52early @noirkoko First of all I apologize fot getting back to you so late...I have several friends who are jewelers and like everyone in any trade they all have different optons....This ring is NOT genuine amethyst but believe to be synthetic...When ring was bought I was told it was genuine amethyst...I have updated my site and price ring considerably lower.Hope that helps..Whatever you decide thanks for looking at my site...have a great evening....Russ Miller
