I know how hard it can be to self motivate yourself, to live a healthy lifestyle. I am a wife, mom & work 7 days a week- so finding time for myself is very limited & stressful. Putting aside 1 hour to workout seems impossible, but I *make* the time. Don't get me wrong, some days I don't feel like it! But I push myself so the moment I finish, I feel proud & one step closer to my goal. I have been learning a lot with eating clean & working out...so, I'd love to share & hear from you as well!

wildfiber I'm a first time mom to a two month old, work full time from home, and have my jewelry line. I find it so hard to even keep up with making jewelry at night I could never even think about finding the time to start working out again. Just recently I started setting aside 30 minutes to walk around with the stroller and do at least a mile - & where I live it's all hills so I feel more satisfied.

wildfiber I've come to realize that you don't necessarily need to do a crazy spinning class or push yourself into hard workouts. Even if it's walking or doing Pilates for 15 minutes- the mental and physical benefits are always worth it- you just need to start somewhere

first_string Awesome post idea! 💕 And the second pic is soo true! When you're really aware of how certain foods affect you, it can really turn you off of them.. The long term health effects from them on a regular basis just aren't worth the few moments of enjoyment you get from eating them! 🙈

mrsalliexo @scliving Girl! NO SODA! Sugar & fake sugars are not your friend 😞 Believe me I try too ( with sugar ) I actually hate soda, and it's so hard to not eat sugar. When I have urges I eat fruit or distract myself otherwise. Fruit still turns to sugar which turns to fat, but at least I'm eating natural sugar vs raw or fake sugar. If you like tea, always try to have a fresh batch in your fridge to drink instead

scliving It's so hard! I don't do coffee, so I went to soda as my alternative. I was bad with them, is drink 5-6 a day. 🙁🙈 and was always bloated ugh! I still drink them, but I have narrowed it down now to just about one, to wean myself off, and so that way I don't get terrible headaches from the caffeine withdrawal. @mrsalliexo

scliving But just by doing that I can tell the difference. I'm no where near as bloated! It's crazy lol I don't like fruits or veggies, so it's extremely hard for me to eat healthy. Idk what to do when it comes to that 🙁🙁 @mrsalliexo

mrsalliexo @simplesanctuary Awww Charlotte that's great! Your doing more then I could after having Gia. Took me months to get motivated. Actually took me planning 1 Vegas trip to say, "oh heck no!" To the weight gain and started busting my booty to loose it. If I didn't have that trip I probably would have taken longer to get motivated, simply because I don't do anything anymore after having her. It goes from just you and your husband having a life to bam your life is DIFFERENT and confined.

mrsalliexo @simplesanctuary So hard to get used too, so even trying to throw in working out... ha ha good luck! But I agree, walking 20, 30, 40 mins a day- whatever works for you, do. It's doing it that's key. Also for your sanity! I built mine up from only the elliptical, to buying weights off Amazon and doing routines from searching Pinterest, to now doing the elliptical & weights which is about 1-2 hours a day. Sounds crazy but it works and it's all from home.

lovely_trend I have an 8 year old and it seems so hard to lose that baby fat😩 I'm a vegetarian so I turn to carbs (horrible I know) so I started eating less carbs bread, pasta, rice and beans for about 2months (which is all hard because I'm Hispanic and Italian LOL) but I've lost 15lbs! Feeling sexier and started to love my body again! 🙌🏽

mrsalliexo @scliving Yikes girlfriend! Sodas are probably one of the worst worst things for you 😞😞 you will loose so much weight quickly ( I might add ) if you just cut those out. Maybe try switching to flavored waters? There's SOOOO many at target to choose from. And when I hear people say they don't like fruit and veggies- you drink them. Blend them up and pound it.

mrsalliexo @scliving Don't add peanut butter because that is a dense calorie food group that makes you gain weight. All these girls on Instagram make there pretty smoothies with peanut butter and it boggles my mind because that's what bodybuilders take to gain weight before they lean out to compete. So DONT do that for flavor, add in cocoa powder or vanilla extract 🙂

So I know you know this, but you will never loose weight by eating carbs in your diet 😌 the known way is to be carb free 5-6 days a week and let yourself have carbs 1-2 times a week and I don't mean splurge either lol. Literally carbs make you bloat, terribly by inches, gain weight, retain water. When you eat a lot of carbs, and you cut back your loosing water weight not fat 😣

mrsalliexo @scliving It's okay! A lot of people don't know and think because it's a "healthier" food, it's okay for you. Almond butter, cashew butter, all nut butters will make you gain weight FYI. So it doesn't matter which nut, all nuts will make you gain weight if you eat them consistently. I feel you should look up the "Paleo" diet.

