gma_maggie @tyz yes layers of carbon Under extreme temperature and pressure. This lab created diamond have excellent cut , clarity, color. Hardness between 8.6 -9.0 Mohs. Natural diamond is at 10Mohs. This lab created stone is comparable to sapphire and ruby in hardness.

gma_maggie @tyz on rings that i give a carat size , those are the lab created diamonds. For example on this ring in this post , the only lab created diamond is the main stone at 1.25 carat. All other stones are 5A grade Cz.

gma_maggie @tyz i dont think going smaller by a 1/4 or even a 1/2 a number would be problem. The accent stones on sides are high enough that it should be ok.
