10/23/20 I added more recent pics of mocha and her foster siblings which have been adopted 🎉 Mocha goes in this Tues 3/31 for knee surgery. The ACL is fixed but she has a luxating patella now so the leg isn’t healed properly. Hopefully this will be her last surgery for a very long time. 🐾🐕 Mocha Chocolata ( will be 3 years old 3.7.2020) had her second ACL surgery yesterday. It would be wonderful if each and every one of you could just share ❤️ THANK YOU!

ckcloset1 @lnekat I have a tripod dog who lost one of his legs but luckily the doctors did his surgery for free before I rescued him. He's now 9 years only and loves to run as well. I just lost another one in July. Then I lost one 7 years ago to a blood disorder where I would take her every couple of weeks to get a blood transfusion which was very costly. Hang in there. Mocha will be fine and pull through everything they are resilient. As far as finances just take one day at a time. Teresa 🐶

lnekat @luckylooks hello! Mocha is doing well, thanks for asking 😊We are 7 weeks post surgery and we go to therapy twice a week. She is not allowed to run or play for another few months and the other knee will need done also. I have to decide when to do that. This 6 month no run or play is extremely difficult with a 18 month old dog 🐕

Another reason why I have been so busy the last few weeks with him, bringing him to the vet and to specialists etc. he has heart disease but they cannot find why he is losing weight and why he is anemic. He is 13 so I’m just trying to do the best I can for him♥️🐾🐾♥️‼️

lizbmiami Shared! Also...i had to do a 6k doxie back surgery when my little one was only 3. Pet insurance was my saving grace as i got back 85%!!! Im sure mocha isnt able to be covered at this point if shes not, but i highly suggest getting it for all your pups.

lizbmiami With the $$ you get back on annual checkups and monthly heartworm alone, it more than pays the premium. And god forbid something happen like they eat something and you need xrays...it covers that too. Has been a godsend...clearly i tell everyone about it lol! She was only 1.5 when she tore her one ACL We did that surgery 6 months ago and now the other leg will need done as well. It sucks but what can we do? Next pup will have insurance from day 2! adamsfmly4 Hope he is doing well. My dog had that surgery about 7 years ago. It was extremely painful for him. Took awhile but hes doing well. Our surgery was very inexpensive, I think just under 400$ because our vet doesn't believe in high prices. I shared to Twitter, hope that's okay. I don't have time to go through your closet. lnekat @mslewislv as far as where I source my items, a seller never gives up those secrets 🙃 I can tell you to look for sales at dept stores. That’s where you will find the most NWT items. Nordstrom rack, Macys etc. the other thing I will tell you is that those NWT items aren’t cheap. You have to buy higher to sell higher and that’s alway a challenge.

She is the dark dog on the left ( that’s a pic of her and her foster sissy, who found her furever home yesterday ) now mocha is sad but she needs a break. ohkayyy182 My 8 month old pup (at the time) had both knees fixed a year ago in five days! Such a scary experience. Luckily no ACL tears. Hoping they find just the luxating patellas and no actual tears! I know they can’t see it until they’re actually in there. My baby presented with ACL symptoms as well and we feared for the worst. Long recovery but it’s so worth getting them their legs back!

lnekat @damm182t friend... you feel my pain LOL. Yes, my mocha was 1.5 years old and she had a full tear in one knee and a partial in the other ( this was last sept). So we operated on the one and now it’s time for the other leg. She goes in on Tuesday. Thank you so much for the shares and well wishes. She should recuperate well it’s the 6 month down time that sucks because she is SO active.

ohkayyy182 @lnekat that’s so rough! We had both knees done and she got final clearance for running and stairs after about six months. It was hoooooorrrrrible keeping her quiet! We got the vet to do both at the same time (she didn’t want to) and saved us a ton of the cost. Thank goodness. My babe also got some chronic anal gland issues from lack of activity after her surgery it seems. I will be thinking of your pupper! Hoping for a fast recovery and no complications for you! ❤️