scliving Perfect! Thank you! I'm almost where I want to be. I hate exercise, not gonna lie lol and because I work in pediatrics I feel drained at the end of the day. I don't feel like doing anything (which probably isn't an excuse haha) but I wanted to at least eat better or watch what I eat. I just have this little bit of "pouch" in my middle area which is always the hardest to loose. If I can get that then I'm good haha 🙈🙊🙋🏻 @mrsalliexo

mrsalliexo @scliving Aww you have to be. Working long shifts, drive time, etc, it's so hard to be healthy nor care too & then throw working on top of it, oh heck no lol. But the left over mom pouch ( I still have & hide well in photos ) is strictly diet and cardio/ab workouts. Diet mainly. You eat a ton of carbs & sugar you will never loose the pouch 😞😫

scliving I know! Ugh. It's not that big, a lot of it has gone down by watching what I eat, and cutting down sodas. I'm eventually going to get to where I don't drink them at all. But even with the one, I'm getting to where I don't finish it which is a good sign. I just wish I could eat things like berries, oranges, strawberries stuff like that that look so good but I just don't like 😫😫😫 @mrsalliexo

alwaysposh247 @mrsalliexo I would say my biggest problem right now is the 🍻 and 🥂 on the weekends sometimes but how can I say no especially now that we are going to Vegas I am going to have two weeks of cheat days😳🙈😂honestly I'm really excited about it and this trip I haven't been on a long vacation since last summer☺️I'm so excited to take lots of pics too. Ok so what I'm getting at asking is how do you eat good and stuff when you go on vacation or you don't hehe😏

If you don't eat clean 24-7 ( meaning sugar free, carb free, dairy free ) a strictly protein and veggie diet then worrying about being good in Vegas is pointless. Example: I eat 90% perfect all week and allow myself 1 day of week to splurge on 1 meal or the day. BUT I still work out to burn off everything I just ate that was bad.

mrsalliexo @alwaysposh247 With alcohol, stay away from heavy beers- do light beers only. No wine ( full of sugar ). When I go to Vegas I either do light beers or champagne. It doesn't take much for me to feel something so I really don't drink a lot

mrsalliexo @alwaysposh247 DONT copy what those girls post on IG. Acai bowls are healthy because it's fruit, but there packed with calories. Especially if there's peanut butter in them. I LOVE them but it's a good way to gain weight. Those beautiful super fit girls on IG are 99% on supplements to enhance there body faster then your basic women, they have trainers 24/7 and they live and breath fitness. They post beautiful photos to gain followers, remember that!

Yeah I'm a light weight too lol 😂 ok so the carbs I'm good about and I don't eat a lot of sugars but I had no idea dairy wasn't good for you cause I thought it's ok to do like cheese/proteins/and veggies no? So I should stay away from dairy?

lori_39 @mrsalliexo Great post, Allie! I struggle every single day and an aging/slowing metabolism doesn't help. Years ago I gained a ton of weight and lost it on a similar program to weight watchers. Since then I've gained and dropped about 20 pounds, now I go back and forth with about 10 pounds. I'm currently about 8 pounds over my lowest. I do hot yoga, yoga sculpt, walk, and lift weights.

mrsalliexo @alwaysposh247 It would take so long to explain the pros and cons about dairy... Your best bet would be googling about dairy 🙂 I don't want to write the wrong things, based on my own opinions and someone chime in lol. I don't eat dairy because it's fattening and I simply hate milk. I feel so dirty and gross having dairy in my body plus it can cause acne. I have pizza from time to time. But other then that I choose almond milk if I have too ☺️

alwaysposh247 @mrsalliexo Oh my gosh I am going to go read all about it now cause I hate acne and sometimes I will get like one or two zits and I hate it so much I don't drink milk I just don't like but I know if I do eat dairy sometimes I feel really heavy bloated and yucky afterwards I've always wondered if that's why now I'm going to look into and google a dairy free diet ok so no dairy and I will start to do proteins and veggies when I get back

Lol only doing 30 squats you might as well walk your block once because it does nothing 🙈 To actually gain muscle in your bottom you have to work out hard, with weights, 5-7 days a week. Doing 4 sets 10-12 reps of each exercise. And I do about 6 different exercises and follow it up with the elliptical for 30 mins daily. I work out legs twice a week totally 1 hour each time. No breaks.

