musicbird I especially love that your designs showcase the stones, not hide or conceal them. 🌹

jkdesigns @musicbird Thank you. I feel such an affinity toward these stones. Their beauty, raw or touch, tumbled or polished, makes me happy! I have a lot of browsers that come and say it’s like being in a garden! I am blessed to have done as well as I have. I really love what I do. I all about letting your true self shine! My name is Jen. It’s nice to meet you.

lionessjker What do you mean that these stones are therapeutic and have healing properties?

lionessjker Do you buy your stones from a special place? I know some people believe these things. I am wondering if you use this as a selling point?

jkdesigns @lionessjker I just have long-term relationships with merchants around the world. It has been trial & error since about 2008. I also have a friend that closed her store so I got a lot from her. I had to pay for it, but got a pretty good deal. I don’t reveal my sources.

jkdesigns @lionessjker One thing I learned is it never pays to sell inferior product. What’s the point if the buyer isn’t happy? I could buy 100 stones for necklaces at a time, or more, but then I would get a random mix someone else chose. I am sure that someone would throw in a few bad ones to be rid of them. I pick them one at a time so I get only the best.

lionessjker @jkdesigns Jen, I am not saying that your stones are inferior or trying to get you to reveal your sources. I am interested in you saying they having healing powers. Do you make them this way or your suppliers do this. Or is it your belief that stones have these capabilities on their own? I think your jewelry is the prettiest and know it is high quality.

lionessjker @jkdesigns I also know that sellers of stone jewelry use the healing stones as a selling point.

jkdesigns @lionessjker No worries. I wasn’t in the least offended. My ego got a stroke! Your interest is flattering. I don’t give anything power, except that I make everything with love.

jkdesigns @lionessjker I am not sure if the stones actually heal, to be honest. I believe the stones are miraculous in being. Look what must happen and in the perfect conditions, for a beautiful stone to form! I wouldn’t doubt God could make something with healing properties. He has done it with many unexpected & even less glamorous materials—like MOLD, and gave us penicillin!

jkdesigns If stones have healing potential, meditation & prayer would only strengthen these qualities. I don’t know enough about the chemical compounds to discuss this topic scientifically.

jkdesigns @lionessjker I am not sure what my suppliers believe.

jkdesigns @lionessjker Stones come from all over the globe. Agates are largely out of Brazil, but Madagascar has some very unique agates. Jade is found many places but is largely sourced from Asia. I like green Opal from Australia. Tibet, a very spiritual location, alters agates & mines many stones. They also produce silver & mixed-media beads that are just stunning. I also buy stones from Argentina, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India (not right now) the U.S, and Russia.

jkdesigns @lionessjker Many people count on the energy they get from stones. I can feel the energy. I am not sure how or what it can do, but have been affected by stones, some more than others. Those with palpable energy are few. I usually note it if I list a stone that affects me. I do believe I am sensitive to things others are not. I am intuitive and can’t seem to slow, let alone stop, my creative energy. I sit down, and make 100% responsively. I don’t follow patterns or plans.

lionessjker @jkdesigns thanks for all the information. I just love the look of all the stones. And I do believe that God is the greatest Artist of all. Sunsets, colorful birds and flowers and of course precious and semi precious gems. I can tell that you have so much creativity in you. And I think your jewelry is gorgeous. I have always loved bright colors. Well all color actually. Hope your day is good
