’t realize until a week after receiving”. Such BS and really upsetting as you can imagine! I think we do well on poshmark because we genuinely enjoy good customer service and having happy returning clients, so this situation is hard for me! Do not like when customers open case and lie to get a refund. It’s nuts. Ughh.

@raelynn20 hi thanks for sharing this ! I really wish I had seen this before I sold my bracelet ! Everything was sent in great condition and the buyer had as well just received today and said item was not as described ! And how is that even if my item was over 500$ and was sent to poshmark headquarters to be authenticated and yet the buyer still does that .. all I have is pictures before I sent not a video would that help ?
Mar 11Reply

vanessaraee
@nannyharper is this true ? Even if the item we sell is authentic and even authenticated with poshmark headquarters themselves wouldn’t they have proof as well that the jewelry is real?
Mar 11Reply

raelynn20
@vanessaraee Hi, I am sorry for the delayed response. I am sorry to hear what happened. Poshmark, should definitely have the information for your item since the item had to be authenticated. Please make sure you submit your pictures too help prove your side of the case.
Mar 14Reply

raelynn20
@vanessaraee Hopefully, Poshmark will refer back to the information they gathered during the authentication process, and utilize your evidence too in order to reach a decision. I hope everything works out in your favor. Have a wonderful day and take care

So glad I came across this post! I started selling last month and have had pretty good luck, but as of this morning I woke up to multiple emails of someone reporting my items as replica's when I am listing the correct item, with tags, and only comparing it to another brand by using the words "comparable". I don't believe this is wrong or not allowed - I'd like to know what others think about this?
Apr 11Reply

dbutke92
Also had a few lower ratings given to me claiming the size I listed and what it says on the item is wrong, which is false and I do actually have pictures for proof, wondering if these are the first signs of a scam? Not sure if a case has been opened yet, but if I was to share this information with postmark would they remove the negative rating as it is not true? I definitely will be recording all my items now too.

@arbitrarilychic Me too! I learned my lesson and believe me it saves you a lot of headache in the end! As soon as they open up a case I start adding my images then Case is closed! I know they’re wondering how but as soon as they have buyers remorse they’re like it’s scratched or it’s fake! I just start uploading. Lol!
May 11Reply

tahjirdesigns
@raelynn20 I record EVERYTHING after I got burned by two people that had buyers remorse so I lost. Now, anything I sell is photographed down to the packaging before it’s taken to the post office. Never give your items to a postman you run into unless they scan it in front of you. If not it might delay your order or get lost.
May 11Reply

tahjirdesigns
@preppiebohemian I’ve had 237 sales and had about 5 cases opened. The first two I didn’t record it and lost the other 3 they lost. We’re not Nordstrom and it’s crazy that some people will try to rip us off. Point being, record or photograph EVERYTHING that you ship in details. Once they approve it and funds have been deposited I then delete the items from my phone.

Hi there, I’ve never had a return in 6 years until now. New pair of shoes & buyer stated there was a dirty pair of underwear in shoe. PM allowed return -they actually returned the underwear. Not mine. Even though the details were correct. Now I have a buyer who is stating a purse is too short for her arms. my ad is so clear. what do you use to record? How do you time stamp? If you give measurements does using the word approximately ( if I may be off 1/8”)cover the sellers?
May 23Reply

raelynn20
@trendyfashions Hi, I am sorry to hear this happened. I record using a video camera and I take photos too. If measurements are requested, then I give the exact measurement of the item. I hope this information helps you too. Please let me know if you have further questions too. Have a great day

Hi there, does this work against cases? I had two returns since 2013 the last week. My descriptions were right on and pics clear. Purse to short for arms and said underwear was in a shoe ( not)!! I thought returns not allowed for size. I was just wondering, I need to do something. Was so frustrated-Thanks kindly.

This is great advice!! I had one lady try to return a dress claiming there was a “tear” and the buttons “fell off” 🙄, PM approved her return and guess what.... she never sent back the dress!!! I still got my money because thankfully PM knew that the return label had never been scanned by USPS. Can I repost this and give you credit?

