Hi everyone! My mom gifted me the FL&L Amelia Dress. When I received it, it looked different. My mom ordered another one and we compared them. The one on the left I believe to be authentic. Both purchased from Poshmark. I was surprised because she bought the one on the right from an active posher in the community that sells lots of AUTHENTIC FL&L. Since counterfeits are becoming more common (not just clothing) it can be difficult for sellers and buyers💔 Be careful when purchasing & selling💕

arielwilliams18 Both dresses had their FL&L size tags which looked identical, however, the counterfeit looked like the tag had been sloppily sewed on. The last photo shows the RN# of each dress which is the same, however, the spacing between the 1 and the 3 is bigger on the fake one (right) vs the authentic one (left) has equal spacing for all numbers.

arielwilliams18 There are also spaces between the “dry clean only” on the authentic one vs the counterfeit there is not. There were many subtle signs that gave away the counterfeit that I’m happy to share if anyone has more questions👍

arielwilliams18 Please keep in mind that sellers are also buyers and may be unaware if their item is authentic or not because lots of items are re-poshed! It’s just an issue that everyone in the community should be weary about when selling & purchasing. @aviatrice18

Last month I had a lady say the pants I sent her had a stain... which they didn’t and returned a random top of hers... it’s sad how these people are doing this to the posh community!!! I’ve been here since 2015 and love posh...

bonbonpuff I purchased the Amelia Midi dress on poshmark months ago and it was a fake. Very obvious a dupe Bc the embroidery was stiff and color was darker. No brand or size tags either. I had the off shoulder Amelia to compare it to. If something is off, it’s probably a fake. Especially when 80% of your closet is FLL.

arielwilliams18 *Important* This post was not meant to slander any poshers name. Sharing the seller has a negative impact on her account. This is not about anyone in particular, but instead raising awareness in the posh community for counterfeited goods which not only include clothing. For example, counterfeited makeup has extremely harsh chemicals and it can be difficult to tell real vs fake nowadays.

arielwilliams18 Also, counterfeiting usually exploits child labor abroad. These are the issues I want everyone to be wary of, not bombarding a trustworthy seller who did not know she was selling a counterfeit. So please, ask for thorough photos and ask lots of questions before purchasing an item if you have your doubts about it💕

arielwilliams18 Perhaps because I used flash to clearly see the stitching. FL&L is all about the details and the stitching on the one on the left is impeccable. There are no loose threads or strange stitching😊 @brenda486

jasmineshoppe @arielwilliams18 lmk if you need to see other styles. I have 2 of the midis from FLL. 1 of the swings from FLL. The off the shoulder in M purchased from FLL but my sister borrowed that. I have an off the shoulder in L posted i got from one of those online consigners

arielwilliams18 I also noticed the bottom of the zipper (as far down as the zipper can go) is sloppily stitched up and has a rugged finish on the counterfeit. Lots of giveaways for sure. @islandlilli

jasmineshoppe @arielwilliams18 yeah. Sloppy stitching is not their thing. Unless it's a manufacturer defect. I look for several things: 1 the luster because the mesh is super fluid and silky in movement. 2. The color of the slip. All the ones purchased from FLL or equiv have the same color slip. All the fakes i got on E have a different shade slip but the color is the same and very different...

jasmineshoppe @arielwilliams18 I look at the hooks, they have to be on the same side. And depending on the dress, sleeves, length, v cut, lining etc. are drastically different. I'll post an example of a fake one now...

shirrio I have an authentic one I bought from Revolve a while back when it was still available haha. I will post pictures later today to show the details :) I know FL&L is supposed to be “all about the details” but I’ve purchased a lot from them and I’ve realized the quality is bad but I still pay for the cute designs. :)
