In 2018 I was really stressed at work and decided a new hobby would help me relax. I started making coin rings. By the end of the year, the stress was just too much so I quit my job and went into early semi-retirement to recover mentally. I kept making the rings for friends and family but ran out of people to give them to so I decided to start selling them. As I started to sell them, I decided to branch out and start making other Jewelry. I now make custom coin-based jewelry and also charm jewelry. It is a great little hobby that has now turned into a part-time job with a lot less stress. Due to an injury in 2020, I no longer make many coin rings but continue to make the other jewelry and coin art. Any coin rings you see in my closet are probably the last ones I will make for selling.

lectrikye Your rings are fantastic works of art!! 😍😍 id love a Texas state ring if you ever find one and are able to make it! I mean it, I love my jewelry and this is breathtakingly fantastic. I read that you coat them so it doesn’t turn your finger green but I can’t wear anything with nickel in it. Do you think the glaze would be protective enough to prevent skin irritation? cointampa @lectrikye Thank you for your interest. I use a pretty thick coating. It should be fine, but eventually, the coating will wear away and need to be recoated. For any allergy users, I would recommend a silver quarter instead. You don't want to risk it. I currently don't do silver coins but I've seen a few other coin ring makers on here that do silver. Silver coins are more expensive though.

cointampa @joecastillona I have done dollar coins before. They are really hard on my tools though. Maybe one day I’ll make some to sell but I would need some cheaper tools first so I don’t ruin my expensive ones. Same with nickels. They are my favorites but they really take a toll on your ring stretcher.

cointampa @cindysue140 I wish I could take credit for the idea but the craft has been around for a while. There is a whole community of us from all over the world. Many of them are braver than I am and ring rare coins. Most of what I know and the tools I own, came from them.

If you aren't ready, I usually keep at least one of each state in stock but don't do runs every week so it may take longer depending on my schedule.

If you ever come across a copper penny during the WWII years it is worth a fortune... few were made in error as they should have been zinc due to copper being used for bullets. Since you have a thing for coins as well , may I suggest you research the penny ; there are some even up to 1983 that could be very valuable. All the best to you and your recovery.
