jbear @snootylulus omg especially at the price you have listed, you could easily get double that. Women are buying similar styles for a couple hundred to a thousand. I don’t wanna say it’s bc of the tag/designer bc that really has nothing to do with style.

jbear @snootylulus my theory is that each closet on Poshmark starts off empty. We, the user fill our virtual “closets” with items that we intend on selling. We don’t have a “company’s name” backing our closets. We have brands, but i believe our closets have transformed into little boutiques. Finding a niche market is what big brands do, so that they can gain a loyal following

jbear A good example of that is ADIDAS; I have a jacket from the 80’s that has never went out of style, adidas has solid colors with 3 stripes, and incorporated patterns but kept the signature stripes. Same thing that LOUIS Vuitton has done by changing up their monogram with LE’s but never getting rid of their signature monogram that has been around for a century. They had a colab with Supreme, Marc Jacobs designer Stephen Sprouse....

jbear ...and to this day still give people the opportunity to carry around Audrey Hepburn’s favorite bag, the Alma. So what makes people WANT and envision the NEED for aomething on Poshmark? I believe it’s all about branding yourself or your closet. posh went from selling random clothes you didn’t wear for whatever price you came up with (if you could find stock images back in 2012 and buy a light box you were selling non stop.....

jbear Yes we all shared, but people weren’t buying to sell. Now we have a platform that has turned into a place where influencers and eBay resellers come and have an established brand, and/or have inventory sourced from all corners of the world. Doesn’t mean an IG with 100k followers will do well on Poshmark - .....

jbear if they are hard workers then they will do very well - but Posh still has the sense of community and that means unless you know exactly who wants to buy what and when and how much they will pay for it you’re not going to sell on purpose. Having a posher share your closet was a sign of trust when I first started, now I see share bots or hear of people hiring someone to share for them alll day....

jbear So to conclude my ramble, I believe building a brand is important, knowing how to take good pics and editing is important, taking the time to look up what others are selling that’s similar and seeing if they sold is important. Even more important tho is being in company of amazing people who can help you make money and some poshers will give you million dollar ideas with no ulterior motives...

jbear It’s important to realize we’re all here to make money, but we’ need to market ourselves and our brand more. Rather than giving more likes and follows on Instagram to people who abuse the system I’m always back to Posh....

jbear Posh has everything instagram has but better- its a place where conversations can change your life and majority of users are dedicated which means they are making sales by sharing others. We’re forced to communicate with each other and it has allowed us as humans to stay authentic and true to ourselves.

jbear PS. I know I just blew up your listing. I prob should’ve wrote on one of my listing And tagged you. So I apologize if i clogged you up. It’s been somewhat of an “epiphany day” for me.. I’ve been on posh for a long time and if I made the right moves I could absolutely make thousands a week on here. Anyone could. And that’s why I always come back, I have big ideas, and great support on here I need to work at it rather than talk it.
