Napoleon (photo 1): He was a birthday gift from my cousin when I turned 13. He only liked me, everyone else could take a hike! He was by my side through all my births and slept by my head at night. RIP, sweet boy 💔
Talaat: (photo 2) 7 yrs old, shelter rescue my husband got me. This boy has so much personality! He's a dog in cat form. Wags his tail when happy, begs for food and follows me everywhere.
Feona:(photo 3) is a sweet old lady. Great with my young kids, never scratches. The absolute perfect family cat.

@cricketlee001 Amen and amen!! two of mine are shelter rescues. I would adopt more but my husband said no more than 3 at a time. I got a kitten last time so I told him for our next one that I'll adopt one that's not as adoptable, probably an old cat. 🥰

@rebornamore Senior kitties are the best! I love the seniors because you know what their personality is going to be like. Plus, seniors are harder to adopt for shelters. you may want to inquire, when the time comes, about doing a "permanent foster" basically the kitty is all yours but the costs related to special needs the shelter will cover all of the cost for the lifetime of the kitty!!

Pretty kitties. Napoleon looks like one of my four. He sleeps above my head at night too. I’ve been a dog lover all my life,.......go figure. Still love dogs and now am a cat lover too.

@wflhoutx thanks! My husband likes to joke that Napoleon is my boyfriend, haha. your kitty sounds so sweet. I've always loved dogs as well but I haven't had one of my own and they seem more high-maintenance. 😁 we plan to get a dog one day but not until we have our own place with some property.

Napoleon cracks me up. one thing that he does that is especially funny is when my husband and I watch TV at night, I sit with my legs curled under me, so I don't have a lap. Napoleon will come and sit on my husband's lap so that I can pet him. If my husband's legs are curled up as well, Napoleon will sit on the coffee table and stare at him until he straightens his legs out.😂

Ha, that’s so funny about Napoleon! They are pursnickety, aren’t they? Clawde only sits on our lap when we are in a straight back (table) chair. In our soft living room chairs, he puts rear paws on our lap & stands very stiffly with front paws on our right shoulder. Then climbs up onto our shoulder & perches like a vulture 😂😂, facing the wall. Weirdo!! (cont)

Phantom is more of a lap cat, but gives us the stink eye until we put down either a pillow or a blanket on our lap. I love all their strange little quirks and idiosyncracies. Life with a cat is never dull! lol!

I love cat fur babies. I’m down to three for now. They grew old. Two died last year. One a few years back. My girls are about 18 and I have a 6 year old bad boy. He brings home ‘presents’ all the time 😩, but I love him just the same.

@richmondsrelics that is the worst thing about cats, that they have to pass away. 🥺 I've had my cat Napoleon since I was a teenager and at my parents house he was an indoor/outdoor cat and he would bring me " presents" all the time. one time I found a live chipmunk running around my bedroom!

@rebornamore That’s happened to me too. Even recently I saved bunnies, chipmunks, frog, fish that they brought home. I was able to save them. The other day I found a headless bunny in my dining room, dead of course. When my kitties die I feel thankful that I gave them a good life.

@rebornamore my daughter boarded her horse on a nearby farm. I picked three kittens from litters. The lady who managed the farm would find them loose in Baltimore city and bring them to the farm, but she failed to neuter/spay any of them. They had kittens everywhere. That was 20 years ago. Those 3 I got just died over the last couple years. Two I have now we got a year after those farm kitties. I will always have cats and dogs.

@rebornamore All mine get fixed and vaccines. I catch some of the wild ones or homeless kitties, get them fixed, shots and some live in our barn. Our neighbor does the same. We are in a small town. Not too many roaming around. The local humane society helps with bringing humane traps for those needing them, but we have our own.

I love the pictures of your fur babies ! I have a non profit and we have done street cat T.N.R. Over forty years. We also have provided shelters food and fresh water. Our volunteers help greatly. It's so much fun. we had 3 cats living near our house in VA that were taken care of by the humane society, similar to what you're talking about. It was a terrible day when someone poisoned them. 😭 I was so glad that I keep my cats indoors. Turns out someone had put antifreeze in their wet food.

@skiboots123 I have loved living in Saratoga! we're planning to move soon because the state is too expensive and liberal (we are only here temporarily for my husband's job anyway) but it's such a beautiful part of the state.

@rebornamore it definitely is. Changed a lot since I’ve been there. Lost some of its charm, but still one of my favorite places of all time. I lived on Broadway. I miss being able to walk out the door and having something to do no matter what time of the day or night :-).

@skiboots123 Oh, yeah! Broadway is a great place just to walk around. We live only about 10 minutes from downtown. Such a bustling place. Good places to eat, entertainment, even a yarn shop for my crafty self. 😁

@rebornamore Yes they are. She’s 14 and having health issues, so now I’m her personal chef! We lost Tessie (my dog) in September and I know she misses her so much. Yours are beautiful, continue to take good care of them! Blessings!!

@sophie63 They really are the best! great to meet another person who cares about them. ❤️ These pictures are of my three indoor cats, but since moving in December we have now acquired three feral cats as well that were living on the property. We got them all spayed/neutered a couple days ago and they are all doing well.