Place it over rice or by itself or Chicken with green beans or broccoli Snack: Repeat above Dinner: I either do the same as lunch. Or do Chicken with just avocado, chicken with zucchini spaghetti. Ground turkey salads or ground chicken salads. NO DRESSING. Salsa only

1cass06 @mrsalliexo This is so awesome!😊 I'm glad you started this forum. I'm a stay-at-home mom as well. Finding the time to exercise and eat clean has been a struggle. Sodas and pastas were my kryptonite. Now I drink 8 cups of 💦 a day, 🏋, exercise and eat clean- for the most part. I had a health coach take me to the market and show me ingredients in the foods I loved to consume. It was disturbing to find out what I was actually eating! (plastic, petroleum, etc.)!! That was a HUGE motivator for me. 🍎

mrsalliexo @alwaysposh247 I don't believe in eating cows. I feel it's cruel and not okay. Chickens, don't bother me one bit. My logic? I have no idea lol but I just can't do cows. Yes, balsamic and vinegar is fine! Thick dressings etc aren't, just read labels 🙂

alwaysposh247 @mrsalliexo but I saw this poster three weeks ago and it just hit me really hard it was this cute little baby cow playing with a cute little dog and underneath it said how can you love me and play with me and pet me and want me to live with you but how can you eat me we both have the same souls and feelings it said under the cow it was just so sad it really got to me and I started to cry for all the meat I already ate in my life😔🤓

mzariaz Much props to you! You go girl! Being a mom definitely turned my life style around. I used to live at the gym. I would wake up in the morning and spend 3 hours at the gym 6 days a week. Now I'm lucky if I even hit 8000 steps on my Fitbit. I'm slowly putting my home gym together. Hopefully I'll get to where you're at soon. Kudos to you!!!

wildfiber @mrsalliexo ah I love the last picture you added! Honestly, I felt broken from having an emergency c-section, physically and actually more mentally. As you know from being your own boss, there's no one there to tell you to stop and "take a break". My husband is a physician and he can't emphasize enough how important simple exercise is just for the mental benefits alone. That's why it's so important for us to take a little time out of the day for ourselves ❤

kcecy1107 love this post! I'm a gym rat, lol. So for me the easy thing is to workout. I love my crossfit. I'm a mom of two, full time job (from home) in IT and I go 5x per week. The hard part is the diet. Zero motivation to drop the carbs and sugar, lol. My body naturally burns fat even resting so my doctor said I need more carbs so that I have more to burn than my fat with my intense workouts. But I'm sure they didn't mean cake, donuts, pizza 🙈

mrsalliexo @chicinspiration Hi! So I'm starting to break it up on days that I have time. It's so hard for me to work out around 7 and end around 8:30 at night. I work out for maybe 45/1 hour with weights then the elliptical for 30-45 mins depending on how quickly I can burn 250-300 calories. I noticed if I do the elliptical earlier in the day and weights at night I work out better because I'm not so tired doing them back to back daily

That I'm a bored mom, have nothing to do with my life etc etc. The fact that someone is taking the time to write about me is 1. Sad & pathetic 2. I want women to see how not to act and how cruel women are to one another. How it can effect someone. It's a form of bullying & I'm not okay with that. If not then they see their mothers bullying and think it's ok so they in turn do the same thing! It's a vicious cycle that will continue unfortunately until we start educating young. I did paleo for 4 months I think and the physical symptoms went down and it was out of sight out of mind. 😑. I just recently am reading up on advertised gluten free items really just make you gain weight. I've been meal prepping one specific GF meal for two.

mrsalliexo @kswear1220 advise is staying OFF the scale. Since I started heavily working out with weights, I've gained weight from muscle, but dropped measurements by inches. So I weight 122 but am so much skinnier. It's how your body recomps itself.

mrsalliexo @kswear1220 When people ask my weight I hate to answer because 1 girl at 120 mostly fat vs 120 with mostly muscle look completely different and have different measurements. So try not to "believe" the scale. Base it off measurements with a soft tape measurer. Measure your entire body, write it down with the date and re-do it every 2 weeks just to see where you end up.

