Spell & The Gypsy Collective Daisy Chain Barbarella shorts. Super cute ruffled hem with elastic waist. Absolutely love this style, I have several pairs of the Barbarellas I just don't reach for these as much as my others 😭 Size Medium, excellent condition. Yes this style fits much more flattering than the Wild Horses, when i bought the wild Horses I thought they were the same fit as the barbarella but boy was I wrong! They're weirdly long in the center and short on the sides lol! still cute though, and you're right especially for lounging! I have the Bralette to match and the Kimono and I feel really fabulous laying around the house when I wear them all together 😂

hooch86 @retrocollective yeah they are weirdly long in the middle...lol!! But comfy.... keeps my inner thighs from rubbing together.😂 I only have the shorts🙁 I wish the clothes made me feel fabulous but I feel I make the clothes look bad. I have super poor body image of myself ☹️

retrocollective @hooch86 aw I can understand that, it took me a long time to be comfortable with my body and honestly I'm not 100%. There's days when I look in the mirror and can't stand what I see. I used to be a size 00 and gained a lot of weight, got up to a size 10. I started focusing on losing it and hover around a size 6 now. It sucks to not feel comfortable with your body, I totally get it! we are all beautiful though, just the way we are ❤️

hooch86 @retrocollective I wonder if l will ever get to the point of being happy with me. I'm about a size 6-8 depending on the day. Im 43 and I'm finding it's a lot harder to loose the weight. I have a muffin top and my inner thighs tend to rub on my heavier days. I work out mon-fri but I just have a hard time controlling my food intake! I've always loved to eat and I ate whatever I wanted. It's sooo hard to change my ways. 😞 I'm happy for you though that you've gotten to that point. You go girl!! 😁

retrocollective @hooch86 aw I hate to hear that 😢 Working out 5 days a week is great though! It is really hard to lose weight but it sounds like you're on the right track. Keep doing that and I'm sure it will pay off! I know what you mean about the eating though, I can't control myself on that one either, plus I'm a sucker for junk food! I have muffin top too 🙈 can't wear skinny jeans anymore that's forsure

I recently had cosmetic dental surgery, and that made a huge impact on how I saw myself. (Had horrible teeth my whole life) not that I'm an advocate for surgery or anything like that! but maybe focus on the things that you would like to change or improve

hooch86 @retrocollective it's all good.... it's been a life long struggle for me. Even when I was 90lbs I hated everything I saw in the mirror. My husband always tells me he loves just how I am but it's hard to believe. Junk food is my heaven..lol! I've been a junk food addict my entire life....is soda....yum!!! I only drink 1 a day now though that's helped.

hooch86 @retrocollective I have strong arms and legs but there's still cellulite on both. Just really having a hard time with the inner thighs and tummy. I'll wear skinny jeans but I wear an oversized shirt to cover the muffin top. 🤣

hooch86 @retrocollective Thank you!! You are as well! 🤗 Oh I could use some major dental help!! I'm missing a lot of mine in the back and 2 on the sides that you can see when I smile. It definitely doesn't help in the confidence or self esteem area. I'd love to have it done but I keep shopping to make myself happy and that leaves no money for teeth. I get them cleaned and take care of them though

retrocollective @hooch86 lol I'm the same way, love me some soda! It's been really hard to stop drinking the damn soda! And lately I've been on an Icee kick, sooo much sugar 🙈 sounds like you have sweet and supportive hubby, my boyfriend tells me the same thing and I always say "you only say that cus you have to!" Lol but really it's nice to have someone who loves us no matter what. And I feel you on the oversized shirts, that's my favorite way to go. I can't remember the last time I wore a "fitted" shirt 🤣

hooch86 @retrocollective it took a lot of will power to go to one soda a day!! I used to drink 8-10 a day so yeah soda is SUPER YUMMY!! Now I drink a lot of water and have a soda at dinner. Yeah he's supportive for sure and I feel the same he says it cuz he has too. 😂 I'm happy to hear your BF is the same way!! I don't think I've worn any fitted shirts in probably over 18 yrs. my daughter is 17 and I don't think I've worn a fitted anything since she's been born...lol!!!

retrocollective @hooch86 it took me years of saving, and my bf helped pay for it too. It's so expensive, it's sickening! I'm still not even done, we just focused on the smile teeth for now. I had 4 extractions so I know what you mean about missing teeth, it sucks. I'm supposed to get implants but it will be another couple years of saving. I'm 25 and have been working and saving toward my teeth since I was 18 years old (my mom never cared to take me to the dentist as a kid)

I have one missing on the upper side too that shows when I smile, me and you have a lot in common it seems lol! I've heard of some people going to Mexico or other countries for dental work, they say it's a lot cheaper! Takes a lot of research though I imagine to find the right doctor

hooch86 @retrocollective I have to say that's something to be proud of that you had the will power to save to get what you have done so far at a young age! I bet you'll get there before you know it!! At least the smile teeth are looking great!! That's awesome you BF helped you out as well!! My mom always took me to the dentist but when I was 17 to 20 I got into coke and that just ruined my teeth. I've been clean from that since I quit at 20 but the damage was done!

