Inner gray wool layer is possible to remove from for a lighter coat, eg the outer brown layer, though the 2 feel like one coat on. pockets inside both layers and outside pockets. laughslikehorse @mbalong I don't know, but if you Google conversion charts, keep in mind it's a 50 men's for France, though I would wear it if it wasn't small on me. I can measure it when I get home if you like. I haven't seen quality like this in U.S. made clothing, not even couture.

mbalong @laughslikehorse what size do you usually wear? Perhaps we can gauge by how it fits you. I’m generally a US size 48-50, XL or XXL depending on the cut of the garment.

laughslikehorse @mbalong I am currently a women's XXL in jackets, based on Columbia or North face, and this would fit me if I was comfortable in an XL, women's. Still, I won't be back to ship until Friday night so if you like I'll measure armpits and shoukders then. Meanwhile, stay cozy!♡

daphoto @laughslikehorse hi again. Ok so I have a question. When measuring …. Shoulder to shoulder measurements are usually wider than armpit to armpit, yeah? The armpits are on the inside. Then the shoulder seems are usually outside the armpit. Anyway. Seems like your armpit to armpit is much wider.

laughslikehorse @daphoto I buttoned it closed, and possibly hadn't previously. Obviously there is an inner layer that can be unbuttoned and removed, per the amount of layering/warmth you need, but interior layer is sleeveles. I agree that it appears that the armpit to armpit measurement is wider than shoulder to shoulder, but as I don't know if I'm measuring at the right position, I just took photos, so you can see where I placed the measuring stick.
