vintage2classic @vintage316 You're welcome! I'm a sewist as well. What machine(s) do you use?

vintage316 @leviya Laughing, you wouldn't be impressed. I have Old singers, the ones that feel and sound like an Old Ford Truck. I love them but all my "sewing friends" have all the "names" & latest. They all love to tease me, but I'm an ol' faithful and LOATHE change (I'm a bit like my Norwegian Grandfather). I know I'll swap someday and say "why did I wait" but I'm in my comfort zone! ☺️ You?

vintage2classic @vintage316 Actually, I'm in need for a group called 'vintage sewing machine anonymous'! The old machines in my opinion are the best. I have collected over 20 machines and restored a few, had a sewing studio just recently (what else does one do with so many machines and an obscene amount of vintage fabric) but lack of funds dictated our present move to Az.

vintage316 @leviya Well...I would definitely be in your group, there is just something so solid and beautiful about the old machines, but it doesn't sound like you need convincing ☺️. Yes, life does that...I don't know where you moved from, but at least you might be closer to some turquoise! ❤️❤️❤️ Silver lining in all things.

vintage2classic @vintage316 The Singer 201's and 301's are my favorite, plus the 501 for embroidery stitching. The new ones are nice I suppose but the old are better! Do you make entirely new garments or are you redoing most? You are extremely talented my friend!

vintage316 @leviya Thank you, I am actually going to put that in my notes and I have one of those! I fear the day the sewing machine man says "nope, I can't fix it". I do a little bit of everything, make entire garments, up-cycle, etc. I get bored easy, so I jump around! 😂 I have a feeling you are a wealth of information! Wish you were my neighbor, would love to have you for ☕️ coffee!

vintage2classic @vintage316 I'm still in NJ and end of October is our move. I'll be on vacation mode for a couple of months starting any day. I've never even been to Az but my husband has, so it's gonna be a real surprise for me. You're in Oregon which is probably beautiful although I've never been there either. I love turquoise too so.....👢👢👢👢👢💞 off to new territory I go. Nice chatting with you! 🤗😙 Lorri

vintage2classic @vintage316 Well, we can do 'posh coffee' in the meantime. 😀 The old machines are often much more fixable. They were built to be fixed and last lifetimes. I also jump around with projects. But my big project right now is packing, ugh. All the best xo!