Hi! I think I might be getting scammed and I’m not sure what to do. I already emailed poshmark. A user purchased an item from my closet but when I tried to reach out to the buyer to thank them, the account appeared to have just been made, and there are no reviews or listings or activity. There was also one point where the account was deleted, then it was activated again. This feels like I won’t get paid if I ship the item to this user.
Jul 01Reply

raelynn20
@kyralee0910 Hi, I am so sorry you are having to deal with this issue. If I were you I would follow your instincts on this one. Especially, it’s strange the account was deleted and recreated again. I personally would cancel the sale, and I’ll hope another buyer comes along. I am curious as what Poshmark tells in you to do in this situation. I wish I could be of more to you. I hope everything works in your favor too. Thank you for reaching out. Take care

@raelynn20 thank you for the kind words! I really appreciate it. I will let you know what poshmark says. So far no response.... would you say it’s a red flag if a buyer has no listings or reviews and doesn’t respond to comments. I just had another user purchase an expensive item but her account has no activity and she hasnt responded to my comments.

@kyralee0910 Hi, I just wish I could do more to help you. I have sold items to Poshers with no listings or don’t respond to back to my comments. The sales transactions have went smoothly for me majority of the time. I make for sure I record/photograph any items to ensure I capture the items condition before it leaves my hand. Hi there, I am now going to start doing this! I just ran into your closet and saw this and I just wanted to know after two dishonest buyers!! I’m shocked they won because everything was in the details! Will Poshmark allow video recording to be submitted? I noticed you can just submit photos. Thanks and do you video the actual item in the box?

Hi! I'm a pretty new seller on Poshmark myself and this is really helpful (and scary!). What happens if you have to send to Poshmark for Authentication first? If Poshmark accepts it, authenticates it, and then sends it along to the buyer- and they either don't receive it or say it isn't what was described- what can a seller do? I was thinking a seller was protected through Posh Authentication but maybe I'm wrong?

I am all about customer service so I accepted the return not knowing I would be hit with a caution in my stats (which has since gone away. Does that mean anything?). Once I got the item back, it was obviously worn and damaged. Now I videotape my sales. Should I advertise that? I see you do but not all do. I don’t want to offend. Not only is this buyer saying I added product to the bottle that wasn’t original, but she is saying that the amount left in the bottle wasn’t as promised. Poshmark should place any buyers that open cases under review to prevent all these scams from occurring- I recently had a buyer who claimed an item she purchased was “not clean” and even made remarks against me personally, which should never be tolerated (the item only had the tags removed, was never worn)- So many lying buyers just trying to rip us off, it’s very disheartening 😔

Sadly, I feel like I've had 2 fraudulent cases opened as well. I just became a Posh Ambassador. I primarily sell jewelry and have alot of it! I think your antennae needs to go up, if someone is trying to really "chew" you down on your pricing, or they come back and say "I took this out of my bundle, now how much?' kind of thing. Lately, I always look at a persons "about" page to see what others are saying about that potential buyer and how she is reacting. That will give you alot clues!
Oct 25Reply

When we are not making much on these sales to begin with.... due to fees, our time taking photos, listing, packaging materials etc. It is such a shame that we need to feel like we have to video/picture every transaction! I think that Poshmark really needs to take a look at buyers who have a "habit" of opening cases and get them out of the community! I've really only had this happen to me 2 times, but when I did, I contacted Poshmark support (outside of the case comments)
Oct 25Reply

and I shared my concerns about this Buyer. I made sure that support knew who I am, the case and who the Buyer is. I don't know if this will help, but it's worth a try! Oddly this buyer started on Poshmark the same week she bought my louboutin shoes... then immediately claimed they were fakes! I have pictures of the entire packing and shipping. What about us buyers who buy an item as it is not as listed it is shrunk etc or poor condition, I appreciate what sellers go through but there are honest buyers out here as well. I recently purchased the same blouse, different colors same size, brand from two different sellers, one fit as it should the other was horribly shrunk, too small but had the same exact size tag. The policy states if it doesn't fit sorry you still have to buy it. So you see the problems some buyers face?

