sweetsphynx I can't believe how much fake Betsey they allow on here. It's so frustrating when you're looking for real jewelry. You have to shift through a hundred fakes for every real piece.

pergie @sweetsphynx I know!! It makes me so mad every time I start looking. I want to let everyone that I can know that they're fake. I'd be so pissed if it was me that had bought one and got scammed.

sweetsphynx @pergie I ended up with a big bundle of them from China. I ripped all the fake tags off, and fake Betsey hearts. I use them for my kids bday party favors n such (after the fake branding is removed). Even then I have to replace the chains. The ones they sell them with snap with the kids every time. I can't imagine how upset someone would be to spend $40 on one thinking it was real Betsey, only to have the chain crumble off their neck.

pergie @sweetsphynx WOW! That's awesome that you did that! A lot of people would have sold them as Betsey anyway, obviously. They're doing it ALL over Poshmark and I know some of them have to know they're fake.

hyacinthfts Betsey Johnson collaborates with several corporations. They designed an entire line for Disney in 2019 etc. She even designed Kleenex boxes for Kimberly Clark. Be cautious but be aware. I've collected BJ for over 30 years, and have stopped because of counterfeits and the "experts" Do your research on your own. ❤

pergie @hyacinthfts Are you saying the information here isn't accurate? Because I don't want to put be spreading misinformation, especially about Betsey. I 💜 Betsey! 😊 I love her as a person and a designer. I think she's amazing. That's why I get so upset about people out here making money off of her good name with stuff that looks like it came out of a Happy Meal. Most of it on here you can take one look at it and tell it's fake.

hyacinthfts @pergie I understand and share your love of BJ and her free and creative design. I started collecting her during my 1982 trip to NYC when I visited her Soho boutique. And it saddens me to see such an overwhelming amount of counterfeit merchandise. What concerns me are the blanket statements of what's fake and what's not. I have tags from her stores without barcodes, with leopard print (granted, they're from the 80's) she designed for Disney, for Trolls.

hyacinthfts @pergie. Suggest buyers do their due diligence, research first. Warn but don't accuse unless you're certain. That's all I only purchased from 3 of her boutiques and I don't buy now unless I know the seller personally. Caution is good, but choose your words carefully and know your accurate. So nice to meet another BJ fan.

shipa12 I have two Betsy Johnson purses and they’re both real. I also have a KS Mickey Mouse purse that is authentic, so to say don’t buy Mickey Mouse is a bit wrong.

pergie @shipa12 Well, you can pretty much tell when they're fake and when they're real just by comparing the authentic items on her website. When we're talking about the vast majority of what's for sell on here and many other sites that they won't allow me to name in this post, then these slides say it all. I know there ARE authentic pieces with leopard print tags BUT those are vintage, from many years ago, NOT new.

wendygeez Hi, I luv 💕 Betsey and have bought Betsey Johnson jewelry forever. I love that you luv Betsey Johnson too. 💝 I in no way want to be disrespectful but I have A LOT of vintage and retro Betsey jewelry from Authentic retailers like Macys, Nordstrom and Betsey boutiques. Most of these pieces have hot pink tags with black writing but some are hot pink and leopard with a little brown. I may list some of these rare and retro pieces soon so thanks for listening💗🖤luv your closet too 💕