71elvira Prayers for a fast recovery 🐶 and many sakes to reach your expensive surgery, we Love our pets are a family member. We have a 14 year old mini Chihuahua and he has Arthritis in both of he’s legs Vet advice to either put him on the wheels or to sleep him if he gets any worse. For now we’re giving him a quality life. We have hardwood floors and I have rugs for him to walk all over the house. He no longer like to wear cloth.. Much Live for our Pets❤️🐶

We’ve been there between three surgeries and a nine month long round of chemotherapy- the bills hurt immensely. I’m not sure if this will help... but we used CareCredit to help with Pearl’s surgeries and chemotherapy- maybe this may be an option to help offset the immediate bill overload? Just a thought- we would’ve not been able to keep Pearl alive without having it as a backup.

lnekat @vannuys77 Awww thank you so much. It’s been 10 weeks post surgery. She is doing ok but I think something is going on with her knee. We are seeing the surgeon on Monday. If he tells me she needs another surgery ( which I think will be the case) I am going to postpone until Fall. Unfortunately she hasn’t recovered because of her luxating patella so now we go in for a 3 rd surgery in about 30 days.... thank you so much for the shares! I hope your pup has recovered well 🐕🐾❤️

Yes, my Pup is doing ok so far. We also did not do pt after surgery. Only walks up and down hills when we got the green light

lnekat @jenniferbmiller oh, I’ll have to look into that FB group. Mocha was only 1.5 when her first ACL tore. She is 3 now. She loves to RUN. I’m just hoping she can get back to that place again where she runs pain free. We always did the PT, her actual vet is in charge of that division. It’s amazing what tools they have now to help the animals. How old is your pup?

jenniferbmiller @lnekat Harley had the surgery after she turned 5. It was a partial tear but the limping was on again off again. We wanted her to return to normal life. We are back to 2 mile walks almost every day. Yes, I know that a lot of people in the community suggest physical therapy. Her vet was very conservative and said, the bone has been cut and reset. Rest rest rest is pretty much all you need for the first five weeks. Then introducing very slow walks.

lnekat @jenniferbmiller they say the other leg usually needs surgery 1-2 years after the first one. It might be inevitable. When mocha tore her right leg, the left leg was already at a partial tear.. it was a double whammy for me for sure. So I knew in time she would need the other leg done. I just wasn’t prepared for the knee issues. She is extremely energetic and also loves her play dates ❤️

lnekat @marvelrobin03 LOL these 2 surgeries have cost me a small car 🚗 She has to have one more surgery to fix her luxating patella ( knee cap) whenever they can book her I will schedule it. She LOVES to run, I just want her back to normal. She’s still so young. I love mastiffs! I am a kennel coordinator for a local rescue and we currently have a 1 year old Cane Corso. We don’t get them in very often but they are beautiful dogs!

dabflorio I understand about pups. I would do anything to make sure my Shug was healthy. My little buddy is a 6 year old rescue. I actually donate 10% of my sales to a rescue group that I work with. I hope you pups are healthy and happy. 😊

lnekat @natsantangelo Hi, she is doing okay! She hasn’t healed as well I would have liked after all of these surgeries. So we went to a specialist in december. The outcome is that she had an injury as a pup before I got her that wasn’t fixed and affected her growth. Her left femur is 1.5” shorter than the other and it’s causing the knee joint area some problems. We still go to therapy and I’m hoping she continues to not be in pain because im not sure we can go through anymore surgeries 😕

lnekat @mpressman310 Thank you so much 😊 Mocha is doing okay post surgery however we found out her back leg is 1.5” shorter than the other ( a puppy injury before I got her that was never treated ) so she will battle this leg pain for the rest of her life. She is on daily meds and goes to therapy 2-3 a month. With all of this, She is a happy dog 🐾🥰