I submit photos and leave a comment in the case notes to inform them I will be submitting photos through email. I didn’t know if you already new this but I wanted to make sure. Take care and Happy New Year.

I’m so glad there are other people out there that have and or are going through what I’m going through so I am not alone. I recently have gotten scammed and now I’m left with the consequences. Poshmark doesn’t have security for SELLER PROTECTION as for buyers. THEY DONT COVER IF THE ITEM RETURNED SMELLS OR WAS DAMAGED SENT IT BACK. It’s unfair to the seller. There definitely are some serious scammers out there. Be aware of the issues they claim something small or tiny tears. So look out.
Jan 02Reply

raelynn20
@superhappyshop Hi, there sorry to hear what happened. I will share my experience with you. Poshmark, will examine evidence from both parties and determine if the case is valid. In my case Poshmark ending up paying the both of us because they couldn’t come to a determination. Poshmark, also let the customer keep the item too.
Jan 03Reply

raelynn20
@paigejordann Hi, there thank you for sharing your story too. It wasn’t long after I started selling the scammers began to do what they do which is scam. I continue to be amazed how many people are being scammed. Hopefully, things will change and sellers will be protected better.
Jan 03Reply

superhappyshop
@raelynn20 Thank you for the advice. It seems like a little thing, however the customer should not have to fix themselves. It would be nice if there was a way to offer a little refund to cover super glue or the hassle. The customer wants the item if it has all stones.
Jan 03Reply

raelynn20
@superhappyshop Hi, I definitely like your idea it certainly would solve a lot of problems. This would be a great idea for you to pitch to Poshmark to get implemented.

@raelynn20 Ive had someone give me a bad review because they didn’t like my packaging lmao like gimme a break. Also had someone say a NWT in original package item was ripped and looked like it came from a dirty thrift store but refused to open a case. Long story short, if they wont open a case, they’re lying, or clearly dont care enough to be leaving the complaint!

I ordered two luxury wallets from a buyer on Poshmark. Both wallets had their own listings and I bought both, came in the mail. I took both wallets to the Gucci store and the workers were not able to authenticate them which means they were fake. I went onto the sellers page and I can no longer see any of her listings, even though it says she has 6 listings. Both of the listings I had purchased never said the wallets were fake, rather “Brand New Gucci Wallet”. Is it time to open a case?

I would definitely submit all your proof you have to prove the item was fake. Again, I am sorry missed your comment earlier.

Thanks for this post! I've been selling just under 2 months and it's helpful to be prepared. I just had an issue as a buyer actually, where the item I bought was just in terrible condition after being described as "like new." it was pilled and had snags and honestly looked like maybe she washed it in a wood chipper😩. (cont'd below)
Jan 24Reply

inspirejoy
In 40 purchases from Posh I've never had any issues and I actually felt horrible even opening a case, but I spent a decent $ on it. Once opened tho, the seller started saying it was my fault and that I should have asked to see more pics and clearer pics (like I did something wrong by trusting the pics and description she provided)! In the end, Posh refunded me, but it's frustrating that there are buyer's AND sellers that do things like this.
Jan 24Reply

xfourchette
@raelynn20 what do you do when a buyer falsely claims something is fake but you have receipts tracking info etc from your original purchase that proves it's real? does posh give you a chance to show them and prove your case? I've seen a lot of stories of people trying to get free stuff by falsely claiming it's fake and it's so messed up. 😔

What about when you're scammed by the seller? I just got an empty box!! As soon as I picked up the box i was worried because i didn't hear or feel anything in it, so I recorded myself opening it and messaged the seller (I wanted to give her a chance to fix it if it was an honest mistake) and Poshmark, but haven't heard back and the seller went from having a gazillion listings to having none visible to me...I can still follow her though, so I'm not sure what's going on...but it was $100!!!
Jan 30Reply

@b_dowling the same thing just happened to me too! I was scammed by a seller- phantombae , for a $25 purchase plus shipping. She had over 540 listings and they’re all gone now, including the listing that I had purchased.
When I go to click on my purchase under purchased, it says that the listing cannot be found, but is pending shipment. Really frustrating! I would have rather used my posh credits on something else. I just contacted Poshmark support so we will see what happens!
Feb 02Reply

b_dowling
@chelseamae17 yeah, Poshmark
Support or maybe the seller ended up cancelling the purchase for me, but I’ve been scammed by a few
Sellers at this point either with empty boxes or stained merchandise that was supposed to be NWT or just never shipping an item, and while it generally doesn’t end up costing me anything, it still takes time and energy to deal with the issues! I think I’m going to delete my account...the deals are good, but I’m just not sure it’s worth it!

