The cups are kind of strange. They are stiff but also feel like they have sand in them. Not your typical molded cup! They could be removed if need be.

@meltevavocado That sandy feeling you are describing the bust having in texture is dry rot. A rubber foam/backing was likely used and that has deteriorated. It's also known as "Devil Dust" in vintage collecting circles. It happens alot to lingerie like bras and elasticized items. The rubber eventually breaks down, and thats whats in your bodice. Decomposing rubber.
