lexiroegner so do you have to drop all posh orders off at the post office? you said something about hanging them to yours mail lady but I thought you just had to drop them off at the post office. Putting packages in my mailbox would be so much easier so i’m curious

gratefulmaker @lexiroegner YES! You can put them in the mailbox!!!!!!! : ) I’m a work at home mom. So I put Tyvek Mailer packages in the mailbox and put the flag up. I have an alarm set on my phone. I take my boxes outside about 30 minutes before she gets here. Sometimes I balance them on top. Sometimes I just put them in a basket. I know the sound of the truck too. So I will just run them out there if nothing else is going on. But my mailman comes at nap time. ; )

leighnajohnson Hey posh released a statement awhile back saying we can now use flat rate- the logo was if it fits it ships. They even gave a form to print out in case the post office wasn’t aware yet. Did they change it again?

I’m Excited!!! 💗💗💗 I love some of the flat rate boxes that are a bit smaller and actually FIT (not just in the big blue mailboxes outside the post office) but actually inside my personal mailbox. ; ) would have been much easier in the earlier days when I often only had one box to ship! 😊

gratefulmaker @leighnajohnson no! Just me. But he works on Posh a Lot and takes care of so many other things too!!! And my kids are super distracting so it’s probably more like 3/4 time job for me. But it is Always Constant. Always thinking doing planning shipping shopping photographing commenting listing following sharing & laundry for Poshmark!!! It’s in every room of house.

gratefulmaker @leighnajohnson Ah! Oh No! Maybe there is a better opportunity is just around the corner! Posh is an expensive hobby! ; ) The sold signs & numbers look so impressive and then you do the math. Worth it But. Inventory is expensive. All the odds & ends add up. Posh gets their fair share! (20% 😳). Life is expensive! It is my side hustle and our second income. But we couldn’t make it on one salary alone right now. Posh was/is most definitely a lifesaver for me/us once I had my sweet baby girl though!

gratefulmaker @leighnajohnson I honestly think the super successful Poshers with the great inspirational stories have money to throw down on inventory, fashion knowledge, and PLENTY of free time. IDK! Just an assumption. We get by and work for more. It’s a ton of work. And it runs hot & cold week to week. I do Love it though!!!! 💗💗💗 And my kids get their mom 24/7/365!!! Even Though I can be a bit distracted at times, I think they’re happy with that.

gratefulmaker @sol2019 posh doesn’t allow you to see a buyers purchases by clicking on their profile ( not other sellers sales but also their sales directly from you ). Very strange. I only know my repeat buyers if I recognize their name or they say hi and say so. And for people who have bought several things... I really can’t keep track of what they bought. If you dive into posh head first like I did, it becomes rather difficult to sift through the sales list eventually. 😘

gratefulmaker @sol2019 Yes! I freaked out the first time it happened to me and have had questions from sellers about it before. They probably should do a little something to let sellers know to just ship as usual and say oh that was a guest user when you click on their profile. But you know Posh is always a work in progress and all of us Poshers keep the developers quite busy!! 😂☺️

gratefulmaker @sol2019 We typically just get everything packaged up and ready to go for Monday. Sometimes if we're out running errands close to the post office we will drop off packages to free up some space, but usually we just get everything ready 😊

gratefulmaker @sol2019 I just package up my weekend sales and wait for the post office to be open (mailman to come) on Monday. ; ) but if I have a ton of packages I will take them up to the post office and use the after hours drop off inside the post office on a Sunday. But nothing moves or shows up as tracking until Monday night. : )

gratefulmaker @sol2019 The tracking won’t normally show up until somewhere between 5:30 pmand midnight. Sometimes the next morning. If it’s a big sale (important package) you can ask your mailman to scan it in for you or take it inside the post office during normal business hours, wait in line, and have them scan into the system. I ask my regular mail lady to scan packages when she picks them up. I rarely wait in line to have packages scanned in though. ; )

gratefulmaker @sol2019 I always handle Poshers asking for packages ASAP with extra care. (((🙃🤨🤭😯😶They can be finicky🤫😅😳☺️😉))). I always package and ship their packages first or have my husband drop them in a big blue mailbox on the way to work. People do appreciate the extra fast service. A very very gentle reminder reminder that the post office is closed on Sunday can be a good idea. “Oh I will drop off first thing Monday morning, tracking should update around midnight on Monday night.”

gratefulmaker @sol2019 Yes I very sweetly ask the mail lady to scan my packages and thank her for it almost every time I see her. They don’t have to scan them right away and some packages (fairly uncommon) will never get scanned along their journey. And if the buyer doesn’t “accept” a never scanned package then you never get paid. : ( nobody wants that. ; )

gratefulmaker @sol2019 Actually lots of the mailmen and ladies don’t know how. They can typically figured it out pretty quickly though. Some of them think the clerks only are supposed to scan them at night. We have lots of substitute mailmen. I try to sweet talk them all. 😊😂 I give them a quick overview of Poshmark tracking system. And tell them how helpful it is to my business to have to tracking show up ASAP. It always gives me a sense of relief to see the tracking show up. : )

gratefulmaker @sol2019 but that being said. You have to get the packages scanned into the system in the first place. Pretty important with one of a kind orders that you cannot replace. (Definitely the majority of items sold on posh). So many subtle (and quite a few not so subtle) details to learn about selling on posh. 😘

gratefulmaker @bethanylynns according to poshmark, Yes! I still haven't tried it (other than mistakenly in the past, which always worked out fine anyway). I have a little system down with my old favorites and plenty of supplies for now! I think you should be perfectly fine with flat rate.

moniluv_83 @lexiroegner you can also schedule the PO to pick up your packages. Schedule the night before and they’ll come to where you specify. My mail lady rings my doorbell and I bring them out. My mail box is a lock box and doesn’t fit packages so this works best :)

I was at the post office yesterday and tried shipping a box of shoes (they didn’t have priority shoe boxes) and she said “you can use anything that DOESNT say flat rate” so I’m confused 🙃😂 if you could help me better understand I would super appreciate it! gratefulmaker @kkierstin so that’s the “old rule”. The new rule is you can. But I don’t think every single person at usps has got the message. I find it 100x easier to leave the packages in/on my mailbox. My mail carrier knows me and expects packages. I’m sure you could show them the posh article where it says you can. But honestly ALL posh mail is flat rate. It’s all one price even if the posh or the seller chips in and gives the buyer a shipping discount.

fitfamnj @lexiroegner - It's better to drop it off at the post office so you get a receipt. One of my packages got lost during the route to my customer and unfortunately she never received it. However, Poshmark reimbursed her and still paid me. 😉

gratefulmaker @fitfamnj I always think if it’s scanned in that’s just as a good as a receipt. I am basically always home and have thoroughly sweet-talked my mail-lady into scanning all my packages every time. She even has up notes for the substitute drivers to scan my packages.

gratefulmaker So for example if you are lucky enough to find a Burberry coat, dry clean it, sell it for a hefty profit, and you then want to provide an actually thoughtful free gift, like a super nice hanger you could get the flat rate gameboard box from usps.com and shipping it folded near with the hanger in place and still have a great in the box presentation set up for buyer to unwrap. 😂🥰😅😍😘 but you have to plan ahead for that. Shipping times with usps free box orders always vary. 😉