I saw your page about taking a video of the item while you are shipping it etc. Its a really good idea. the shirt was worn probably once by my daughter. I do not sell anything that has stains on them. It aggravates me that she waited exactly a month from the date buying it to rate it. I will be making videos

Mar 26Reply

@mkmemphis901 However, the Posher (seller) kept contacting Poshmark several times afterwards because the customer damaged it and not her. This is so smart, and sad that its necessary. I've never had a case against me until last week when I had TWO. I'm sure one item was damaged while she opened the package (it was new and suddenly had a very clean-cut hole in the case pictures...almost like some scissors had "accidentally" punctured it...). I'm sure Poshmark is aware that people use filing cases to scam people or get around the rules, I just wish they'd do something instead of defaulting to the buyer's side.

@raelynn20 thank you for this informative post!! I’m currently experiencing a extremely disgusting experience with a dishonest and fishy customer. They sent me an offer on one of my items and I accepted it. THEN a day after purchase and after me shipping them the item, they start sending me messages asking me to accept return of item and cancel shipment because they’ve accidentally purchased the item. I let them know of Poshmark policy and they still continue harassing me.

This morning, I went to go check out the sale in more detail and the profile no longer exists. Any ideas? I'm not sure if I feel comfortable shipping this item.
May 09Reply

@ellekaysell Hi, there I have never experienced this issue. However, I have seen other Posher’s mention something like this before. One Posher mentioned products can be purchased on here without an account and they can checkout as a guest. Also, I’m thinking someone placed an order and then deleted their account for some reason. This situation would definitely make me think twice too about fulfilling this order because you have no way of contacting them.

@shesells88 Hi, there I’m sorry to hear this. I take pictures in good lighting of my items to ensure I can prove the condition. This process has worked for me so far. I believe it was because the Posh’s buyer protection didn’t cover smells.

Hi fellow sellers. Poshmark does not protect sellers. I found this out when a buyer request a return on item I sold. Her reasoning was it was too thin for her liking (14k necklace). Poshmark approve the return saying that due to incorrect material. which is a total lie. Buyer got a 14k necklace and I did not misrepresent my item. There is no help from Posh whatsoever. The thing is the description just says “great condition” and in the pictures the sweater is fluffed up (I’m almost 100% certain on purpose) to perfectly hide the stretch marks in the pics.. you honestly can’t see them in the pics.. I sent photos directly from the posting to them to ensure they saw them all, and I just stayed on them until I heard back. I think i got lucky because I had a lot of photos and the buyer ended up being unresponsive when asked for “proof”. But definetly email poshmark directly! I hope it works out for you 😊
Jul 25Reply

kminyard
@kaianielsen awesome thanks, I will do that! The claim is just so ridiculous and she’s pretty responsive at this point, but I just don’t know what else to say to prove that, the authenticity shouldn’t even be a question she just wants a return or she’s pulling some kind of scam who knows. Thanks for your response though!
Jul 25Reply

kaianielsen
@kminyard my biggest fear would be her returning it but you not receiving the item you sent her back. I’ve heard of ppl scamming this way. So if she does send it back I would be sure to record yourself opening it or something so if it’s the wrong item you have proof (:
Jul 25Reply

kminyard
@kaianielsen yes! I film myself packaging all my expensive items when I ship them, I’ll have to do that with a return. They know exactly what to say to get a return granted, but usually I choose to sell on posh just because there is more seller protection compared to other sites. But now that it’s happened I keep reading horror stories so fingers crossed! This buyer also has 3 returns opened by her discussed on her meet the posher listing so hopefully they factor that in.

