rebeccaromeo83 Initial game as in first ever game played?

rolnick @rebeccabender83 I am not sure if this was the first game ever played or if it was the first game of a particular season. The signatures were signed with a felt-like pen, and they were not stamped on the Jersey. Thank you for your interest.

paul1900 To help you out their Beth, That Jersey is the original Florida Panthers Jersey from when they came into the nhl. They have change their logo and style of their jerseys a few years ago and that signed Jersey you have with signatures is hard to come by now. Nice piece, to bad I’m a Pittsburgh Penguins fan or I would have bought it.

rolnick @paul1900 Thank you so much Paul for the information!! Do you have any idea of what the going rate would be on this type of jersey?? I very much appreciate your feedback!!

paul1900
paul1900 @rolnick Hi Beth, The Jersey alone would cost around $180.00 if bought new from nhl store, and since you got the old Panthers Jersey, which fans like better and it’s signed. I would say about $225.00 and I would add another $100.00 to it if you have a authentic certificate to go with those signatures

shances87 Hi there is it signed by John Vanbiesbrouck?
Apr 22Reply
rolnick
rolnick @shances87 I googled his signature, and it appears to be the first signature on top of the Panthers head. Please zoom in and see if you agree.

rolnick @aaliikaa I think there is a temporary problem with Poshmark because that happened to me yesterday when I was trying to make a comment to somebody and I was getting a few paragraphs of something that had nothing to do with making a comment. Give it some time or contact Poshmark support or you can try to send me a message under a different item of mine??!!!

minicoyote This is so great to see!!! I covered their inaugural season for Palm Beach County Sports Magazine. Was my first big league press pass. One of the very few females to have that. John DeMott was the PA announcer and we both worked for WJNO/WRMF AM 1230/97.9 FM radio in West Palm Beach. Thanks for posting this as it sure made me smile. I have a lot of signed and unsigned items from their inaugural season.

minicoyote I absolutely did some PR work for the Bruins Alumni. Bobby Orr was a hoot! I have a signed stick that I treasure. It’s personalized so the commercial value is less, but the time I spent with those guys are among my fondest memories.

rolnick @minicoyote Hi Jill, thank you for the interesting history, and congratulations for being such a trailblazer!! I would hope that the owner of the panther team or one of the young players would like to purchase my paraphernalia as history to put in their home or their clubhouse!! I don’t know how to contact them, but would be happy if someone would share my post with them!! Beth in Miami.

minicoyote @rolnick I wouldn’t think Wayne H who owned the team at that time would purchase it. He also owned the now defunct Block Buster video chain. Last I heard he had something to do with used vehicles. I’d first obtain a COA, certificate of authenticity from a local sports memorabilia shop. That will help a lot with selling it for a good price. Then I’d shop it at sports bars in the arena area. Start as close as you can to the arena.

minicoyote If it doesn’t sell at first don’t give up. You have a really unique item few have. We didn’t get media gifts like that lol! Actually back then if a press pass holder even asked for a autograph we would risked our pass being pulled. Many players just offered them as a gift on the side.

minicoyote When you get the COA, that shop might want it. It’s really a great piece. I looked on Posh and a few other platforms. No one has anything that competes. You can list it on multiple platforms too. Just put in the listing that it’s on other platforms. Is there a Fl Panthers fan club? Can I be nosy and ask where you obtained this? I’ll call around and see if anyone I know has 500.00 for this.

minicoyote Sorry I reread your first message back to me and I think if you google the players names and agents name that would get you in touch with players. Jill

rolnick @minicoyote Hi jill thanks for all of your ideas. I was hoping that an interested party would contact me me This is going back at least 25 years ago.!!!! My two boys were probably around 10/12 years old, and their godfather would take them to many panther games. I’m not sure if godfather knew Wayne huzenga or if he knew some of the players. My boys told me that a blimp would fly over the arena and drop papers that were redeemable for prizes, and everyone would go crazy!!

rolnick @minicoyote my boys told me they were around 10 and 12 years old and a blimp would fly over the arena and drop papers that were redeemable for prizes and everyone would go crazy!! My youngest son got a paper that was under a chair, and his hand got stuck, and someone knocked the paper out of his hand, and he got injured he said a doctor treated him and maybe that’s why he got some sympathy signatures!!

rolnick My youngest son wasn’t sure if it was the team doctor or a doctor that was at the arena that treated his hand and maybe that’s why he got some sympathy signatures. ! Lol. I had to break this up in many paragraphs —Posh would not let me have over 500 characters at a time I had to keep editing!!

rolnick @tiffynco I do not have any certificates, but everything is authentic. My children’s wealthy godfather took them to many panther games when they were liittle boys approximately 25 years ago??? I personally like the original panther logo jersey than the ones they have today! I think it was much more impressive. They received many hand out prizes and all kinds of paraphernalia when they would go to these games. My boys are now ages 34 and 36!!

tiffynco @rolnick Thank yoy for the response, wow what a beautiful story! My bf was a junior panther when we met in highschool! He moved away and back again and now we’re season ticket holders and he just finished his panthers themed man cave so I think this is perfect for him! Go cats ‼️ I don’t want to low ball you because of my budget so I’m going to see how I can scrum up to purchase!

rolnick @tiffynco hello, Tiffany. I just want to give you an update that I was offered $375 for the panther jersey and paraphernalia. I know it holds a special interest for you and I was wondering if you would be able to make a better offer closer to my asking price at this time? Thank you. Beth.
