This beautful old Tibetan necklace is big and bold! It is a big style made of dark golden bronze color metal, with coral and turquoise color gems. It has a hook and chain clasp, adjustable length. I think this necklace may have been worn for a Buddhist wedding or ritual. It does show its age with lots of patina and wear, and a few missing gems- but still so lovely as is!

The center has the goddess Tara who represents universal compassion, and brings about longevity, protects earthly travel and guards her followers on their spiritual journey to enlightenment. Her name is Sanskrit for "Star". She is a popular goddess in Tibet, Nepal and Mongolia. It has a loop in the center front that you can attach a charm or pendant to, or wear as is.
