With respect to your “like” statement and what it means, could you tell me how to bookmark an item instead of liking it. I select “like” when something is nice whether it’s my size or not. fashionablyalli @haineyboutique liking someone’s item tends to show a seller that you may be interested in purchasing in the future (at least, to me, and I’ve been here a while lol). That being said- as the person who likes a lot of stuff you’re not interested, you may find that you get tons of offers/discount for items you’d never buy, clogging your feed as well. Something to consider for sure (:

I totally know what you mean about boutique employees LOL that’s like when people on here tag you and comment”are you interested??” It’s SOOO annoying. I only use my likes for bookmarks and I unlike when I change my mind. Most of the time I’m just waiting for price drops or pending sales before I buy

You can go to "your likes" and filter what Brand and find what you saved. If it hasn't sold yet, I then can purchase or make an offer. It takes too much time for me to bookmark a sellers closet and then look through their entire closet again to see why I bookmarked it. lol

thatlilsewsew @haineyboutique I like something because if the seller makes an offer , they may include discounts of shipping as well. Periodically, I will go through the items I liked and undo it if I think I won't actually end up buying it, to make it easier on the seller. We are conditioned to hitting a like button if we think something is mildly interesting, this forum asks us to like what we may want to actually buy. That's how I understand it, anyway.

After all, doesn’t it just mean that buyer “likes” the item irrespective of the intent to purchase? Are we sellers so intent on making a sell that we are over complicating the issue? sis_posh As many already mentioned, I would put a ♥️ on item when i truly love it and I do share it. I also look at my liked to find a seller that interested me, but still not the whole closet, just the specific item. So far I am mostly a seller, but I sincerely like many items. Also I would agree that the likes give hopes to the seller, but for the past 5 month I become a Posher, I get used to the idea, that it is not always a sale, but just a like.

If I were to decline or counter offers on my 'likes', I would be on here all day! If my likes turn into 'Wants' then I will bundle them. If they are bundling your items, that's a different story. I describe ALL flaws, etc.. but I've had 2 in last 2 months despite 5 stars rating (4.9 because buyer gave 1 star because she changed her mind and couldn't return) The returns worry me because I take special care to clean, repair and disclose all defects. YAY”, but as a buyer, I will ❤️ something because I do love it, I am interested, I want to find it easily again, but maybe or maybe not I am gonna but it RIGHT NOW! I think I am of two minds on this. If I get an offer, but have no intention of purchasing right then, I will say”thank you, but at this time I must share this terrific item” or something to that effect.

denimmunkies @pamelabanks52 poshmark is aware that we cant please everyone ... however this is a key to your visibility say a person only sales 10 items, that month and 2 are returns, that sellers visibility may be compromised as poshmark doesnt want to promote a bad seller,however have you reached out to the buyer to explain this effect and kindly ask her to edit her rating I have never seen a posher removed for this without multiple warnings so keep your head up and do your best sweet friend

I am sorry it lead to that, I have reached out when an item didnt fit, and explained I did my very best to picture waist tags & submit inseam rises etc, and they edited the rating no biggie some people are just neg keep your head up!!!

It is not a waste of time to send offers, it's part of the job! Why push people away with such messages…Send them my way.. the more ❤️'s an item get, the lower the price. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

seasideseeker @haineyboutique When this is the case with me, I usually like and then leave a comment. For Instance, I really like (whatever), but I have to make a couple of sales before I can purchase. I wanted it to be in my LIKES saved place for when I might be able to buy.

I mean after 5 years.... of PoshMark....this is just good customer service .... have you ever gone in to eat somewhere and yet no one ever came to your table, & you just walked out I have... there are so many closets all working their own ways this is you welcoming someone

denimmunkies @closet4you20 alot of the likes are targeted likes.... meaning from another seller who has items your size... one to either gain a sale from you... or in hopes you will also share their items to your followers so they make a sale... from you.... the people who arent responding are not responding because they are not actually interested in your staple.. its bad market stratagy & is the reason we no longer share items for likers I totally get that!!!

saintsandaints I am bad at that. Its for me its like window shopping. Or I might like and item to remember to.come back to closet. I think as sellers and buyers we should not assume because the person like they are in the position to buy at that moment. I literally stop sending offers it takes to much. I go thru purchase history. 🤔😊 My Venting..

andreagreenwell I like ❤️ items I am interested in to bookmark the shop and remember. Also, sometimes when I like I get an awesome offer from the seller with discounted shipping! It’s much appreciated. If I decide not to buy then I can decline the offer. When people like my items I don’t mind if they decide not to buy. At least they will see other things I post and eventually they will become a customer! Thanks for sharing my item! I’m also happy and thankful for the shares!

giftsngems I appreciate this post and so many of your informative topics. I’ve spent a long time reading through the varied comments and chuckled at a few of the *interesting* responses to use of the like button. Ironic to think that there’s preaching about sellers not being sensitive to non-buying likers and yet they’re being sensitive about a non selling closet opening conversation about the fact that likes on Posh are intended for offers and sales.

giftsngems Fact: The like button is used for Offer to Likers and CCO notifications. There’s no Thank You for the Like notification. No one is forcing anyone’s hand on the like button issue. To each their own. But I’ve had someone try to start a passive aggressive debate about this in my closet and I feel that is uncalled for. I’m human. Constant declines are discouraging. And I’m a seller. Likes on items I’m selling give me hopes of being able to spark negotiations.

giftsngems This is not sensitivity. It’s business. I can keep my disappointments to myself but if there are customers out there so annoyed with offers that they decline within seconds of receiving one, it is ok for me to politely request they remove their “like”.

frogponder I wish I had seen your "new posher" post when I first started. It is very much appreciated. 1. I "like" something when I am interested in buying it, or hoping seller will give me a discount. 2. I "share" with the hope others will share my closet in return. 3. I "offer" when I definitely want it, and don't want it to sell to someone else.