@shoelovercloset Hi, there thank you for reaching out. When, I don’t feel comfortable with a transaction, then I will cancel it especially if I reach out to the buyer and they don’t respond. I wish give you a better answer to this situation. However, for myself it’s best to cancel the transaction and keep moving.

I’m so upset. I shipped a pair of Jordans to a buyer. His opened a case against me lying saying I didn’t ship them. He opened the box, stole my shoes, and placed bedsheets in the box. I have no way of proving I shipped them other than the tracking receipt proving the weight of the box vs. how much sheets would have weighed. My track record is good. I would never do this to a person. I hope I win the case and receive my payment.

I Had a buyer open a case saying She received the wrong items. The items she suggested we're wrong we're actually gifts for her in addition to what she purchased. She claims the items were not in the Box. I have a system where I every time I put something in a Box, I check it off in a notebook so I know I did not forget anything.
Aug 24Reply

bohochictrends
If I video tape the packing of the Box I would have to continue videotaping as I took it in the car, drove to the Post Office, and took it inside. Otherwise if I break it up into 2 videos they could claim it's a different Box. Is making one long video my only option to protect myself? Thank you for your help.

@raelynn20 hey there, I’m sorry to bother you but I googled my question your profile popped up. If you don’t have time to answer it’s totally cool. What do you think about selling to someone that has no listings and doesn’t even have a about me profile. I had an issue with a Louis Vuitton bag but posh totally resolved it. I just feel weird about selling to someone with nothing on there profile, I also feel kind of like a jerk for thinking that way. I hope your staying safe out there. ❤️

PM will not have your back. I'll post the info on 'poshmark for grownups'. A buyer signed up & seconds later bought a $394 NWT bag, without asking ?'s, offers or bundles. Paid for it, got it & opened a case. Had a bad feeling but shipped. She provided pics of an old, used bag which of course did not match my new bag. I have a 350+ 5-star sale history, buyer is unknown but PM sided with her anyway, ignoring my impeccable history, saying that her images showed 'wear', not as described. No kidding!
Sep 05Reply

sellagram
Did PM really think that this scam buyer will provide images of the new bag??? duh. Anyway, the buyer's agenda all along was to switch the Valentino backpack bag, knowing how sites like PM works. At this point, I am slowly deactivating most of my listings until there is a better resolution. PM is great when sales are smooth. PM may side with the seller for inexpensive items, but not high-end dollar amounts. And, their responses are robotic, generic and a joke. Hiding behind a screen.

@raelynn20 I’ve sold items on PoshMark with no issues until today. A buyer purchased perfectly new sneakers and broke the metal tip off of one saying I sent it to her broken. Although it was new, never worn and maintained in the box. Posh mark sided with the buyer but now I know to record the entire boxing process going forward. Unfortunately this experience left a sour taste in my mouth so I’m going to take a bit of a break but going forward when I return, I’m going to use this method.

@sellagram Just had the same experience today. A buyer bought mine without negotiating and opened a case. She claimed it was the wrong size. The photo she uploaded is not the skirt I sent to her. I even took a photo of the tag of the skirt I sent to her right before I packed to prove that I sent her the right size. I uploaded my photo to the case but Poshmark still decided to side with this dishonest buyer. She wants my size but does not want to pay and Poshmark is OK with that. Sad.

Hello :) I just started like a month ago. All extremely helpful information. My first mistake is I accidentally entered the incorrect price for an item since I have a similar item on another listing. Really sucks I am going to lose money. I didn’t want to cancel because the customer isn’t at fault and didn’t want to risk a bad review or something:(
Oct 05Reply

cactusposh16
@cyndiquil07 You can cancel and it won’t affect your reviews.

