Still researching the purpose of this. I have used this to put my hot pots on and hand pot holders. Has many uses. This is very old and has the farmhouse look. Cast iron with brass hooks. Really neat accent piece in kitchen or bath.

the bottom is 5 3/4 in width. It is made of iron and so is a bit on the heavy side. How much weight would it hold? Hard to say. It is pretty heavy so I would imagine a significant amount
