I get this question a lot! The jeans You're looking at Were Not Mine! But... I'm 5'4" tall! Average Height! AKA "Short" in the World 🌎 of Denim. πŸ˜‚ Go figure! I wear a 29" Inseam with flats. And a Standard 32" Inseam skims the ground when I wear 5" high heels! In the pics modeling these Ultra Fab Dojos I'm wearing a 5" πŸ‘ ! As you can see by the "break" at the bottom of the jeans, this 34" Inseam is way too long! I wear Size 29 (7/8) (amazing stretch) to 32 (13/14) (runs very small & fit loose).

gratefulmaker @brookiielynn My Inseam for ankle Length skinnies is 27.5". I'm not sure if at 5'1" you would just subtract 3" (from my measurements) but it seems logical enough. So maybe your bootcut measurements would vary from 26" with flats to 29" with very high heels. And then 24.5" For ankle Length skinny jeans. (So basically just normal skinny crops). Definitely recommend measuring your own pants that fit! : ) Your inseam shouldn't change much! ; )

brookiielynn @gratefulmaker is this just a reference guide? I'm sorry I'm so confused πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I'm 5'6 !!!

gratefulmaker @brookiielynn LOL! Yes!!!! Someone else asked me a bunch of questions earlier!!! Was trying to get back around to answering them all for her!!! Figuring out how to buy jeans online is a tricky subject so I made a few listings to help answer the questions I get most frequently! Have a great night! 😘

brookiielynn
brookiielynn @gratefulmaker I definitely think that this guide is very helpful!! Very smart thinking!! Would've never thought of this!! I always get stuck just returning my jeans or keeping the ones that I have for years because I can never find ones that find "perfectly!!"
Aug 18Reply
gratefulmaker
gratefulmaker @brookiielynn Yes!!! The posh ladies (plus google) all taught me how to measure jeans and how important it is for buying clothes online. The flat across the back measurement gives you a great idea about wether or not the jeans will fit! ; )

brandedperfect
brandedperfect I am 5'6 and I still need just a 31 inch length sometimes a 30. So I guess I have short legs and a long torso lol. I better learn how to him because almost all of my jeans are WAY too long :(

straitray
straitray And I’m the odd ball! I wear the same waist size as you, however, I ride horse too when I buy jeans I look for the longest length they make.. 34-37. I want my jeans to stack on top of my boots. When I sit down I want my ankles covered. Like I said I’m the odd ball!

gratefulmaker @straitray Sounds normal to me!!! I like my pants too long. They always end up with Fray! πŸ˜‚

hmarndt
hmarndt SUPER HELPFUL!! I'm the same as you size/height. It's always a struggle to find jeans that aren't ten feet long! (I bought one pair from a fellow Posher who DIDN'T note that they had hemmed the jeans before purchase. Needless to say I was VERY disappointed, but ended up turning them into capris!) 29" inseam is that length between short/petite and regular. Short is too short and Regular is too long! I feel your pain. πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

gratefulmaker @hmarndt Jeans manufacturers are So all over the place. πŸ˜‚ Sometimes ankle length are just right for 4’4” and sometimes still too long for flats. And sometimes they really are ankle length. πŸ˜‚ Now that I measure everything, I don’t know how I went without doing so before. It’s definitely a very good idea to know your Inseam Range! 😘😘😘

hmarndt
hmarndt @gratefulmaker I'm fortunate that my mother is an excellent seamstress, so I always make her hem my jeans when I get new ones. πŸ˜‰

hmarndt
hmarndt @gratefulmaker and usually Capri jeans I can just unfold and they're cute ankle length most of the time. So that's always a plus!!
Feb 13Reply
gratefulmaker
gratefulmaker @hmarndt Yes, & Hem AFTER they’re washed and dried. A good seamstress is so valuable! I have seen barely visible hems and terrible ones. The less noticeable the better and original hem is best! 😊😊😊 Happy Poshing!!!

rjo623
rjo623 I’m 5’4” too, totally know what you mean! 😹I’ve had many of my jeans professionally hemmedπŸ™„ Then they are a custom fitπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ€—
Apr 25Reply
gratefulmaker
gratefulmaker @rjo623 Yes! A few years back I figured out I could ask for the original hem to be retained!!! It really helps the jeans look authentic and less altered. It’s quite funny how we Americans are SO particular about the look of our jeans, even though we don’t always realize why. I couldn’t figure why I disliked the look of hemmed jeans until I noticed that the fading pattern of the hem actually matters. Weird but completely true. β˜ΊοΈπŸ˜‚πŸ˜Š 😘

gratefulmaker
gratefulmaker @nors01 I am only 5’4”. I have a slightly long torso & wear a 29” Inseam in Bootcut Jeans w flats. I would think at 5’3” you would probably wear a 28” Inseam w flats in a Bootcut jean. Maybe 26” for skinny ankle jeans. And maybe 30” Inseam with High Heels. (( If you have a very short torso & very long legs for your height then it could be different. )) You can measure your Inseam on your own jeans that fit. Knowing Flat Across Back is great too. Hope that helps!!! 😊

kbella5656 @gratefulmaker question... do they run pretty true to size?
Jan 22Reply
gratefulmaker
gratefulmaker @kbella5656 Yes! Dojos are almost the only 7FAM that actually run True to size. (Designer sizes always seem a bit snug if you’re accustomed to brands that use vanity sizing though.) ; )
