@belle_prince Wow Belle, that is very commendable of you. It makes me cry thinking about those helpless souls but you are doing your part saving two of them. I've volunteered at animal shelters by me since college. Animals are my passion as well. I have 4 rescue cats, they are my babies. We are going to adopt a dog soon and are so excited. My shelters often gets dogs from the meat trade too. You are amazing for doing that Belle ๐

@11thstreet Thank you so much but you're right there's so much to be done. I volunteered to write for the organization too (writing letters and articles since English is not their first language) but I still don't feel it's enough. I can't understand how sentient animals like dogs and cats can be treated this way. And that's just dogs and cats. :(

@11thstreet I can't imagine how you were able to hold yourself together volunteering in animal shelters but I would like to do that too. It's amazing that you've made time to volunteer and care for those who do not have anyone else. I went to a few while looking for a fur baby to rescue and it's like you can see the sense of hopelessness in their eyes. It still kills me to remember especially for the bigger dogs who are harder to place. :(

@belle_prince That is extremely helpful to write letters given the language barriers - every bit helps. Yes, I agree the shelters can be depressing but it's all worth it when you see a dog wagging his tail going home to his new family ๐ค It is so sad to see how difficult it is to adopt out the large dogs -- I am particularly devastated for pitbulls. It seems like they are always half of the dogs there ๐ Serious overbreeding problem