I don't feel too stressed about it, after reading about all the CONS to advertised GF food AND the scale, kind of a bottom for me. Totally agree about the scale and weight is diff on everyone. I'm in a pretty unhappy spot with myself but actually feel really motivated. I love the check-in idea and setting a goal for myself. Thanks for the advice and this entire post!

mrsalliexo @leesha_33 discipline is extremely hard to keep up with. Trying to manage life, being a mom, working, house work, MYSELF & so on is so hard. I actually starting making plans and setting goals to meet that timeline. Example: Vegas to see Britney, Palm Springs, just going to the beach etc. Places I knew I was going to be in smaller clothes or a bikini taking photos. Sorry if that sounds vain, but it motivates me to get my rear in shape.

mrsalliexo @leesha_33 Before I started fertility medicine I was 108 and extremely skinny. Looking back it didn't look good. I was OBSESSED with the scale instead of looking fit and toned. The scale is CRAP! I look better now then I ever did before having Gia because I work out with weights and gained muscle then being soft skinny. So really really try to get into something to help build muscle while doing cardio

leesha_33 @mrsalliexo OMG I so get it!! (Besides the pregnancy) I do the exact same thing creating goals/making plans- it's not vain at all! I was always small too & after a few surgeries, being put on steroids, etc. I could live on lettuce & gain weight 😞 I've got a good 40 lbs to lose & just can't wait to feel like ME again. Then I can go on fertility meds & gain again lol! 😋 Lifting weights feels great doesn't it? It just completely changes your body, I love it (& I so agree about the scale)

kswear1220 @mrsalliexo hey! I wish there was a way to tag anyone that has any input. But stomach..waist.. Besides eliminating certain foods, and for allergy reasons I have to anyways, what are the good workouts for shedding in that area? The elliptical is the only machine we have at home, I'm not much of a gym go-er, plus you don't need a machine for everything. But any thoughts on that problem area?

mrsalliexo @kswear1220 100% diet 😌🙈 and working out. So crunches are a total waste of time. Anyone that wants to argue me they can lol. I do planks for 30 seconds 5 times. With 1 minute testing time. It has changed my stomach so fast compared to years of wasting my time with crunches. Planks are a b*tch but they work & quick.

mrsalliexo @kswear1220 Do them 3 times a week and you will see a change + cardio. Those two things have been the greatest asset for me. Try doing those for two weeks and come back to this post and tell me if your tummy is flatter

mrsalliexo @kswear1220 Lol! Seriously. Crunches blow. Planks do to BUT you actually see results and quick. Yay! I'm happy. Message me after day two weeks. I'm so curious & hope they help some. Measure your tummy and hips with a measuring tape. That's what I do each month just to see where I'm at. I'm going down in inches not weight** so also, NO SCALE.

kswear1220 @mrsalliexo I typed all my measurements in my notes in my phone last week but last night I tried an update and EVERYthing got wiped clean, all my photos, sucked. Regarding the last weeks measurements, I know for sure there was no progress made, it was a bad week but yeah, my body does not want to change a centimeter without more exercise 😑. Your Insta photos are huge inspo. Your tummy/lack of tummy is INSANE. But it's elliptical night! I will def try that out and share! ❤️

phyllisz @mrsalliexo Also, the fact that I'm half Italian/half Greek doesn't help. My familly's lives revolve around food, and PLENTY OF IT! They don't get that I don't eat meat at all (Since 2006), and can survive on fish, veggies and fruits! Lol 😂 🍅🥝🍒🍇🍎🍐🍌🍓🥑🥒🍆🌽🥔🥕🐟. I also limit my carbs and sweets. I only eat cake on special occasions. Very difficult

I personally lost my pregnancy weight (both times) by following weight watchers (back in 2005)...I know it wasn't healthy, I could eat crap food and then not eat the rest of the day and I lost weight. I never worked out and barely ate (drank lots of coffee and energy drinks).

reneemarie1024 @mrsalliexo I lost so much weight doing this and I remember feeling awful. I've gained 20lbs since then. I'm wanting to lose 10lbs, and was thinking of doing low carb. Is there any way you can post your diet plan on here? I want something easy to follow.... you said no carb 5 days a week. So that's absolutely zero carbs or low carbs? I just need some general guidelines so I can get rid of these few lbs 😭😣

mrsalliexo @phyllisz You and I are the same! I was so darn skinny but with no definition before. I was soft skinny which to me, looking back wasn't attractive. I looked almost sick lol. I come from an Italian background and boy my family eats!!! I'm the pasta queen 👸🏻 ha ha! It's my favorite and it's so hard to pass up. I don't eat red meat, only fish & chicken. I just can't do red meat.