Oct 06Reply

cactusposh16
@cyndiquil07 Yes girl! Sometimes you gotta cancel and is okay to do that. Better safe than sorry and your products are good items too! Please take tons of pictures because petty buyers will lie about the most meaningless things and poshmark will side. Not worth it! so back yourself with evidence
Oct 06Reply

cyndiquil07
@ddivina93 omg I hope this isn’t the case. I sent it anyways to her. I wrote my name and date and poshmark name id on a sticky note while I recorded the items. And when I taped the box. A letter as well. Also when I put shipping label on box. It already started tracking. So I cross my fingers that nothing goes wrong.
Oct 06Reply

cactusposh16
@cyndiquil07 Good luck! And a big advice take lots of pictures of your item in your post bec if you do only one picture, ps can really side with you if the buyer complains and lies about somehow not showing in your picture.

@jgrace198234
I have had the same concern too. Unless they give me a realistic bid I just decline them. One thing to keep in mind is items over $500 are authenticated by Poshmark and this is your little insurance policy. I just had someone open a case against me for a bracelet they claimed was not as described. It was over $500 so Poshmark authenticated and I used a tape measure to show length and width and gave an accurate description. Poshmark ruled in my favor and I got my money.

Oct 22Reply

@csweet100 Poshmark should question these ppl giving unrealistic review... they should scrutinized these ppl because it’s ruining the sellers name... they shouldn’t be allowed to say whatever unfair and dishonest!!! That’s a little bit stupid rating... they should just take that crap off... nobody force them to buy anything from someone else’s closet... they should also ask questions before buying... because I’m sure nobody wants to sell them anything if they were being difficult and a scam!!!

Agreed! I wish I had taken a photo of an item I also had a posher open a case on, stated the item was too tight, even though I gave its measurement in the listing (and poshmark does not allow returns for size). It seems like PM asked her to measure the item, but she posted one that cuts off a corner of the item so you can't actually see if the end lines up with the ruler and added a bend to make it look smaller... and suddenly decided to add more stuff, which was all mentioned in the listing.
Oct 28Reply

lindsay7cagala
@mywishr I always wondered why people recorded and now I totally understand and I’m going to start doing it myself. @shelbrittain I just sent out the order last week but it’s going across the country so may take a while. I’m waiting to see how it turns out because I just got another order yesterday under the same circumstances and dont want to ship it out until I know. Thankfully the one I sent isn’t worth much if it turns out to be a scam. Hi there. I sold a luxury item here on PM but the shipping label only covers $50 insurance. If the package gets lost in the mail, how does this protect the full $2k item value? The USPS did not allow me to add additional insurance. Legally, that shipping label only protects the seller up to $50. The item gets shipped to posh first for verification of authenticity. The seller should not be responsible for any damages incurred once someone else opens and repackages the item. Thoughts? Thanks

She took a measuring tape and measured her bag, saying my measurements are incorrect. The bag of hers looks similar to mine, but definitely able to notice the difference in her pics. The hardware on my bag is gold, hers is silver. The snakeskin pattern on her bag is much darker. I replied to PM in the case comments as well as uploaded the differences

Update on the buyer who tried to switch a purse. Poshmark Released my funds And gave the buyer her money back. I’m happy that I got my funds Released but it concerns me Because the buyer now can try to scam someone else. I think Poshmark knew that buyer was trying to scam me, Oh I guess they took the easy way and compensated both of us. It took #3 or four days to make the decision which usually things are resolved much quicker if I have a case opened up. Oh well it is what it is

Started video taping my sales from beginning to end after reading how often a case is opened. I just had a buyer rate me 4 star because she usually wears an XS but this fit more like and XXS. Measurements were in the listing and she blocked me after waiting three days to accept it. She said she gave it to a coworker. 5 months of selling and this over a $6 Tommy Bahama Shirt. I have a Small so all she had to do was reach out to me like I said in my thank you card. She did say it was a pretty??

I just mailed a channel bag and now I’m absolutely terrified it’s going to be stolen. It’s not yet been authenticated by PM but I’ve emailed them to ask them to return it to me. Has anyone else done this? Is there any way to stop this sale once it’s been mailed? I feel sick with worry. I had no idea that sellers were so completely unprotected on this site.

