This pendant necklace was made by Paquette in the early 90’s. The pendant represents a Nantucket shell Basket which has become a symbol of Nantucket. Such baskets were woven by the lightship keepers guarding the shoals of Nantucket Sound during the early 1800’s. The sailors passed the time weaving intricate and beautiful wooden baskets.
