Can be used as a tote/handbag. Has lots of compartments and lock and key. New with tags still has protective covering. Very nice durable name brand bag. This one is large enough I think you could even carry a laptop in it. Take the key in the middle of the button and twist the little button until the key is straight up and down. Take the key out push the big button down and that will release the lock. To lock it back put strap back in slot and key in and turn sideways