@marleemarie101 yes, posh refunded the buyer- they mailed me my shoes back completely damaged, like our of spite or something. I don't always feel they are fair to the seller, unfortunately 😔

Should I buy from a seller if they never respond to any question I ask.. ? To me that’s bad business and I can’t trust that you’ll send it, or maybe I would like to know the size before I buy.. hence , why I ask a simple question.. lol

I'm brand new to poshmark and just make the mistake of listing the wrong selling price for an item. Someone purchased it within minutes of the listing and before I could catch it. Is there anything I can do about this? The price is much lower than the intended listing price!

@gloriajean1953 I just had Emily David contact me to buy something not using Poshmark too, said she would overnight a check and also pay $50 extra on top of the price..... was this similar I your experience?

@raelynn20 hello. Do you record your items before packing them?
May 18Reply

dozerdays19
@raelynn20 I never thought to transfer them to an external hard drive. I video tape from the moment I get the item. I take my phone and go over every detail right down to the stitching on shoes. I also talk the whole time describing the details to the buyer. I had one lady give me a 4 star rating after accepting it. She said item not described, packaging, cleanliness and shipping. Lied on it all!!!! If she did open a case I had plenty of proof and she knew that as I told her before she purchased

Just had a case opened on a skirt I sent to a buyer because she said it didn’t fit even though I correctly listed the size. She also said it was hideous and wants to return it. I’m so stressed out it’s not my fault you don’t know what size you are -_-“ any tips of how to proceed? I still deserve my money imo 😞😣

@raelynn20 this is a great advice. i am new to poshmark. i mostly buy and starting to resell. i had bad experience just very recently the seller posted "BRAND NEW, NEVER USED" but to my surprise it was freaking dirty. USED and one more evidence that is used and not what she's claiming brand new she has her receipt where she ate. omg. made me so upset. she's not hinest at all. hope buyers and sellers will disclose everything in the description. thanks for posting this.

I currently have a buyer who opened up a case against me accusing me of shrinking a dress that is brand new and never worn except to try on. She happens to have the same size dress but different print and in her photo it appears a little longer. Could it be that she accidentally washed and shrunk my dress and is blaming on me to get her money back? Or could she have stretched out her other one through wear? Has anyone been accused of this?
Jul 01Reply

saraeric2010
This is also devastating to me because I’m afraid that I won’t get the dress back in the exact condition at which I sold it. It was an expensive dress and I want it to be in the same condition. I wish there was a way to prove I didn’t wash it. I didn’t display pictures of myself measuring it in my listing. 😞

I wish I have seen this earlier. I just sold an unworn, brand new shirt to a dishonest buyer. The buyer opened a case claiming of a stain. The photo provided was a very zoomed in photo of the stain. I ask for another photo of the stain that's less zoomed in to prove that it is the actual shirt I sent. The shape of the stain on the 2nd photo the buyer provided looked completely different from the first photo. However, poshmark still approved the return. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I just had someone who personally asked me if i had any socks for sell so i looked and picked out 2 pairs that i had literally never ever worn, took pics of them from every angle, even showed how they looked on my feet for them, posted it n they said they liked them n bought them immediately. then they gave me 1 star and said bad description-socks were not good! like WTF. I do not think its fair or okay they can flat out lie and give bad reviews and we cant dispute them!

@kale442 have you ever had to use this and it protected you as a seller on e bay? I’m just curious
Jul 11Reply

meld1188
@thamuffingal I’ve had to deal with a lost item on another selling platform. Pretty much got screwed over as a seller. Hopefully they offer better seller protection on here. Possibly consider requiring a signature when they deliver it. People steal packages all the time, and you don’t want to end up having to deal with that mess

I was wondering if anyone has any advice. I’ve sold a good amount of things on poshmark, but today someone started a case saying my item was not authentic. It is very much authentic and i provided proof. I have a feeling the buyer is just not satisfied with the way it fits. Will poshmark actually look into the case or will the item most likely be returned to me?

@raelynn20 Can you please tell me what I should do if I received an order with several items purchased and a couple of items are not as described- holes and other issues, but the other item are in good to great condition. The seller shipped fast. Had great packaging. Included extras, but when reviewing the listing of the stuff that is not good. The description do not disclose the issue and one listing I even asked and she said it was in great condition, which it was not.

