Hello! It looks like a beautiful piece but I am trying to figure out the plastic part. Is there an opening under the clear plastic part? Where exactly does the passport fit in? Is the leather opposite the clear plastic coated? Thanks so much!

@saltwatertaffy5 Hi! So the right and left plastic parts lift up so that your passport back and cover can slide underneath each side and open like a book. The whole thing is leather except for the clear plastic and what seems to be a pleather like trim.

@saltwatertaffy5 In the post I called it vinyl but it’s really just a faux leather trim- not sure exactly what material it is. Whatever it is it rubbed off a little on to the plastic because it was stored at my home in the Caribbean for a little while which is quite humid.

The clear plastic is not sticky, it was only the faux leather trim. As long as it’s kept in a non humid environment I imagine it will remain as is and no longer stick. Currently it’s stored in my AC home and no longer sticky.
