Like and save for later
When we like an item and then a seller feels the need to follow up with a comment trying to persuade us into buying said item, it comes off as desperate & makes buyers feel pressured & uncomfortable & scares them away! Liking something does not mean we are going to buy it right then & there. We enjoy browsing & liking items that we MIGHT want to purchase LATER in the future. Yes we understand you do bundles & discounts, EVERYONE DOES! We can see it in your closet! Plz don't ruin the fun of Posh!

kingaglio Even Rover does not condone this! Please let shoppers be. Don't be like those retail associates that follow you around in the stores! Every Posher offers discounts and is open to reasonable offers. WE KNOW! You don't need to tell us this! We get it! If we have any questions we will ask you! Let buyers come to you, don't chase after them!

kingaglio Stop pressuring buyers and stop making yourself look desperate to get a sale! This also makes people skeptical about you being a scammer! Trust me, this will only hurt your sales! You'll be much more successful if you just let the buyers come to you! I apologize if I'm coming off at as a btch, but this stuff is very annoying and even Poshmark gets that! You will get more sales if you stop scaring away potential buyers away!

kingaglio When it comes to sharing things in someone's dress room, I think sharing a listing about a special sale that you're having in your closet is totally cool! But sharing generic things like "Offers Welcome!", "Make me an Offer!", "10% off all Bundles of 2 or more!", and so on, are pointless because chances are that if we liked something from your closet, we already saw that you have a bundle discount. Stop trying to shove sales down our throats!
Oct 26Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio Seriously though ladies, WE KNOW YOU LIKE OFFERS! We know low balling isn't cool, we know you want REASONABLE offers! Like duh! 99% of us Poshers do this, so there's no need to tell us something that we already know!
Oct 26Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio Also, the desperation. Come on, ladies. Really? It's like you are begging us to buy something when you comment things like "I can ship this out today and if you add one or more items to your bundle I will give you an even bigger discount and I will even throw in a free gift!" ANNOYING! Especially in cases where the items don't even cost that much, and the Posher would barely make much money. I don't understand this. I would never do this to a buyer that liked something in my closet.
Oct 26Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio Oh yes, and I almost forgot the whole "Bundle your likes and I'll send you an offer!" Wonder why people rarely bundle their likes? Because they aren't sure if they want to buy yet! They're just browsing! If a buyer went through your closet, then they have most likely seen this type of listing somewhere. Again, 99% of Poshers do this, you don't need to remind us. If we bundle something on our own, then offer the discount if you would like. Stop the pressure!

kingaglio As said before though, I am perfectly okay with someone sharing their closet's special sale to my dressing room. It's nice to know that you're having a "4 for $20" or "All bundles 40% off!" Or "buy two, get one" I feel these are totally cool because they are not your basic generic discounts that every single posher does with every single sale.

kingaglio I am not an expert seller, but I can say that I am an expert buyer. I have an online shopping problem as many of us do. And I can tell you that all of this stuff happens to me TONS of time a day! It is way too common of an issue. Yes maybe I should chill with all the liking, but I enjoy saving my options when I'm browsing, because I do eventually go back and buy something here and there. Sellers, be patient with your buyers. Overselling yourself with only hurt yourself.
Oct 26Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio Lastly, I can also tell you that I am not the only one who feels this way. Seriously, there are threads about this all over Reddit and other forum sites! Women from all over the world are complaining about this! Nothing is more awkward than a seller commenting us about something we liked and trying to pressure us into buying. It's like uhhh should I politely decline or just ignore it? If I wanted to buy it I would have inquired about it or just bought it...
Oct 26Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio Another thing about sharing to dressing rooms. Please stop sharing random clothing and items to our dressing rooms! I don't understand that! Like why are trying to get me buy something that I didn't even like? Stuff that isn't my size or my style? This is probably the most annoying seller pet peeve of mine. If I want you to style me I will click said button. STOP THE PRESSURE!