@csaulsbury2 I had these happen to a couple of items of mine actually. And they made more than a $25 profit too when I gave them a good deal. It’s a little disheartening for sure.
Jul 24Reply

julie_snyd
@csaulsbury2 Yes! Or at least wait a little longer to resell. I had someone bundle a couple of pricier dresses and I gave them a pretty good deal and then they turned around and sold them individually literally RIGHT after for more 😓

@preppiebohemian what ended up happening? I’m in the same situation too, I know I didn’t sent a certain item and she’s saying I did! So irritating.
Jul 30Reply

zuzusconsign
@jherrera911 well, after being on here for 4 years I have learned to just go with the flow. 1) Allow her to return the item to you and hope it’s the same one you sent her and she doesn’t damage it to spite you. or 2) just let her get the refund, keep the item, and move on. Only do this if the item isn’t worthy of the hassle. I’m sorry this happens but there are some awful people on here. I wish there was a buyer rating system so we could weed these type of people out.
Jul 30Reply

jherrera911
@preppiebohemian thanks for replying! Luckily it’s not a super expensive item but I guess we will see what happens 😞 she said I sent her the wrong lipgloss color and I know I sent her the correct one! She posted a photo of a gloss I don’t even have nor ever listed.
Jul 30Reply

zuzusconsign
@jherrera911 honestly, I would just let her keep it, let her get the refund, and move on. What I do before I sell higher priced items to buyers, I go to their “about me” and read through the comments. There is usually a pattern in their behavior. And that how I decide if I sell or not.
Jul 30Reply

jherrera911
@preppiebohemian thank you so much for the advice I will def be doing that from now on and taking pics of everything before I ship them!

Unfortunately a seller just did this to me I had a brand new Boden handbag listed pre-owned because I never used it it still even had the tissue paper and plastic around the handbag strap. She claimed it wasn't as described. There is a big scam going on people will have the same item that you have and then search on selling platforms for that exact item brand new or in very good condition.
Aug 19Reply

ihavcateyez
They will then purchase your new or in good condition item claim it not as described and send it back as not as described and get their money back. This is what she did. I think I'm done with Poshmark because their integrity is horrible. And there is no seller protection. I sell on other platforms I actually sell more items on other platforms but no one will get my good items on here any longer.

@raelynn20 what if someone bought a bracelet from me, removed some of the charms and claimed that the charms were “missing” from the bracelet. I took pictures of the sale before shipping with their label in the background, seems like posh will probably take the buyers side which is aggravating! She took charms off the brand new bracelet, and claimed I sent it out that way!!

@tdread there is so many dishonest buyers on Poshmark . And Poshmark unlike e or P very bad service handling returns . 99 percent side the buyers have no proof anything . While seller is stuck becoming guilty until prove is innocent . Take your selling business someone else . Lol

@djrome96 Poshmark always side the buyer , I took pics of my items before packing and had authentication receipt , they yet still approved the buyer‘s case. And customer service too busy to reply back to email . I would rather use other suites . Case would already closed ! Waste time Poshmark

I wish the video thing worked, but I took a video of an item that I sent before hand about a year ago and Poshmark could care less to see it, and I even posted our emails back-and-forth to each other and they basically threaten to delete my account because I shared the emails of them, not backing up their rules. Now I’m going through the same thing where a buyers trying to returned a new item that they damaged most likely because it didn’t fit.

Just opened an expensive Skinmedica product only to realize that it is empty.
How did I not notice that the box was re- wrapped? Either the seller or the person she purchased it from is an excellent con artist. I REFUSE to be out $80 and thankfully, had the bottle ( which is dark colored) weighed by a professional company. Also, the FEDERAL LAWS are beginning to STICK.No more "well too bad". More like the seller receives a notice to come into nearest office that deals with this kind of thing .

Hi! I just came across this post and this is a fantastic idea. I sold an expensive pair of sunglasses and the buyer opened a case stating that the item was not as described and damaged. The buyer included photos of damaged glasses that looked similar and not the item that I sold. I sent Poshmark support the pictures of the actual item, but now I’m waiting for an update. This is now the 2nd time this happens to me. I will be recording my items when I package them moving forward!!
