cocoviolette Is it labeled beaver fur? Because beaver felt hats were made of compressed beaver fur. They did not look like this at all. I studies Hat Making at Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and were particularly taught about the beaver hat industry which nearly killed off all beaver and did so in Europe! If the hat says fur felt inside on the brim is is likely a different type of fur. If it really is beaver it should be priced at about 4x your price as they are rare. The styling looks 70's or so.

cocoviolette It is a very interesting hat. I love the color. I just really want to know what it is. If it is beaver it should say so on the hat. By the way real beaver fur is incredibly soft. Softer than rabbit fur and much lovelier.