kingaglio I'm a nice person, so please don't take my honesty as me being mean. Take it as selling tips! Posh Ladies on YouTube with selling tips even will also tell you not to do pester buyers. I mean it is in the Posh etiquette article! Many advise against it, so just fall back a bit please and I guarantee you'll do better :)

kingaglio I'd love to hear from others, even sellers! Please no drama tho, I don't say means things to people just because I can get away with it hiding behind a computer screen. I don't like people who are ruthless with the keyboard, it makes me sad that people can be so hostile & malicious with no remorse. It's an ugly reflection of your character. So please! No cyber bullying! Peace, Love & Good Vibes! Let's make Poshmark a better place! ✌🏻️☮🛍💕
Oct 26Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio Oh my goodness, of course there is more! When someone politely declines, take no for an answer! Don't try to argue or push your sale on them. It is so rude! And once again, it makes you look so desperate and unprofessional! Please have respect for all of us fellow Poshers!
Oct 26Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio Furthermore, tagging literally everyone who has liked a listing into a comment underneath said listing, and then saying "make me an offer and you'll get this discount!" is another rude, desperate tactic. Please don't do this! Stop pressuring buyers! If we want to buy it we will on our own! I feel bad for people who are too nice to say no and get pressured into buying something by these bully Poshers. Don't be a bully Posher! 😁☮🌎🌞❤️

kingaglio @hazelwhispers It drives me nuts! 😩 I know I went on a crazy long rant, but I really feel like this needs to be put out there so sellers can understand that no one likes it when they do this stuff!! I can't share this enough lol

dab_fairies
dab_fairies @kingaglio lol. Girl rant on! I'm dieing right now cuz its true 😂😂😂😂 I hate being comment trolled to buy. Just send me your sale post then I will check out your closet. Also when they share stuff to your closet that you would never wear. What do you do when posh links you up with another posher to style them? I've been getting lots of them.
Nov 10Reply
dab_fairies
dab_fairies I just share them my sales posts. But if it a person asking I try to look at their closet and get an idea of their size and what they would wear. I share a few items. That's it. 😋 Veronica

fashionfauxpas Lololololil I CONCUR!! easiest way for me to UNLIKE an item is to get such comms. I have been an online seller.for 15+ yrs & loathe that hard sale sort of tactics. what slays me about this app is the amt of "boutique " items that are in actuality wish app crap. as a4mentioned I have been selling.15+ yrs & understand the concept of wholesale..buying cheap to sell for a profit vs cleaning out yer closet .
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... but to advert cheap wish app crap as "boutique" is wrong even if within pishposhmark definition of "BOUTIEUE " to me it seems like false advertising in the universal understanding/definition of "boutique" . idk but my understanding of a boutique item is unique. NOT mass marketed CHEAP 💩💩..Stuff made in lmtd quantities usually..sometimes hand made but ALWAYS made well w/an eye for detail soooo not wish app 💩

fashionfauxpas ...cont... I figured out it is approx 12 lines of reg char a little.less if emojis. so grrrl ur my kinda pish posher!! carry on!!! oh yea what also stops that annoying sales comms is if u call the person out..for example a well known pish posh darling "super star" w/a closet full of the wish shite tagged me & I thanked her for the info but told her I bought said item on the wish app for $6 that was "on clearance sale for 1 hr" in her closet for $39...
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... big surprise I got BLOCKED. seller was foxarazzi..i could name tons of other pishposh sweetheart peddling their wish app wares for 10× or more and hey it is all in th3 name of e commerce so . I don't call out them out for that reason .because if people shopped around did the work as a buyer they could easily discover this . I could go on and on but i.wont . it is more fun to get the ruthless sellers back by looking up the "sale " item
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... even if not a wish app item to to a Google or even easier Bixby search and advert the selling $$ cheaper elsewhere. don't get me wrong I wouldn't EVER randomly go in2 someone listing and comment I saw said item cheaper elsewhere or even tell people it is from wish app that is the sellers work to.do . but I can promise it WILL stop the annoying pushy selling from them and possibly their PFF CREW w/same stuff using
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... same tactics of pushy selling . HOWEVER if provoked with the comms about interested? or sale!! the gripes u aired about i am tagged about such things then i will usually be happy to inform other potential buyers ..tit f0r tat is an old saying that comes to mind .and believe me I am sooo not malicious mean spirited or unkind. I have become friendly w/several women in here and gift stuff quite a bit or sell bundles mad cheap.

fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... alot of people bundle likes cos they are afraid to make an offer and get called names as some people do . hard to tell what is a low ball ...it is subjective. some people will freak over $5 less some will take and expect 50% off offers . .no joke..what kills me slays me is when I write PRICE FIRM and STILL get 0ffers .if even just $1 or $2 less it is imho complete disrespect .
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... and just rude said person jusy couldn't control them selves and just had to get over if only q dollar or 2....altho most times when I say price is firm the offers are alot less than a few $$$. lol ..but I luv the bundle offer feature it had gotten me 25 sales in a wkend that I mightnt have gotten had i not sent a private offer .I do understand ur gripe is different and I so concur w/what ur saying esp as a buyer .I also like a lot of things i
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... wouldn't ever wear or wouldn't fit just admiring the garment for its artistic aesthetic. altho i don5 leave comms as often as i used to due to the relatively new "dressing room " feature because lately every time I comment that something is nice or exquisite etc add a complementary term I immediately get a generic "bundle ur likes for a private offer "
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... or some such banner listing.. ya know the kind which gets ur proverbial goat the ones u aforementioned... not only 1 .sometimes even 2 or 3 or 4 shared to my dressing room. instead of a polite "thank u" or some such thing it is very off putting . lastly this new feature with share requests needs to have glitches worked out I keep getting requests for "men's date night" "casual men's " or "gifts for beauty junkie"
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... when I have maybe 3 men's items posted and zero make up .I do.know alot of cool people who do have said items in their closet but no way to refer the people seeking "styling" to those sellers closets . wow I think I may have written more than u even ! once I cut and copy into nice little 500 char or less chunks will.know! ooops almost forgot 1 little thing .
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... sometimes when reordering shares or sharing to a party by pure accident I press one of the faces in that pop up page w/ recent activity people's profile pics .idk what the tech term for it ..it pops up when u go to "share" an item on android idk about ios.. so if u ever get a random "share " to ur dressing room from me thar is most likely the reason ! esp if an item that is totally obscure to ur closet aesthetic..
Dec 30Reply
fashionfauxpas
fashionfauxpas ...cont... perhaps that might even account for some of the random shares u rcvd from other closets that u recently "visited & liked" stuff in .,🤔😊😁idk I am trying on the optimist role as of late & looking to justify but most likely it is sharks on the prowl but then again mayve not

kingaglio @fashionfauxpas Hahahaha! So glad I'm not the only rambler! I hate this 500 character limit, i wish they would change it! I also wish that I could opt out of getting notifications for prices being lowered on items that i've like...because I have to have like 100,000 likes lol i'm a browsing addict to the max and I will eventually go back and buy something, but i have to love it so much that i'm gonna die if I don't have it lol
Dec 30Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio i'm nowhere near rich though, so it's rare for me to actually buy something. I just love to look & browse & like. But that also has my nofitications cluttered with comments from sellers trying to get me to buy their items that i've liked! I used to respond nicely and say that I'm just browsing but thank you anyway. but now I just ignore them because I have way too many of them!
Dec 30Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio On some that I have responded to, there have been occasions where the seller will even try to push for the sale after I say no thank you....which is just desperate and rude on their part. I do like to bundle items here and there, if I absolutely love them and i'm thinking about buying and a private offer would be wonderful just in case I decide to buy. But this is rare like I said I'm not rich.
Dec 30Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio I wish sellers who comment trying to get me to buy stuff could see just how many likes I have lol sometimes I want to say "hi there, if only you could see my mountains of liked listings you wouldn't waste your time trying to get me to buy something" lol but i hate to be rude to people, especially online.
Dec 30Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio I hate when people use their computer screen to hide behind and say the rudest things to people that they would never dare say to someone in person. It's an ugly quality. And i've had sellers snap on me for liking items and not intending to buy them, to which I just ignore. Not worth my energy. But hey, maybe someday soon I'll win the lottery or somehow come into lots of cash, and then I'll buy all my likes! You never know! lol
Dec 30Reply
kingaglio
kingaglio I rarely get on here anymore to sell, i just wait patiently for peope to ask questions or buy something. I'm so busy these days that I don't have time to post listings that much anymore. But when I get a break, I start browsing. It;s like my retail therapy lol Anyway, Thank you for sharing your rant! I love it! Happy poshing and have a wonderful new year!! You're always welcome to come by and vent! =]
