He has always had one and is super attached to them, and now that I have experienced loving one I can’t imagine what it will feel like to lose her! They sure are a gift from above! I remember watching a show with Cesar Milan and he said “you end up with the dog you need” and I think that is so true.

OMG!! I'm so sorry that you lost your sweet baby. I just lost my handicapped Boxer, Lady. She had Degenerative Myelopathy. I had to put her time sleep last week and my heart feels like it's been ripped out of my body. She is my profile pic. She was my BEST friend!! 🐶 ❤🐶❤

What a beautiful dog. I’m so sorry for your loss, I myself am fighting cancer right now which is why I started a posh! We lost our dog Jack (he was almost as big as I was) from cancerous tumors and internal bleeding and even though it’s been almost two years I still miss him every day. I am also a cancer survivor and my family and I have four beautiful fur babies and I know they were what got me through the hardest days while I was home alone. There are my babies too.❤️ In July I will celebrate 6 years cancer free. I am truly blessed. Anything I can help you with please reach out. U are not alone.

Sorry for your loss♥. I lost my yellow lab at 8 yrs old to cancer. He only lived 4 days after being diagnosed. Selfishly, 3 of those days were spent going to different specialist hoping to save him. He was my baby. It's been 6 years since he passed, but I still cry for him. Nothing compares to a dog's love. I got a tattoo of him on my shouder. Your baby is beautiful!

It seems like it had carcinoma in the name. The vet said skin cancer though. It came on so quickly. I grieved so much when I lost . I know it's got to be the same for you because they are family. But I will let you know for sure tomorrow. Thank you for reaching out to me.

@lindachris that's so sad that she wasn't able to live her full life to pass naturally. Mine was able to fortunately. My boy went down in the basement knowing he was going to die at the time he did. Went down there so no one would see him gone. My father found him there and buried him in the woods. Dogs do have some kind of sense like we do to know. I don't know how it was for yours, but still so sad.

I have actually been diagnosed with PTSD from that horrible night. Please spread the word about this horrific cancer especially to people that have large fur baby’s. I had no knowledge of this cancer. The guilt of that puts unbearable pain on me every day.

That's horrible that you have PTSD from this. But you should NEVER feel guilty for all you did and tried to do. I'm sure she was grateful and loved you alot for all of it. Sometimes things are not under our control, and you shouldn't blame yourself at all. For me I had him and another that past not to many years later. The other one was more so my sister's. I think about him (here and there or if I see or hear something that bring memories up) more so since he was around a bit longer.

...and come to find out, he had famous parents. I might forgotten it was said when I was younger but was told not long ago that he did. My mother still has the birth certificate somewhere to I'm sure state that. I mean who knew. It would be in a way nice if I was, but someday who knows or what the future holds, lol.

In Los Angeles, it’s really bad & stuck at home only with my husband, 2 grown up kids who live in the same town, aren’t visiting to keep us safe. I think you should get another one. They were both with me a long time (my constant & loving companions) & I have 1 left now. He will be age 20 at the end of May. Blind & deaf but still with me constantly.. @lindachris I wish they lived longer it really does feel like losing a child. Mine were rescues in puppy mill. we were surprised how long they lived but am very grateful 2. Another2 chihuahuas lived to 14 yrs. A rescue half breed pit bull who only lived 8 years.. I’ve read that small dogs live longer. I also now have one crazy cat “CC” & a bunny I’m about to rescue who has lived in a cage for 4 years. sad but he is so sweet! their love is so precious..l tho it hurts it’s totally worth it.❤️

@grace4d Omg. My sister used to have a rabbit. We loved it dearly. They are really smart. I think you’re right. The larger size dogs for some reason are prone to these cancers. I don’t know why. It just destroys my brain cell thinking about it every day. I love that you rescue because you’re right. It’s not not just the adoption centers. It is also the puppy mills. You are actually rescuing because you don’t know what they will end up doing with them. 🙏

Therefore, no research. It is harder than I thought it would be. I will definitely need to get additional help with funding some other way. 🙏

🌈RIP to Dolce! I dunno when this happened, but thank you for raising awareness for this type of cancer, so that more doctors in the future will know to research on it. some cancers are very prominent in certain breeds. I'm lucky that our rescue is a lab retriever mix.
