98% of my sales have gone great, however there have been a few situations where I have been almost scammed/duped. For safety reasons I do record and take photos of everything with every angle for protection. I am an honest seller, and if I notice your item has a stain/hole/damage that I had not seen prior to taking pictures I will let you know in case you want to cancel your order :) putting this out there so people cannot damage items so they are eligible for return due to fit purposes💕

@kayciekozenko it's such a smart idea. I've had people ask to return an item because they changed their mind or it didn't fit, and I'd apologize saying poshmark doesn't allow returns for those situations and then I'd get an email from poshmark telling me the buyer filed for a return because the item was damaged or stained 🤔 once a lady purposely poked holes in a brand new leather jacket and posh sided with her and now I have a jacket I cannot sell
Sep 03Reply

fashionboost
@briannahetrick I've recorded ever since the beginning! I had a girl claim I sent broken jewelry and I sent a video to Posh showing they were in perfect condition, and packaged so they couldn't be broken in transit. They sided with me and let me keep the money!
Sep 03Reply

goldenstategems
@kayciekozenko It's really sad we have to do this though :/ I wish people could just be honest! Posh has sided with me the other 2 times a similar situation has arised. One lady said there was ink along one of the sleeves of a brand new shirt. I had photos of the front and back of sleeves that were in flawless condition so posh sided with me 😋

@kayciekozenko @briannahetrick Have you ever had to send the video to posh? How did they respond? I've been in this situation a few times myself so I'm considering doing the same thing...
Sep 12Reply

goldenstategems
@vogue_vice I've only sent pictures so far and it's a 50/50 shot they'll side with the seller. I recently just started doing this so I haven't had to submit a video yet, but I definitely will if a similar situation arises :)
Sep 12Reply

fashionboost
@vogue_vice I've only sent it once, and they ended up siding with both of us technically! They gave her a partial refund and then they payed me in full! ☺️
Sep 12Reply

vogue_vice
@kayciekozenko @briannahetrick wow thanks for the quick response - one more question how to attach the photo/video because from what I remember it wouldn't allow an attachment when you can provide "an optional not for review"

@vogue_vice hmm I haven't done it for a while but I can't remember too well. But there was a simple way I did it!

Thank you for this suggestion! I am new to selling my items and was afraid of this. I am an honest seller who just has too much stuff and I'm hoping these items can bring someone else happiness. I was concerned about scams, phony/inflated/false seller reviews and being duped. I want to take every precaution to safeguard honest transactions of quality merchandise. I wouldn't want it done to me so I won't do it to anybody else. Thanks again!
Sep 25Reply

Great idea! I had a buyer return something cuz there was a “dent in the strap” (It was leather and he unbuckled it after being buckled tightly, so of course the buckle left an indent). I was shocked that Posh even allowed him to do a return. When I got the item back, he had packaged it horribly (the box was wrapped with duck tape rather than packing tape), the backpack was damp, and it had 2 stains that were not on it before. I told Posh about it and all they did was give me a $5 credit.

Great idea! I’m currently talking with a posher who wants to buy a lot of items in my closet & possibly more that I haven’t listed yet. I’m just concerned bc she just joined PoshMark this month & she’s also asking me to text photos of items to her. I can understand where maybe she really is new & just doesn’t know much about Posh & how it works, but I’m so scared she could be trying to scam me somehow. Maybe I could go through with the sell & just record & take photos 🤔
Dec 09Reply

goldenstategems
@nikki22model that sounds a little suspicious, but I highly recommend doing that with your sales! It makes it super hard, if not impossible for people to scam you :)
Dec 09Reply

nikki22model
@briannahetrick thanks for the reply. Yeah I feel like something isn’t adding up, but I didn’t know because it’s not high end items (which I feel like a lot of scams are based around)... she’s interested in my preowned kid clothing, just several of them. Thanks again and I will definitely photo and video Everything if I go through with it all. 👍🏻

Mar 02Reply

gamer_princess
@briannahetrick its happening to much i think poshmark should allow the sellers to rate the buyers if this continues to happen even when they give low ratings on items when it doesnt fit its not a sellers problem if it doesnt fit people need to be more aware of the sizes they wear

@ladyjoy12 i admit, i actually have my # in a thread on ‘meet the Posher.’ I actually have told people it’s there because I thought there was a problem (I got a package returned & Posh nor I knew) and I asked her to verify her address. Granted, I was the seller & it sold on Posh (I do all via posh) but I wanted to remedy quickly. I promise we’re not all bad. That said, I don’t tell you to call me to arrange payment! lol.

I am so glad I came across this. I am beside myself. This week I have been scammed 3 times. I sold a brand new $450 Burberry scarf to be told it had a hole ? It did not. Upon return it had a large hole, lipstick stain and smelled like awful perfume. I looked up the buyer on Facebook and her profile pic she was wearing the scarf. I sent all of this to poshmark and never got a reply.

@briannahetrick gonna use ur photos 2 just till I have a free minute to make my own. just got a 2 star rating b/c the pants ordered weren’t “the fabric she thought it was” when in the listing it specifically has the content, pictures of tag, even the photos of the item from the store website w/ link to it for them to look it up if need be. Its like omg. she didn’t even ask me any questions. So I obviously im like “oh! She must like that brand and style of pant!”

A buyer purchased a ring from me & has filed a claim alleging the item is damaged. In the photos she submitted, there are dents in the ring which were NOT there when I mailed it. She must have deliberately knocked it against something to make it seem like the item was not as described. Unfortunately I'm still a new seller so I didn't know to take a packing video. I'm concerned Poshmark is going to approve the return & I'm going to wind up taking back a damaged ring that I cannot sell.

@jessicac90210 it’s actually a very quick process :) you only keep the videos and pictures until it gets delivered to the buyer and then I personally delete them once everything checks out. It’s helped me in a few cases so far and I’m glad I continue to do it! I highly recommend it.

@november83 I would wait for Poshmark to reply, they typically get back to you within 24 hours but the more emails sent it actually pushes your email down further. You’re protected through posh though and will get a refund :) also you can try filing with your credit card if posh is taking too long.

This has happened to me more than a few times! I now video everything that is being shipping.. as they are going into the box. I had one buyer (long time ago when I first started) say that the brand new shoes they bought were “caked with mud”. They were able to return the $160.00 new in box shoes back to me and they were in such bad condition they went into the trash!!!! Not ok! They were never worn!!!!

@briannahetrick I had that happen to a NWT Coach wallet with original packaging. This girl opened a case 2 days later saying it was damaged. It wasn’t of course! Only to find out when it came back, cause PM always sides with the buyer 99%of the time, that she had used it!!! And it didn’t come back with all the original Coach packaging. I fought PM, and wasn’t giving up. Finally they credited me with the amount it originally sold for!!!

She purchased a bikini top without reading the description and requested I cancel her order after I had already shipped. She was relentless and asked if she could refuse the package. When I told her she could reposh her item she took it a step further to trash/destroy the item so it was eligible to return. I’ve filed a mail fraud complaint against her and am awaiting my now damaged item to get delivered. Add to your block list and do not sell to her!