hooch86 @retrocollective it does sound like we have a lot in common!! I've been to Mexico to get a root canal and let me just say I don't have the tooth/cap anymore just the empty roots in my gums. It was shoddy work and I don't even think it last 2 years. So if you decide to go to Mexico definitely do some research!!

retrocollective @hooch86 oh I understand that, I have a co worker actually who's going through the same thing and he hasnt made any efforts to quit and it is destroying his teeth. He's in his 30s I think and has been on that stuff for more than 10 years, the damage had definitely been done already! I'm glad to hear that you were able to get clean from it all! That sucks about the shoddy work in Mexico! Wow not even two years, crazy. I'm so sorry that happened to you, what a waste of $

I'm just glad I'd had enough and again had the will power to just walk away from the drugs and the BF who got me into them. Luckily my parents let me come home and I never did it again. Hopefully your co-worker can stop but you really have to want to or getting clean won't happen.

hooch86 @retrocollective Yeah it sucks. Nothing for you to be sorry for but thanks. I actually didn't pay for it out of my pocket I had help from a family my daughter went to kindergarten with. They paid for it out of the church they belonged to that's used to help people. It was still a waste of money but the pain is gone so there's at least that positive 😊

hooch86 @retrocollective Thanks. It's a hard road but again you really have to want to quit or you'll just keep at it or if you get clean your more likely to relapse. It's definitely easy to follow the wrong path at that age for sure and a bf who's a bad influence definitely doesn't help. I'm thankful my parents let me back home because if not I don't know where I would have been or what would have happened. I was lucky in that aspect of things

hooch86 @retrocollective Yep it was really nice of them that's for sure!!! They came to me I didn't ask. I didn't even know a church would help with that. I used to help in my daughter class and I would dip a q-tip in orajel and let it sit on my tooth and the other mom asked me what was wrong and a few days later she told me she was going to take me to Mexico and get it fixed. Even though I lost the tooth in the end I'm grateful to not be in pain.

hooch86 @retrocollective Now we have insurance and I get my teeth(the ones that are left) cleaned regularly so my mouth is healthy, just missing many teeth that hopefully someday will be replaced with implants 😊

retrocollective @hooch86 yea I don't think he has any desire to quit, and we're not close enough friends for me to tell him how to live his life but I hope that one day he decides he wants to! Its wonderful that you were able to move back home and that you had family support, it's crazy to imagine how different things could turn out if they hadn't been there for you during that time! Yeah I'm super grateful they were there for me cuz who knows where I'd be today, if I even would have survived to this age. Thanks I'm glad they were too!! I was family and will power that for me through. I didn't go to rehab....

hooch86 @retrocollective Right!!! I was/am so grateful to her and her church!!! I had no idea either it came as quite a shock to me! They took me and my daughter down there along with her family and made a day out of it. It was very sweet of them!!! Thank god I don't have that kind of pain anymore to have to use that trick anymore!! It's pretty painful as you obviously know. I hope that you no longer are in that kind of pain to have to use it either 😉

hooch86 @retrocollective Thanks...I'm strong in some areas and weak in others. My husband and I quit smoking cigarettes out of plain stubbornness...lol. Neither one of us wanted to be responsible for buying the "last pack" so we just quit buying them and we haven't had a cigarette in almost 8yrs...lol!! 🤣

retrocollective @hooch86 oh yea I forgot insurance doesn't cover everything, damn! I don't have insurance, my total quote for everything all together was close to $20K. The dentist I found though offers a "savers plan" that costs $100 per year but they apply a pretty hefty discount to the bigger stuff like crowns and cosmetic work.

retrocollective @hooch86 That's the reason I went with them, because they're in office discounts were wayyy more generous than any other dentist I researched. The husband and wife who own the practice are really dedicated to helping people without insurance and who can't afford the care they need. They offer financing too but I have enough debt as is lol

They market their "savers plan" a lot so when you're looking search for that and just compare who offers the best discounts and of course ask to see their portfolio of their work. My mouth was a perfect before and after picture for my dentist lol!

hooch86 @retrocollective let me just say insurance sucks now a days.... our medical insurance has a 6000 deductible so until we meet that everything has to be paid out of pocket. Our dental has coverage of 1000 for each of us and that's no where near enough for my mouth...lol!! Holy cow that's a lot(I'm sure to replace mine would be close to that too) but it sounds like you have a good dentist/plan that works worn you!! 😆

I'm the same way, I've been good lately though because I actually can't buy anything lol but whenever I do have the funds I catch myself scrolling through my likes deciding what to buy 😂 I gotta stop lol! I wish I could quit smoking, I've tried but it's hard! I don't smoke much, maybe a couple a day and I don't smoke indoors so that helps if I don't feel like going outside in the heat lol I smoke most at nighttime after a long day

retrocollective @hooch86 oh my gosh yea that is not enough! Crazy! Maybe I don't need insurance after all 😂 yea it's a lot, I couldn't believe it when they told me all the work I needed done. A whole lot of root canals, extractions, fillings. An embarrassing number of them to be honest, and at 25 years old. I felt so ashamed, though it really wasn't my fault (I blame my mom) so much money 😭 it's insane. but that's life, just gotta take it one step at a time!
