shopfor_fun @mmark62 they are above the ankle by maybe 3-4 inches. they run true to size medium fit but for thick socks I think you will need to get 9

binle Thank You so much for e-mailing me back. I really appreciate that. I'm thinking that with the fur lining it may be snug. My Boot/Shoe measurements usually run about 9 1/4" to 9 1/2" the larger number to accomodate for thicker socks. Have A Wonderful Evening!