phyllisz @mrsalliexo You too! It's very hard work, for sure. Anastasia (my daughter) is five years old now. But, I was determined to get back in shape no matter what. I had a very easy pregnancy. No morning sickness, no aversions to food. Craved pizza and salad for 9 straight months, and indulged in those cravings every single day.

phyllisz @mrsalliexo It wasn't till giving birth that I realized my body wasn't going to just bounce back magically. For the first time in my life, I had to diet. Once the weight came off, I had to exercise to firm up. I've been at it ever since. Yoga, swimming, weights, biking, hiking.......You name it, I do it. I get bored with just one thing, so I have to mix it up to keep at it. 💪

mrsalliexo @reneemarie1024 I just am so up front and honest with everyone that ask's for a quick answer and the quick answer is clean eating + working out. Weights burn fat faster. Just doing cardio will take longer and see results longer. Eating several smaller meals throughout the day is key

mrsalliexo @reneemarie1024 So I personally....have 1. Breakfast 2. snack 3. lunch 4. snack 5. dinner 6. protein shake before bed. I have a protein shake before bed so it helps my muscles repair themselves while I sleep and I don't get hungry or wake up starving since I burn so many calories a day.

mrsalliexo @reneemarie1024 I do the elliptical before my New Arrivals for 30 mins burning 250 calories and then work out for an hour at night before or after dinner for 1 hour using weights with no long rest periods. I know it sounds crazy and tiring as hell WHICH IT IS....It's what works

karens54 Really cut down on the dairy. As far as exercise, I love getting out for a good, long walk. It not only is good for my body but that quiet alone time does wonders clearing my head. My husband and I enjoy dancing so we try to get out on weekends for that. Oh, I've never smoked, never eat fast or processed foods and I have been drinking wine with dinner since I was 18.

jilmonaco You are stunning! 💕 So I am preggos & ate about 20 grams of carbs a day before I found out I was expecting, and have read about it being bad to do while you are pregnant. You obviously went through pregnancy and are healthy/fit mom, so what is opinion on this? What did you do while you are pregnant?? mrsalliexo @jileenmonaco So, when I was pregnant, luckily I didn't crave sugar. That was a huge fear of mine because I normally have a sweet tooth. I craved fruit daily, I mean I'd eat cartons a day lol. I actually didn't follow anything... I was cautious. Cautious at what I ate because I knew it would be hard to get off. I gained 30 pounds total.

mrsalliexo @jileenmonaco So I started at 108 and ended up shy of 140. I can say, I WISH I was better so it wouldn't have been so hard to loose it. I also wish I was more active when I was pregnant so it wasn't harder to loose it 🙈. So I'd advise, stay walking a lot, try to limit fatty foods like dairy and bread. But don't diet! Your baby does need a little bit of everything ( I feel ) 🙂

I was so cautious about what I ate before being pregnant and literally never craved sweets and now I want them constantly. 😂 It's crazy. I definitely need to find a balance like you said! missjessica1226 I'm with you on this!!! I just started getting back in shape after having my son on xmas eve of this last year. I've lost 22lbs in just under 3 months. I also had to make time everyday for myself. Now I spend 1 hour a day in our basement gym putting in work and I feel so amazing. I downloaded an app called fitplan its $10 a month and provides allll different types of workout plans to help show you how to workout the most efficiently & reach your goals.

traciee_rae007 This is so true....I use to 45 miles from my work and had to be in roll call by 0545....Just for a extra 45 minutes to myself I would wake up between 230 -245 am and excerise because it was "me" time....then I would jump in the shower and do all what wives, now a ex-wife, do get my kids up, feed, and to the babysitters and off to work we would go. Excersise is a natural anti depressant and releases good chemistry in your brain...plus you feel like a bada**=)

momrunsfar Love love love your positive comments and being fit and making you a priority. I am a mommy of 3, 1 at home and 2 grown and I do the same and work way more than 1 job. kswear1220 @mrsalliexo You for sure don't look like you're lagging! I just started the 21 day fix and it's AWESOME. It's so simple and genius, doesn't deprive you of anything. Just portion control and 30 min work out videos a day. It's kind of "idiot proof" in my eyes, which is a plan made for me!
