Up for grabs is this beautiful & unique 1940s vintage CAMP girdle. Super hard to let this go, but sadly it’s too big for me & I have a large vintage collection already. In excellent condition with no flaws, which is super hard to find in this condition. It features buttons with hook-eye closure & elastic panels on the front, beautiful fan-lacing on the back to adjust to various sizes & metal boning throughout. Measurements have been provided in pictures. Please ask all questions before buying.

peggy_schuyler Can you tell me what sizes it ranges from? Like bust, waist, and hips, I see how small the waist goes but how big? :) thank you!

angelic_aura @peggy_schuyler hi love! Measurements have been provided in pictures. The main size of this girdle is 35”, but I think it would be safe to add 5” to each of the straps since those are pulled to its tightest in the pics without stretching the girdle and depending on how big of a gap you want in the back. The fan-lacing allows it to adjust a lot.

angelic_aura @peggy_schuyler this is an underbust girdle

peggy_schuyler
peggy_schuyler @andriamukai thank you! I’m searching for something to take a 32 inch waist down to a 30 inch waist :) maybe even an inch or two more

angelic_aura @peggy_schuyler this would work to cinch you, but if you’re waist-training or tightlacing then girdles aren’t meant for that. You need a heavy-duty steel boned corset and you need to train your waist over time.

rcpage005 Pretty! My measurements are about 35 inch bust 27 inch waist and 41 inch hips. I wouldn’t mind it fitting a bit loose in the waist but do you think it would be able to close over the thunder thighs??

angelic_aura @rcpage005 hey love! I think this would fit you great! It’s adjustable with the fanlacing back and the measurements posted are when it’s fully closed, but it’s normal to have a gap between the laces

rcpage005 @andriamukai thanks for the quick reply it is lovely. I know you have many vintage pieces like this, is this the only one for sale now? How do you collect them if you don’t mind me asking, from thrift shops? Just curious because what a neat thing to collect!

angelic_aura @rcpage005 thank you and yes this is the only one for sale right now, but I may list some other ones soon. I’m debating on it haha. I do find these thrifting as well as online!

rcpage005 @andriamukai lovely thanks I will def check back for more pieces while I ponder this one. If only money was no object lol

rcpage005 I keep coming back just to look at this because it’s so pretty lol! But I’d really like something of this style that I could wear around my hips like a skirt, with the fan lace in front (possibly over a slip or something because the backside would be so short). I don’t think this one could be worn like that?

angelic_aura
angelic_aura @rcpage005 hi love! This one is meant to be worn a little higher on the torso with the fanlacing in the back. Usually the fanlacing is in the back because it allowed for you to lace yourself up easier back in the day without the help of someone else :) I haven’t seen another one like this yet and I’ve been collecting for years

rcpage005
rcpage005 @andriamukai yeah I figured I just prefer it like a skirt with the lacing in front. I’ve seen in your about you section you wearing one like that but I know it’s not for sale so I was debating if this one could be worn like that or not

alex88888888 Hi, just wanted to ask if or where the straps can be tucked once the corset is tightened? This is a beautiful foundation piece!
Dec 09Reply
angelic_aura
angelic_aura @alex88888888 hi there! I don’t think the straps are meant to be tucked anywhere, but you could wrap it around the bodice if you’re wearing it under something!
