@jennamv21 you are pretty spot on with the 8 (36, 29.5) but the 12 is 38.5, 31.5. Always possible to take in if it’s too big but not always possible to let out if it’s too small. But I think the 8 is the way to go.

Okay-let me confirm the size chart from Jovani from the year this dress came out and I can better advise you on size. The hip on this dress doesn't matter as much because it is an A-line but I will confirm the bust and waist for you.

@blossom209 Okay so after checking the size chart the Bust for a 40 in Jovani is technically a 14 however the waist of a 30 matches better with a size 10. I would go with the 12 and it should fit well!
